1. Moonlight

Our gazes exchanged in the moonlit night. The red eyes glittered very beautifully. Long wavy black hair blowing in the wind.

It was my first meeting with her. That meeting felt like a miracle. The day that changed everything in my life. Instantly, I felt a feeling I couldn't explain. That girl is my first love.

Along with my curiosity, I returned to the place. A large house that is far on the hillside of the city. It looks like a castle inhabited by a princess in a fairy tale. Today I also came to see it.

"Why is this gate so high? How do I get past it?”

While confused, I walked around the place. I see a path that I can enter. The bushes that make my body scratch when passing through.

I can meet her if I pass by this place. Without thinking, my feet ran towards the room where the girl was seen. Before I could only see her from a distance. This time I can see her and talk to him. “Too High ….” I lifted my head to see the open bedroom window. I looked around carefully. "Okay!"

I approached the tree that was near me. The tree was tall enough to reach the window of the third-floor bedroom. Every step while climbing the tree feels like a challenge. I like things like this.

"Who is there?"

The beautiful voice echoed in my ears. Like a very melodious melody. Made me pause and just stare at the woman.

"Who are you?" she asked again.

Since then ten years have passed. I am currently 20 years old. I work at a restaurant on the edge of town. I live a few meters from where I work.

When I have time, I often come at night to see Frey. Frey's bedroom window would always be open. Indicating that she was waiting for my arrival. Frey will sit in front of her bedroom window while I sit on a tree. The time we spent was only about thirty minutes.

“Leo, your hair is getting longer,” Frey told me.

I held my blonde hair and then smiled at Frey. “Your hair is pretty too, Frey,” I said. Frey's face blushed at my compliment. She smiled gently at me saying, “thank you, Leo.”

Sometimes I just sit and don't speak. Seeing Frey sleeping on her study table. It was really fun. I feel like I always want to spend time with Frey like this.

Even though I know something like that won't last long.

“Leo, did you hear about people being attacked by vampires?”

My friend at work named Edwin suddenly said nonsense with a very serious face. “Do you think vampires exist? Bullshit!" I said.

“Eh… you don't believe me? Even though this news is hot. Everyone in town is talking about this, you know!” replied Edwin. He continued to talk about the rumors with a frightened face. Edwin is a person who is very easily frightened. Especially if it is related to mystical and horror stories.

"Rather than that, quickly prepare table order number five!" my orders.

"Alright ...," Edwin replied in a slightly lazy tone.

I continued my work as usual. Even so, I know something a little strange has been going on lately. The restaurant's customers, which are usually quite busy, seem to have decreased. I don't think I'm as busy as the previous days.

“Leo, can you come over to my house tonight?” asked Edwin after delivering the order.

"What is it?"

“You know… my family sends a lot of vegetables. I want you to take some."

I'm so happy to hear Edwin's words. "Yes of course. However, I will pick it up tomorrow," I replied excitedly.

"Eh? Why tomorrow? Come tonight with me!” asked Edwin.

I looked at Edwin who looked desperately pleading with me. I immediately smirked at Edwin. Edwin must have wanted me to take him home out of fear of these vampire rumors. "Sorry, I have a date tonight," I said with a sly face. It's not that I don't understand Edwin's fear. It's just, that I promised Frey to come tonight.

In the last few days, there have been mixed rumors about vampire attacks. This was because all of the victims were bleeding and there were several bite marks on the victim's bodies.

But I think it's just a coincidence. If it exists, I don't know what to do. There's no way something like vampires exists.

"You think the same as me, don't you Frey?" I said to Frey.

I told Frey about it when I visited her that night. About vampires and bullshit hotly talked about by the citizens. Frey just smiled and nodded slowly in response to me. To be precise, Frey looked a little reserved today. She didn't seem to be listening to the conversation.

"Frey!" I said in a slightly louder voice.

"Yes?" replied Frey in a loud voice.

I laughed at Frey's strange-sounding voice. Her face was red because I laughed.

“Leo, it might be best if you don't come for a while,” said Frey suddenly.

Hearing this made me ask why Frey forbade me to come. She had never said that before. But Frey just smiled. "Forgive me." With those words, Frey closed her bedroom window. I just stood there unable to do anything.

I came home confused. Can only stare at Frey's closed bedroom window. What happened to Frey?

Even though I don't understand what's going on, I intend to go see Frey again tomorrow. At least I'd like to hear Frey's explanation of this.

On the way home, I stopped by Edwin's house to pick up the vegetables he talked about earlier. Edwin's house is the exact opposite of mine. If my house is close to the south of the restaurant where I work, Edwin's house is to the north. Although it was a bit of a hassle to pick up the vegetables he wanted to give, I came home early tonight.

"Edwin!" I shouted at the entrance of his house. Within seconds, Edwin came out of the room and pulled me into his house.

"Why are you out at night? Didn't I warn you about the recent attacks?" Edwin said to me.

I just laughed and sat on the sofa there. Edwin also told me to stay the night. He looked genuinely scared that I would run into danger on my way home. Such a worried person. “If you insist … then let's have a drink together,” I said to Edwin.

Edwin happily took out a drink from his fridge. I spent the night forgetting for a moment Frey's slightly odd behavior.
