chapter four

"Max, have you seen that Red and Felix both followed me on social media?" I asked her. She replied, "Really? That's interesting. I think they must have taken a liking to you. What are you going to do about it?"

But red told me that felix likes me. I was kind of shocked when he said that to me. "oh my, is red playing cupid between you and felix? I almost thought he likes you too," she laughed.

"Well, I don't know what to think. I didn't expect either of them to be interested in me. I'm just enjoying spending time with my friends and getting to know Xefora," I replied to Max. I felt grateful for their friendship but also a little nervous about the possibility of a romantic relationship with someone in the band.

"Iris, your life is going to be exciting now that xefora came into your life," she laughs once again on the other line.

"Yeah, I never thought this would happen," I replied, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness.

"Well, what are you going to do about it?" Max asked.

"I don't know," I said, feeling overwhelmed.

"by the way, max. I haven't seen you with lance lately. are you two okay?" i ask her. "Yeah, we're going on a rough road at the moment, but i promised we'll be okay," she answered. "I won't let you down on our relationship, you praised our relationship often and of course i love lance. I won't let him go"

"That's good to hear, Max. Relationships can be tough, but as long as you both love each other and are committed to working things out, it's possible to overcome any obstacles. Just make sure to communicate openly and honestly with each other," I said.

"just always remember that you can talk to me anytime, okay?" i said.

"Thank you, Iris. I really appreciate it. You're the best friend I ever had." Max replied gratefully.

"by the way how was isla? is she still sick?" max asked. Isla has been really sick this week. she's always absent from school.

"I haven't talked to her today, but she was still sick yesterday. I'm thinking of checking up on her later. She's been really down lately, and I'm worried about her," I replied to Max.

"anyways, iris, i'll be early at school tomorrow. i have a great idea about something. so i'll see you then," max ended the call without allowing me to ask her what idea is she talking about.

I smiled to myself and ended the call. I was curious about Max's idea and couldn't wait to find out tomorrow. I decided to rest early so I could prepare for the surprises tomorrow.

I thought i was able to sleep early tonight, I was surprised to see a message from Felix on my I*******m. I quickly opened the app to read what he had to say.

"Hi, Iris. I heard that Red said something about me to you. I'm sorry if it ever makes you uncomfortable."

I was a bit taken aback by the message but I quickly replied, "No, it's okay Felix. Red just told me that you liked me, that's all. Is there something you wanted to talk about?"

"I just want to say you look really pretty yesterday. I'm sorry I couldn't talk to you, i'm just too embarrassed but i'm glad that you seem to like red's company

"No problem, Felix. I appreciate you reaching out to me. Red is a great guy, but I also appreciate your kindness. It's okay to be shy sometimes. I hope we can talk more in person soon."

"I'm looking forward to it. Thank you, Iris." this was the last message he sent me. I kind of feel the excitement because, to be honest, it was Felix who first caught my eye at the concert.

it was already 2am when i fell asleep. Felix kept my mind running through circles. I laugh at that thought. I woke up early because I was curious about Max. When I went to canteen to meet up with her, I saw her with Lance. It looks like they were arguing, so I went near her when Lance left the place.

"Hey Max, what's going on?" I asked her, concerned. She looked upset, but she tried to smile when she saw me. "Oh, it's nothing Iris. Just a little argument with Lance," she said, but I could tell she was trying to hide her emotions. "Do you want to talk about it? I'm here for you," I offered. Max looked at me and then nodded, "Maybe it would be good to talk about it. Let's go sit down somewhere." I could tell she was still upset, but I was glad she was willing to open up to me.

"Lance was a bit cold to me for almost two weeks now. He's always angry and not in the mood to talk to me. He's been spending a lot of time with his new found friends that i felt like he forgot about me," max said. "I think you badly need to sort it out," i said, to be honest, i don't really know what to advice since i've never been in a relationship. "What if he wanted to break up?" she ask me with concerned eyes.

"Max, try not to jump to conclusions. It's important to have a conversation with Lance and express your concerns. Relationships take effort from both sides and sometimes we just need to communicate to get back on track. If things don't work out, at least you know you did everything you could to make it work. Just be honest and open with him."

"I don't want a break-up, Iris. I love him too much and it hurts me seei us in this kind of situation."

"I understand how you feel, Max. Relationships are never easy, but communication is key. Why don't you try talking to Lance and finding out what's really going on with him? It could be something unrelated to your relationship and he just needs to vent. Just make sure you listen to each other and be understanding." I suggested. "That's a great idea, Iris. I'll do that. Thank you for always being here for me." Max hugged me and thanked me for my advice.
