Allec P.O.V
I couldn't even start to imagine what had happened back at Mariette's house. Her father did look a bit familiar to me but I had no idea where to place him. Poor Alex struggled with his back the whole night long. I suggested that he rather go to the pack hospital to have it checked out. We haven't had an encounter with a vampire in such a long time and Mariette's father had managed to throw Alex with quite some force.
"How are you feeling now, hmmm, love?" Rikka said to Alex. I almost threw up right there in my mouth by her actions and I was a little pissed off with Alex for not breaking things off with her ever since we met Mariette. I would have thought that the fact that he eventually met his mate about a year after we have come of age, he would be crazy for her, but clearly, he was keen to still keep Rikka around. She placed a cup of coffee right next to his bed as she got some cream and who knows what else to rub on Alex's back. "Allec, you know ... it would really make things easier on Alex if you and your brother just come to terms with our relationship. After all ... how would the rest of the pack react when they see that their Alphas and the future Luna are not getting along?!" Rikka said to me.
I just laughed at her, not completely believing the fact that she could be sane enough to think that she would actually become the Luna of our pack. There was no way in hell that either Aries or I would even be prepared to accept someone like her as our mate. I mean ... who would want to have a Luna that had managed to sleep with at least 90% of the male wolves in this pack? It would obviously be giving our pack a bad reputation. "Do you really think that you would be able to get passed Aries with your silly plan? No one would want to have a slut as their Luna, what example would you create for the younger pups, hmmm?" I said, snickering as I saw her face start to scrunch up from what she had just heard.
Before Rikka could do or say anything, Alex intervened. "Okay, the two of you! I am already in enough pain as we speak, I don't want another headache! Rikka ... would you please help me out here?" Alex said with his usual charming fake smile. I rolled my eyes and walked out to the balcony where Aries stood with a whiskey glass in his hand, overlooking the forest. This looked like a more sane environment than what was going on in the room.
"Is she still in there?" Aries asked me, his voice cold. It was clear to me that he was referring to Rikka. I just sighed as I walked over to the deck chair and took a seat, throwing my feet up on the railing of the balcony. "Unfortunately. Head nurse Rikka to the rescue and hell have mercy on anyone who dares to interrupt her care schedule she has for her patient!" I said, rolling my eyes. Aries snickered at my comment before walking over to the deck chair right next to me and taking a seat.
"You know her father, don't you?" I asked him out of the blue. Aries instantly knew exactly what I was referring to. Aries gripped his glass so tight that I would have thought it would shatter into pieces as his knuckles turned white. "Yep," he said, throwing the rest of his whiskey back in his throat. "I'm struggling to place him exactly," I said, looking at Aries, trying my best to get him to give me a clear and direct answer.
Aries sighed, looking over at me. "We were too little to know what was happening, let alone understand what was going on" Aries said, rubbing his temples. I looked at him questioningly, waiting for him to elaborate some more. "Come on man, you are going to have to give me a little more. The last time I could remember ever encountering a vampire, was when we were only pups and in pre-school still" I said, trying to think back to that day, but memory kept on escaping me.
"You might not remember but father always ensured that I had all the facts, and made sure that I kept all the memories in my head by constantly reminding me of everything. Our pack was at war with the vampires, the elders of both kept on trying to find a peaceful way for us and the vampires to co-exist in the city" Aries started. I stared off into the distance as he told me the story, trying to let the memories come flowing in. I remember something like that, I remember hurt and sadness, but I couldn't remember why.
"Go on," I said, looking back at Aries and hoping that he would be able to give me some more information. "Clearly, the witch who helped father back in the day did a bloody good job" Aries said, snickering at himself. Huh? What did he mean that father did a bloody good job? Aries saw me looking at him like he had managed to grow six heads or something like that. Aries sighed before going on with his story.
"When we were still pups, we actually lived in the city. However, the vampires also moved into the city, making co-existing a bit difficult. Seeing as they were out on drinking human blood and we were bound to protect the humans, there were often clashes between our two species. The councilors or heads of the species were supposed to meet up one night, but something happened. Mother and father were waiting in the town hall for the heads of the vampire coven. Before they knew what was happening, they were surrounded by more than ten vampires. Needless to say, they were clearly outnumbered, but you know how father is, he never gave up, no matter how difficult the situation was" Aries said. I could see the admiration in his eyes. He always wanted to be the type of Alpha that our father was.
