MERRIN’S POV

I shoved my arms into the sleeves of my finest suit, and behind me Nolan sighed loudly, dramatically, like an old man forced to watch a disaster in slow motion.

“You’re not going to the office,” he muttered. “It’s just a friendly business meeting.”

I adjusted my collar with slow, deliberate precision.

“I’m not wearing this for the office,” I said. “I’m wearing it for dominance.”

Nolan pressed a palm to his forehead.

“Merrin… you’re meeting the Alpha of Moonstone Pack, not marching into a battlefield.”

“He needs to remember who I am.”

My voice came out cold and steady, the kind of tone other Alphas felt in their bones.

“And you need to remember it too.”

I faced the mirror.

Black suit.

Gold embroidery that glinted like caged lightning.

Buttons worth more than an entire warrior’s yearly salary.

A crown-shaped pin resting on my chest, burning under the lights like a small sun.

Good.

If Moonstone’s Alpha had eyes, he would understand the message.

A guard rushed in, panting.

  • Violet: Luna Of The One-eye Alpha    CHAPTER 48 – A Month of Hate and Longing

VIOLET’S POVI closed my diary slowly, the pen still warm in my hand. The chandelier flickered, casting a soft golden glow that danced across the walls of my room.A month.A month since I married Merrin. My greatest enemy. My tormentor. The man I should despise… and yet.Sometimes he was cold. Hard. Angry. The kind of anger that made my skin crawl.Other times, he was… soft. Tender. Confusingly loving. And every time, my chest tightened, my stomach flipped, and I hated myself for noticing.I hated him. And I hated that I didn’t hate him enough.I sighed and leaned back against my chair. My fingers traced the edge of the diary, over its worn leather cover, feeling the grooves worn smooth by years of thoughts poured into it.Some days, the palace felt like a cage.Commander Nolan… once kind, once gentle toward me… now barely looked at me without a chill in his eyes.Queen Helena hated me with a passion. Yet… somehow, I felt at peace around her. I didn’t understand it.Celine, Emily, Mi

  • Violet: Luna Of The One-eye Alpha    CHAPTER 47 – I Hate You, Violet

VIOLET’S POVI hadn’t felt like this in… ever. Not even with Nolan, the man I thought I loved. The way Merrin leaned on his elbow beside me, his face impossibly perfect, his hand brushing the hair from my face… I wanted to melt into him. Even though my head screamed that I should run. That I should hate him.But my body didn’t listen. The butterflies in my stomach weren’t shy. They were wild, twisting, flipping, like a storm trapped in my ribs. And the worst part? Every time I looked at him, I felt myself unravel.I hated it.Hated him.Hated the way he made me feel alive and terrified all at once.I pushed him off me.“I have to go,” I whispered, voice trembling. My hands shook, and my heart drummed like a wild drum in my chest. He didn’t say anything.I scrambled toward the corner where my blood-stained apron and dirty clothes lay. I grabbed them, shoving them over my body.I wanted to disappear. Wanted to fix myself. Wanted to escape this… this chaos. But Merrin was faster. He m

  • Violet: Luna Of The One-eye Alpha    CHAPTER 46 – Infertile Flowers

MIRELLA’S POVThe moment Alpha Merrin dragged Violet away… like a storm ripping the calm out of the air, the hall fell into a terrifying stillness.Too still. So still I could hear nothing but the violent drumming of my own heartbeat.Commander Nolan stepped toward us, Celine, Emily, and me.His face was carved with tension, his expression unreadable, the kind that made my stomach fold into itself. He bowed stiffly.“Lunas,” he said. His voice was low, but sharp enough to slice through bone. “You may hold your titles, but what happened today was obvious. Even if Lady Violet tried to take the blame… everyone saw the truth.”My chest tightened as though invisible hands were squeezing it.Nolan continued, tone dropping into something colder.“Thank the Moon Goddess that Alpha Merrin survived. If anything had happened to him, not one of you would be standing here right now.”The warning cracked across the hall like a slap. Then he turned and strode away.Celine scoffed, flipping her hair

MERRIN’S POVI woke to fire in my veins, pain screaming through my skull, every breath a knife carving me from the inside out. That’s when I realized…The food.It must have been poisoned. For a heartbeat, I thought it was Violet. But then she collapsed too. Crumpled beside me like a fallen bloom. So who could it be?I should have died the moment my body hit the floor. But I didn’t.Because she was there.Violet.My Luna.Just moments after I went down, I felt her body pressed desperately against mine, trembling, burning, wracked by the same poison tearing through my veins. Her scent, wild roses and rain, wrapped around me even as the world darkened.Unmistakable.Unavoidable.My mate.I could feel every shiver, every spasm of pain she suffered.I wanted to close my eyes, to drift into unconsciousness, to give in, but I couldn’t. Not while she suffered beside me. Not while her soft hands shook as she tried to help me, even as she herself was dying.Part of her saved me. Part of me sta

VIOLET’S POV The moment I reached the kitchen, the smell hit me first;A sharp, metallic scent, hot and wrong.Blood.Sophie and Zoey were both on the floor, bodies curled in pain, vomiting thick, red liquid.Three maids knelt beside them, pale and trembling, trying to hold them upright while shouting over one another.“Get water!” “She’s choking!” “Someone call the doctor… please!”My heart slammed against my ribs so violently I felt dizzy.“Sophie! Zoey!” I dropped to my knees, pulling them toward me.Their skin was burning. So hot it stung my palms.Sophie’s lips shook uncontrollably.Zoey’s eyes had rolled halfway back, white and terrifying.“Elder Ellis…” I fumbled with the small herb pouch he’d given me earlier. My hands shook. “Hold on. Please… hold on.”I crushed the herbs and forced them into their mouths, even as their bodies seized and convulsed beneath my hands.“Come on… come on… don’t leave me…”For a heartbeat… a horrible, suffocating heartbeat, the kitchen went qui

CELINE’S POVI sat on the soft velvet chair, my legs crossed, my fingers tapping against the armrest like they had a mind of their own.The room smelled faintly of lavender oil, but nothing could distract me from the tension tightening my chest.Emily sat beside me, wincing every few seconds as she shifted. Her face was red and swollen from the flogging she’d received earlier. All because of Violet. That girl had turned our entire marriage… our entire lives, into a nightmare.Emily pressed her palm to her ribs and let out a shaky breath.“Gods… it burns.”Mirella leaned closer and whispered, “Here, drink this.”She handed Emily a warm cup of herbs we’d mixed earlier. Steam curled upward, soft and earthy. It helped with pain.Emily swallowed it with a wince.“Mmm… better.” Then her eyes sharpened, flashing with anger. “And all because of Violet. I swear, if Merrin hits me again for her sake, I’ll…”I cut in quickly. “You won’t have to. Today ends her story.”Emily nodded, bitterness s
