4. Frey Drucilla

In my memory, Frey has always been in that place. She never came out of her room. I never saw her parents either. Only a few maids were seen in the castle.

"Leo, aren't you afraid to go out at night?" Frey asked me. She looks worried for me. "Of course not. I'm so glad to have come to see you," I answered innocently.

At first, Frey wasn't very open when I arrived. She seemed a little reluctant to talk to me. Even so, I was always eager to tell her everything. Sooner, this made Frey more open. She started to smile and waited for me to come.

I also once asked her to go out to play. But she refused my invitation. It made me curious. "Frey, why don't you ever come out?" I asked. Frey fell silent hearing my innocent question. She looked confused and panicked when she wanted to answer. "Don't you go to school?" I asked again.

“I-I… can't get out of this place. I-I'm sorry," Frey replied sadly.

Frey looks lonely alone in this place. With full confidence, I stood on the tree with my arms outstretched. "You'll be fine. I will always come to play with you,” I told Frey.

Hearing my answer, Frey looks aglow. Since then, I never brought up anything that would make Frey sad. I never thought again about the awkwardness around Frey.

"Good morning Frey," I greeted as Frey came out of the bedroom.Frey who looked pale walked over to me.

“Good morning, Leo,” Frey replied in a low voice.

I talked to Frey that morning. About the identity of Frey who is not a human. With a serious face, Frey started talking about herself.

There are two types of vampires.Pureblood and mixed-blood vampires.Pure-blooded vampires are the original descendants of ancestral vampires.While mixed vampires are obtained in various ways such as marriage between humans and vampires, or other ways.Frey is a pure-blooded vampire who has a body that looks the same as a human.Even so, she also has strength that exceeds ordinary humans.

Frey could only eat something fresh, such as fresh animal blood or flesh. Of course including human blood. However, Frey can eat certain human foods. Frey also said that she had never sucked directly from a human. The first human to be sucked in directly by Frey was me. Because Frey was of pureblood, she could go days without drinking blood.

"Then, when we met that night, at the foot of the hill, why were you covered in blood?" I asked Frey, in a cautious tone.

Frey gulped at my question. She paused for a moment and turned her face away. “I was catching the rabbit that was supposed to be my dinner at the time. It ran away before I could eat it,” Frey replied, blushing.

Frey chased the rabbit to the foot of the hill.She felt very hungry and immediately ate the rabbit as soon as she managed to catch the rabbit.However, a woman who was passing by saw Frey covered in blood and screamed in fear.

Of course, the woman was frightened to see Frey. It also explains that the woman was not attacked by Frey. She wasn't even hurt in the slightest even though Frey was covered in blood. Hearing this serious but funny-sounding thing made me chuckle.

"Leo!Why are you laughing!"

"Sorry, I just imagined you panicked at hearing the woman's screams," I replied, holding back a laugh. Frey looks annoyed to see me laughing at her. She came closer and hit me with a frown on her face. I immediately grabbed her hand and smiled at Frey. "Thank God I trusted you."

“Thank you for trusting me,” Frey replied calmly.

I also asked about Frey's family. Of course also about the other vampires attacking the townspeople right now.

Frey seemed quite reluctant to talk about her family. She only said that they had been separated since Frey was little. Ever since Frey was left in the castle alone, Frey never saw her parents again. Frey looks lonely as she explains about her family. It made me feel bad to talk about it anymore. Nor can we get help from those whose whereabouts are unknown.

According to Frey, the number of vampires that exist today is very small. She had never seen another vampire besides her family. However, she had heard that several groups of vampires hunted humans for blood supply. It sounds a little cruel, but human blood is the main source of food for them. I also can't give them the slightest sympathy because I'm also a human.

I continued to ask Frey about the people who were after her. The people who chase vampires are a vampire extermination organization and the like. They are called Flower Skulls.

“Flower Skull…,” I muttered thoughtfully.

"Leo?" called Frey looking at me who was silent.

I immediately shook my head. Everything that comes to my mind is not necessarily true. I went back to talking about the Flower Skull with Frey. The organization operates in secret. They play an important role in society to eradicate the dangers caused by mystical creatures.

"So, besides vampires, there are other creatures?" I asked.

" I don't know either. However, many things in this world are still a mystery,” replied Frey. Frey has answered all my questions. Things that make me curious. Although there are still many things I want to ask him. But for now, I feel I know Frey better.

"So, what's next?" I said to Frey.

I can't let Frey return to the castle alone. The place was no longer safe because the Flower Skulls already knew the existence of vampires in that place. However, we also cannot stay in this place forever. Gradually these people will surely reach this place.

While thinking, Frey glared at me intently. Her eyes turned bright red like when she had lost control that night. It reminded me of something. "Maybe we should stay here. The people who saw our faces have only been the two people you attacked anyway," I said to Frey.

"What?" Frey was taken aback by my statement. “Are you okay with me living here? Even if I killed someone as well as a monster?” Frey asked me.

"What are you saying? Didn't you protect me from those people?" To me, Frey doesn't look like a monster at all. “I want to be with you, Frey. So you can stay here,” I added, touching Frey's cold face.

Even though she looked reluctant, Frey nodded her head. I immediately hugged Frey. I don't think I can hide my happiness right now.
