Chapter 12

As the day darkened, I hesitated for a while and threw the underwear into the pile of old clothes that someone had prepared to donate. Then, I patted away the dust in my hands and slowly made my way back home.

The moment I pushed open the door, I saw Sebastian.

I reflexively stepped out, figuring I might have entered someone else's home.

Yet the house number plaque proved me wrong.

I took a deep breath, feeling as if my legs had turned into lead.

I walked into my house again, and Sebastian was right on the sofa in the living room, eyes glued to his phone.

When I was about to ask him why he was here, Hansen came out and gave me a wink.

"Jasmine, come over here," he said seriously.

A chill stole over my body as if someone had poured a bucket of water over me.

Dammit, Dad must've found out about it!

Panic-stricken, I gritted my teeth and walked toward Hansen's study.

As I passed the sofa, a glance at Sebastian had me gasped in astonishment.

There were bruises on his neck and knees!