Mariette P.O.V"Momma, can I ask you something?" I asked my mother as she still cradled me close to her chest and allowed me to let out all of my tears freely. "Sure you can, honey, what's going on in that little mind of yours?" my mother asked. I pulled a bit away from her, needing to sit up straight for a bit. I could feel a head ache start to arise from all the crying. I never even thought that I would have so many tears coming out of me."Why ... just please tell me why you and father don't want me to see the triplets again? What happened that was so bad? I just want to understand?" I said as I felt the tears start to rise up in my eyes again. I hated all of the secrecy that was going on. I knew deep down inside of me that there was more to this story than what my parents had let onto. My mother just sighed as she stood up and walked out of my room, leaving me alone with my thoughts. I just sighed as I pulled one of my pillows closer and pulled it
Mariette P.O.V I was still in so much shock by what my parents had told me. I was sitting on the balcony, overlooking the forest. I couldn't believe that it was true. The triplets seemed to be so gentle like it didn't even seem that they would be able to hurt a fly or something like that. I sighed as I stared deep into the forest, completely lost in thought. I knew that somewhere in that forest, the triplets were going about doing their thing. I couldn't understand that they could have been that vicious. They killed without reason and without having any mercy on my grandparents. I curled my legs up to my chest and rested my chin on them. I couldn't believe I managed to fall so hard and so quickly for them, without knowing how deadly they were. Before long, I felt the rays of the s
Mariette P.O.VI was born and raised like the normal vampire typically would. My parents raised me to know that we were the only supernaturals in the world. Werewolves, warlocks, and witches were just fairytales and the humans were the bad guys in the real world. That is what my world has been about, until about six months ago. Now ... now my knowledge of the world out there is completely unknown. Let me take you back.My name is Mariette Dermusk. If you haven't already noticed what I am. I am a vampire. A complete fool to believe everything my parents tell me. I was always raised to be the best in everything that came my way. I was always best in class when it came to my school work, I was always best in class during sports and I was always a daddy's girl, a "Goody two shoes" as my cousins would refer to. Whatever, they were just jealous since I beat them at literally everything.I was a good seventeen and eleven months old, and I would turn eighteen years old soon. Usually, at the a
Mariette P.O.VI was staring at Mrs. Kristen busy explaining some or other equations about trigonometry, but I couldn't stop my mind from drifting to those three I saw this morning. I struggled to place their scents. They weren't vampires, nor were they humans. I felt incredibly confused and most of all, I couldn't understand how three men could look so damn fine! I just sighed as I looked down at my page. I noticed that I unknowingly wrote down his name. I wrote down Aries in my book."Mariette, what is x?" Mrs. Kristen asked me, quickly snapping me out of my sinful thoughts. I quickly tried to scan through all of the contents that she had written on the board, trying to figure out where the hell we were in the sum. I knew that there were two other unknown values that we still needed to get. "I, uhhh, well ... x is ..." I started off. All of the other kids in the class turned around and stared at me. I saw some of them snicker and I knew that I was done for and this was most likely t
Mariette P.O.V:This couldn't be real, there is no way in hell that this could be real?! How on earth are they like ... like ... like EVERYWHERE?! Everywhere I go, I manage to run into them. At least I know now that I wasn't crazy when I met them in the coffee shop and that, indeed, they were triplets. Were they stalking me or something? The four of us just had a stare down. My hands started to feel all clammy and I could feel everything inside of me was starting to melt away as I stared back into those blue orbs. The one in the front just looked on at me with so much emotion in his face. Only when I blinked a few times and allowed reality to come back to me, I realized they were standing there in just short and running shoes, no shirt on those abs ... those abs!!I turned around in order for me to try and gain the upper hand in this situation and to keep my knees shut. "Don't the three of you own shirts?!" I managed to say, even though I wasn't regretting the image of them standing t
Mariette P.O.V:I just stood there ... my back facing the three of them. I couldn't even start to imagine what to do. Nothing in my entire life could have prepared me for all of this. I was a complete stranger when it came to these things. Yes ... my mother always loved to tell me about how my future destined should treat me and of how the destined bond would work, but I had never in a million years imagined that I would have three destineds. "You know ... you can really turn around. We won't bite ... I promise! Unfortunately, we live quite far away so the request for getting some shirts on would be a bit impossible ..." I heard one of them say.Obviously, they would say something like that! I spun around on my heels and just looked at them. I narrowed my eyes at the one in front and I instantly knew that if it was that all of this would have to develop into a bond, he would be the one that I would manage to bud heads with the most. I sighed and placed both of my hands on my hips. "So
Mariette P.O.VI walked into the house, still completely pissed off by what just happened in the forest. I had so many questions running through my head that still remained completely unanswered to me. I didn't know what to think of the entire situation. I only knew two things that were certain to me - The three of them weren't humans, and nor were they vampires. If they were vampires, I would have picked up on it immediately, and they didn't have the same scent that humans had. So, the question still remained to me, what species were they?I ran up to my room to quickly take a shower before I had to head on out to school. I knew that if I didn't hurry, I would likely miss breakfast and hell have mercy on me if I missed breakfast. The rule in the house was always that if I missed breakfast, I would most definitely not be able to take lunch to school. No breakfast always meant no lunch. Apparently, that was some sort of way for my father to discipline m
Mariette P.O.VFull lips ... three sets of lips committing each and every inch of my body to memory ... making it impossible for me to think clearly, making me feel things I never really knew were possible. How on earth could they even make me feel like this? "What's keeping that beautiful little mind of yours occupied, hmmm?" he asked, his voice husky and rough as he kissed my neck, blowing small breaths across my ear.Their small actions they did. Every touch they made to my body, sent goosebumps all over. I couldn't understand how they were getting this right. They were making me feel things I have never felt before. I looked up into his icy blue eyes, getting lost in them, loosing all my sense of reality and rationality as the words started to struggle to leave my mouth. They made sure that I was completely rendered speechless, unable to even utter a word from my mouth.Soon, the other one started to suck and nibble on an 'oh so sweet' spot on my neck, making me gasp for air as my
