Chapter 3: Oh, Mariette

Mariette P.O.V:

This couldn't be real, there is no way in hell that this could be real?! How on earth are they like ... like ... like EVERYWHERE?! Everywhere I go, I manage to run into them. At least I know now that I wasn't crazy when I met them in the coffee shop and that, indeed, they were triplets. Were they stalking me or something? The four of us just had a stare down. My hands started to feel all clammy and I could feel everything inside of me was starting to melt away as I stared back into those blue orbs. The one in the front just looked on at me with so much emotion in his face. Only when I blinked a few times and allowed reality to come back to me, I realized they were standing there in just short and running shoes, no shirt on those abs ... those abs!!

I turned around in order for me to try and gain the upper hand in this situation and to keep my knees shut. "Don't the three of you own shirts?!" I managed to say, even though I wasn't regretting the image of them standing there without their shirts on. I just heard them chuckle. I rolled ym eyes, needing to get my shit together in my head. Was my mother really sure that they would be my destined? I have never heard of a vampire having three destineds, how would that even work? I still couldn't place what they are, they were definitely not vampires and they weren't humans. I seriously needed to talk to someone about this ...

Aris P.O.V:

My brothers and I went through the usual morning routine that we had at the pack. Wake up hell early and go to train with the warriors. My father always believed that all of the ranked males needed to train with the warriors. No matter what rank you held in the pack, you needed to all have the exact same skills. Our head trainer was a true lover of the traditions that my father had set out for the pack to follow. Hein was also in favor of making examples out of the ranked members to show the rest of the pack that we are not as invincible as the rest of the pack perceived us to be, and goddess have mercy on us the moment we failed or managed to be late for the training session.

My brothers and I decided to head out of a 'cool down' jog after we finished with training. As always, Hein managed to drill us to merely inches away from our deaths. He knew he couldn't kill us, likely leaving the pack without its Alphas, but he sure knew exactly where to push us to make sure we would remember whatever technique was taught to us. Hein wasn't originally from the Blackstone pack. He first came to our pack when all of the wars in the South ended. Hein had seen all types of fighting maneuvers and he knew exactly how to anticipate each move that one's enemy could make.

"Do you smell that?" Allec asked. I looked up at him, before I came to a standstill, needing to figure out what exactly he was smelling. I could catch the faintest smell of green apples, but it was far away. This was an unusual scent to have in this part of the forest. I looked over at Alex and saw he was stumped about the same scent. The scent was so familiar, but I couldn't exactly place where I had found it before.

"Let's go then!" Allec said, seemingly taking the lead on this one. That was what I loved about us being triplets ... we did and acted exactly the same, our thoughts were in sync without us even needing to say it out loud. I was the eldest, then Allec, followed by Alex. The three of us were Alphas together, but when we couldn't come to a full consensus, I was always the one who had the final say in the matter. We ran for what felt like forever to me, trying to catch up to the scent, but each time that it got stronger, the scent went away again. I sighed as it felt like we were going in circles. "Come on guys, each time we catch up, it disappears again!" Alex complained again. I just rolled my eyes at him.

"The only reason why you would want to go home is to grab a cold beer and a good fuck with ... wait ... who is the flavor of the week again?" I asked Alex, mocking him for being such a manwhore and giving us, as Alphas, a bad reputation in the pack and our neighboring packs. Alex, true to his fashion, gave me the middle finger, that was until something grabbed my attention, the scent was getting closer and closer.

I immediately started running east. I knew that the scent was strong now and we were unlikely to lose it again. We finally got so close to the scent that it had managed to intoxicate me completely. We finally managed to get so close that I knew we were just a few feet away from it. We finally managed to get into the clearing and there she was ... sitting on the ground in between all the flowers and grass, looking up at the sky. The three of us looked at each other, needing to find a way to handle this situation ... seeing as she practically ran away from us at the coffee shop. I looked at Allec and Alex and we nodded our heads, in agreement that I would be the one to take the lead on this.

I cleared my throat as I leaned back against the tree. I couldn't help the smugness from spreading across my face the moment she jumped up and turned around to face us. I would have thought she would see us immediately but she looked around the forest, trying to see where the sound came from. I instantly knew that she was a vampire when we met inside the coffee shop. But, I wasn't going to let that phase me. The moment her eyes landed on mine, I could see her face scrunch up as she looked at me, not knowing what to do. Did she even know that we were werewolves?
