CHAPTER SIXTEEN 'Plan'

Violet had no plan in mind. She'd just go wherever the wind tossed her to. She would but now, she had no idea where she even was. She looked around her surroundings, they were all filled with flowers and trees. Was she in the middle of nowhere?

She looked back at the mansion in the distance. It'd be embarrassing if she went back there after saying such an heartfelt speech. She sighed. She'd give her powers one last shot.

She exhaled and clapped her hands.

However what happened next was not what she was expecting.

The bag was holding in her hands vanished as well as the dress she was putting on, leaving her in her undergarments. She immediately went to hide behind a tree half-naked and embarrassed. She bit her thumb in regret. If she knew that would happen, she should've just gone back and ask where she was instead of taking a stupid risk. Now, her clothes were gone.

She ran her fingers through her hair in frustration. “What to do? What to do?”

She inhaled, filling the tip of her index finger with energy. She could create a dress out of tree leaves. Nothing could be as worse as losing some clothes.

Wind blew softly against the leaves on the tree and gathered.

Violet smiled. Was she going to be successful this time?

The leaves merged together and became bigger and bigger in front of her. She exhaled.. maybe she'd be successful this time.

A black long tongue appeared out of the leaves and when it merged together, it became a gigantic snake.

An high pitched scream echoed in the forest along with loud footsteps of the snake chasing a half naked Violet.

“POISION!!” She screamed desperately, her mind skipping etiquette.

The green snake was fast and she could smelt it's scent behind her along with it's hot warm breath. If she slowed down now, she'd be meal for the creature she created.

“HELP!!! FIRE!!! SNAKE!!! EARTHQUAKE!!!” She yelled all of the urgent words she thought would get anyone's attention. But she doubted anyone else lived near the forest.

The green snake opened it's mouth and Violet sensed it. She jumped into the air and landed on top of the gigantic snakes back. Immediately, it started twisting itself, trying to get rid of her but she held it tightly as it flew a few meters into the air. She held her breath, holding the urge to cry. She didn't know the snake could fly.

When she thought it'd give up, it flew further into the sky. Her grip was weakening now and very soon, she'd be dead.

The snake moved it's tails away, removing itself from her hold. She could feel herself falling now.

Like a loser, she'd die and no one would know.

She closed her eyes as she prepared herself for the thud.

But.. it never came.

An invisible energy held her in the air.

She opened her eyes and turned to look only to see a well dignified Poison, looking away from her while face palming himself.

Violet sighed, embarrassed of her own reputation.

She really made her dress disappear, then brought a flying snake to life. Then.. almost died by her own hands. It was embarrassing.

“If any gods ask who taught you in future, you mustn't mention my name.” Poison looked at her and she landed safely on the ground.

Poison removed his outer robe and Violet gasped at the toned muscles that shone beautifully.

“W—why are you removing your clothes? Who are you trying to seduce, huh?!”

Poison appeared in front of her, making her gasp in surprise.

He was just there..

Poison placed the robe all over her body and paid attention to the snake hanging in the air. He snapped a finger and the snake became leaves, pouring all over them.

Violet sighed in disappointment towards herself and stared at her face, unmoving.

“I..”

“I..” They said at the same time simultaneously.

Violet cleared her throat, “You first.”

Poison strecthed his hand in front of her and a letter appeared. Violet stared at him confusedly and he gestured for her to read the letter.

Carefully, she peeled it off his palm, hoping she didn't mistakenly turned the paper into a cow this time. She grimaced as the held the paper in her hand, waiting for something weird to happen. But nothing.. so she smiled and read the content out loud.

“Next task, unalive the queen of Thestryn. Deadline, 7 days.”

The paper fell off Violet's hands and her eyes darkened.

“Why Thestryn?! Why my aunt!!”

“I don't know but I asked someone to look into it.”

Violet stared at him, her tone hostile. “Speak!”

“I'm obligated to say anything Violet, I only told you this because you were once my student.”

Violet looked at the uneven look in Poison's eyes and scoffed, “Pathetic! Just admit you've failed as a god. How could you take orders from a mere human to kill someone?”

“In this world, humans and gods have are equal. The heavens decide their fate.”

That's when it hit Violet.

He was the good son of Edan, the god of wind. The second ruler of the heavens.

His older brother, Shane had been demolished to a demon for breaking one of heaven's rule and he was the good son, Jade.

She smirked, looking the greens in his eyes. No wonder.

The so called peacefulness he carried around with him was vile. It was Poison. It was addicting and that was what made him dangerous. She'd unknowingly put her trust in him even though it was just for a few days.

He must've got the letter earlier, that was why he sent a foolish guard to find her. He knew he couldn't kill her or he was scared of the energy she possessed so he used a manipulative tactic to subdue her instead.

“I must fulfill my task so you have only two choices to pick from, Xenia. One, stay out of this and I'll spare your life. Second.. kill the queen of Thestryn so I don't have to do it. After all, your true identity is Xenia. Not the identity of the kid you reincarnated in.”

Violet sighed.

“Even though I'm Xenia, I reincarnated in their territory because some of them worshipped my kindness. I won't let them down. Not as Xenia, not as Violet.”

“You're more sentimental than I thought.”

“You're the one that lost your wit to a wicked human you call your Mistress, you should be ashamed of yourself, Jade. If this also one of heaven rules you must obey?!”

Poison eyes widened. His eyes a bit surprised and bit fearful.

“H—how do you recognize me?”

“It's not hard to find an hypocrite like you. Regardless of how you mask your cowardice, it will always show up!”

Poison stared down at his feet, “So.. what are you going to do, fight me? You know you don't stand a chance.”

“It doesn't matter. I can kill us both with my energy.”

Poison tssked, “Idiot. Even if you kill me, Azarael will get someone else to murder her.”

Violet gave it a thought..

“If you want to save your aunt, the best way is find your mother, Lilly Agatha Sinora, the seventh keeper of the Thestryn valley. Then I'll find a way to prevent her from coming to Keitan.”

Violet chuckled, “You sly fox.. Just how dumb do you think I am?”

“Enough to be duped, why else could you have fallen for an idiot like Baddley?”

“Enough! I'm over it. It's been decades..”

“You wish. Anyway, will you trust me or not? I have no desire to do what would hurt you. If not, I wouldn't show you that Azarael gave me a mission to kill your aunt.”

“I don't trust you, Poison, my gut says no.”

Poison smiled and stared at the side, “You're such an idiot! You can control your own energy and now you're saying your gut says no. Let me tell you something, Violet. You can't trust your gut untill you've healed, right now, you're a mess! I'm giving you an opportunity, if you don't want to take it, fine! I'll have no choice but to get rid of your aunt as ordered.”

Tears welled up in Violet's eyes and she grabbed Poison's hand as he turned to leave. “Please..” a tear rolled down. She'd have to trust him once. If she couldn't beat him.. she'd have to cooperate with him. He was Jade, the good son of the heavens. He wouldn't kill people without reason.. Her aunt was innocent. There was no way Jade would kill her..

She was betting her aunt's life on Poison.

He wouldn't kill her. Right?

Poison held Violet's hand that laid on his and looked into her eyes welling with tears. He smiled, “I have a plan, would you like to hear it?”

Violet nodded and felt something in her stomach drop, making her feel anxious.

“I know where Lilly Agatha Sinora is held captive and I'll send my guard there to help you rescue her. Meanwhile, I'll prevent your aunt from crossing Keitan's territory but I'll need your hand written letter to convince your aunt that you and your mom are safe so she won't worry.”

“I—I can do that.”

The green in Poison eyes glinted, “Good.”
