CHAPTER 65

Sophie's POV

I ran as fast as my legs could carry me, my heart racing like a wild animal. I had just snuck out of the mansion, and now I was worried about what my dad would say when I got home. I had been thinking about what excuse to come up with, but nothing seemed good enough. I was so scared and worried that I could feel my heart pounding in my chest.

As I approached my house, I quickly shifted back to my human form and threw my clothes on. It was pretty hard and a bit painful, but I didn't want Dad to hear me; running in my wolf form was loud enough for him to hear.

I changed and, snuck up to the window and peeked inside. My dad was sitting on the couch, watching TV with a frown on his face and a drink in his hand. He looked really upset, and I didn't want to deal with it right now. I was already in enough trouble, and I didn't want to make things worse.
