6. Where Are You?

I had a very bad feeling when I left Frey this morning. All of that became a reality when I set foot in the park near the apartment where I lived.

Some people asked residents. In the end, they looked at me and came over to me. “Excuse me, do you know of a girl with long hair? She's roughly about 165 centimeters tall and in her 20s?” Hearing this question made my heart skip a beat. However, the expression on my face remained calm. "Sorry, I don't think I knew that," I replied.

"If you see her, please call this number immediately," said the man behind the previous man. He gave me a business card. This man has an aura that looks different from the others. "If I may know, what is your name," said the man.

"Leo Hunt," I replied taking the card.

The man's eyes glared at me as soon as he heard my name. "You …." Just as he was about to speak, he suddenly heard a loud voice from somewhere else. "Bryn! Let's go," another commanded him.

They immediately ran towards the source of the sound. I was very relieved because I felt the guy named Bryn was looking at me suspiciously. “Bryn Parker,” I mumbled as I read the name on the card. The business card indicated that he was part of the Flower Skull.

Luckily, when I first brought Frey to my house, it was almost midnight. No one looked at Frey at all. Then since then, Frey also never left the room. It's been five days since that day. It felt like we were so safe that it made me feel uneasy. Even so, things won't change.

I guess I can't stay here anymore.

I walked at a very fast pace towards my room. When I opened the bedroom door, Frey was seen sitting in the living room watching the news on television.

"Leo, welcome," said Frey as she saw me walk in.

“Frey, it looks like the pursuers, Flower Skulls have tracked down to this area.

This place isn't safe anymore," I told her.

Frey didn't look surprised at all. As if she already knew that. She smiled calmly at me."Leo, I'm leaving this place."

"Then I'll go with you too," I said.

When Frey said she was leaving, I knew what she meant. She will go alone without me. I acted like I didn't understand this.

“Leo, you don't have to leave this place with me. If you go-"

"Frey!

I will go with you!” I cut off Frey as I was about to speak.

When I grabbed Frey's hand, Frey let go of my hand. She remained silent as she slowly shook her head. To Frey, maybe I'll just be a burden while she's running away. Not only that. I'm just an ordinary human who won't help her one bit. I understand that.

I turned my face away. Trying to cover up the bitter expression on my face because of the reality I'm currently accepting. I even bit my lip trying to calm down. "Sorry I'll just be a burden to you, won't I?" I said in a slightly harsh tone because I felt useless.

Hearing my words, Frey looked shocked. She couldn't believe the words I had just said. "No! I just don't want you to be in danger like before. I don't want to see you hurt again!"

“Then take me with you! I was more hurt when you left me!” I shouted selfishly. While crying Frey nodded her head slowly. I grabbed Frey's hand quickly."Really? Are you sure?"I asked in disbelief.

"Yes, I will go with you Leo," replied Frey.

We plan to leave this city at dawn. According to Frey, the Flower Skulls would likely hunt vampires at night. Of course, because the vampires are freer to move at night.

“Then, I will take care of something before leaving.”

I'm planning to submit a letter of resignation from work. Of course also to buy the stuff we need. Then, there is one place I must go to before leaving this town. However, I had a feeling that I should leave without telling him. Yes, it's better like this.

“Leo, you better get some rest before we leave,” Frey told me.

I looked at the clock on the wall of the room. It's midnight now. Maybe I can rest about two to three hours before leaving this place. The things I need have also been packed.

"Yeah, I'll do that." I stood up and looked at Frey who was sitting on the sofa. With a little hope, I tried to get Frey to sleep with me that night. “Do you want to sleep with me in the bedroom tonight?” Without thinking, Frey nodded her head. That took me a little bit by surprise. Frey followed me from behind. I turned off the room lights so that the moonlight that night illuminated the room.

"Goodnight Frey," I said to Frey.

“Good night, Leo,” Frey replied with a very sweet smile.

Around three in the morning, I opened my eyes. My hands searched for the whereabouts of Frey who should be beside me. The place she left was very cold. I stood up and left the room. "Frey? Where are you?" Call me yawning. I turned on the living room light. There was no response from Frey at all. "Frey?" Call me again while walking towards the kitchen and bathroom. Silence pervaded the room.

Frey was nowhere to be found. I was silent with a pale face. I moved into the room while turning on the light. I put on my jacket in a hurry. Just then, I saw something in my room. A letter lying on the table.

I opened the letter with trembling hands and a racing heart. Slowly I read the letter.

“Leo, I'm sorry for leaving without speaking to you. I just don't want you to get hurt when you're with me. To me you are everything. If we can meet again, I hope we can see those flowers bloom together. Thank you for loving me. Thank you for always being there for me. I will always remember you. Goodbye Leo. From Frey."

Reading a letter Frey left behind made my mind go wild. My chest feels tight so I hit the table hard. I ran outside with all my strength. Looking for traces left by Frey who just left. I ran all over the city with a panicked face. Frey's sign was nowhere to be seen.

“Frey, where are you…,” I whispered, standing up breathlessly.

The sunrise is starting to appear.

I felt very desperate for a moment when I saw the orange light that signaled Frey's departure. What do I have to do to find Frey?

I was forced to return home right then and there. I'm looking for clues about where Frey's escape is headed. Even so, there was no sign of Frey ever living in this place. As if Frey's existence these few days was just a dream. I feel like I can't hold back my emotions. However, to think right now, I had to endure both the worries and frustrations I was feeling right now.
