I tore my eyes away from Sebastian's lonely silhouette on the balcony and focused them on the desk.

I knew curiosity killed the cat, but I still couldn't help taking his phone.

There were countless notifications of missed calls and unread messages on the screen, giving me goosebumps.

The possessiveness of someone in love was terrifying.

The messages and calls were all from the same person: Madison White.

If I'd guessed it right, this was his girlfriend, i.e., his soon-to-be fiancée who had kicked up a stink.

Alas, Sebastian was so heartless.

Disagree with how he treated the girl, I turned off his phone as he asked, anyway.

Then I stood up and walked to the balcony with it.

"Is your engagement really gonna fall through?" I handed him the phone, frowning and coughing at the smell of smoke in the air.

He turned around and took it, jerking out of his trance.

Noticing my reaction, he stubbed out the cigarette in the ashtray. Finally, I felt better.

"Do you want it to?" he asked with a smir
