Chapter eight

Bella's POV

Public display of affection. I repeated in my heard, trying to figure this man out but as always I reached a dead end.

Leo did not leave my side until I decided to wear the slides that he had brought, to my dismay. He played charming fiancee very well and I commended him for that but I was not going to fall for his tricks.

"Oomf!" I said as Leo dumped me on my bed. "Can't you at least be gentle! I'm hurt you know!"

"I don't really care," he stated and I couldn't help but snort.

"Really?" I challenged and he nodded, "Says the guy whose been taking care of me ever since yesterday..."

He just shrugged and headed for the door. Ugh, the nerve! I reached for the nearest pillow and aimed it directly at his head.

He turned around and sent me a murderous look, I gulped. Wait, I gulped? I am Bella Blanca Parker Perez, I never get scared especially not by men. With that I stood my ground and glared back at him bitting my lower lip, suppressing a smile.

Leo tsk'd as he walked over to me. I grabbed a bunch of pillows shielding myself from him.

"Bella..." he warned taking hold of my arms as giggled uncontrollably, "You shouldn't have done that,"

Using one hand, clamped my arms on top of my head and used his free one to tickle my sides making me burst into uncontrollable laughter.

"Please...stop...Leo..." I said between laughs, trying to wiggle out of his grasp. I brought my legs which were tucked under him and took this as an opportunity to straddle him. He was taken off guard and took this as the opportunity to flip us over so that I was on top of him.

I grinned breathing heavily, not realizing the compromising position we were in.

Leo's POV

Bella caught me off guard when she straddled me flipping us over. She was on top of me, her hair falling to one side of her beautiful face.

My eyes traveled from her oblivious face down her waist to her legs which were straddling me. Her dress rode up to her waist, exposing the cleavage I was dying to see at the party.

I looked back up to her flushed face smiling so beautifully at me.

"Damn Bella!" I said at her oblivious form. A moment later she was bushing furiously trying to get off me. I took hold of her arms pulling her back to me.

I tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear looking at her carefully.

"Leo, please let me go." she said, her voice stern. Instead, I ignored her running my hands on her exposed thighs, my senses flicking on one by one.

"Leo..." she said in a bare whisper, "Please..."

"I'm not letting you go Bella," I said kissing a spot behind her ear and I felt her stiffen. Her hands were placed on my chest and I let her push me away.

"Whats wrong?" I asked breathing heavily collapsing to her side.

"I can't," she said her voice cracking at the end.

"You can't what?" I asked innocently, teasing her.

"This..." she said gesturing at us with her hands moving frantically.

"I don't speak in sign language Bella, so please can you say what you want to in a way I will understand." I said making her huff following with a hard glare my way.

"This is why I hate men." she bluntly stated.

"Then I'm going to make you love me out of men, this is a promise," I said as I got up from her bed grasping the tiny bit of self control I had left on me.

"I'd like to see you try," I heard her murmur but chose not to respond as I walked out of the room contemplating whether to go back to my own house or sleep on the couch, again.

Sighing I went to the living room retiring on the plush which couch.

Bella's POV

I watched him as he walked out of my room and let out a relieved sigh.

My body craved for his touch but I stopped him. I had to. Sighing, I placed my feet on the soft carpet trying apply as little pressure as possible as I walked over to my closet getting ready for bed.

I quickly removed my dress and decided to take a quick shower before sleeping. My body relaxed as the warm water caressed my skin, riding me of his intoxicating touch. I quickly put on shorts and a baggy t-shirt before going to sleep.

I tossed and turned on my bed as sleep refused to knock me out, frustrated I decided to go to the kitchen and get some water. I made sure that my feet padded softly on the floor, afraid that they could start bleeding again. I hummed a soft tune as I got down the spiral stairs wondering why the lights in the living room were still on.

I stopped dead in my tracks when I saw Leo sleeping on the couch.

"Leo!" I whispered shaking him slightly, but he did not bulge. "Come on wake up, Leo, Leo!" I hissed finally but he still didn't move.

Frustrated I walked to the kitchen and drew some water from the tap. I quickly went back to the living room grinning evilly. I pour some water in my fingers and drizzle the water on his face.

He starts responding to the feel of the water but soon ventures back to sleep.

At least I tried to be civil, I shrugged, whatever happens now, will not be my fault.

With that said, I poured the remaining water from the two litre jug onto his body.

His eyes shot open as soon as the water hit him but that didn't stop me. I poured the water till it's last drop as he cursed continuously, glaring at me.

"What the hell Bella!" he shouted finally deciding to use proper vocabulary.

"Took you long enough." I stated monotonously.

He looks at all confused so I nicely lay it out for him.

"You sleep like a log," I started noticing his fazed expression "Not to mention I tried to be civil but you couldn't wake up, I shook you, said you name ever so gently but you just couldn't budge, so I came up with a simple solution-"

"Dumping a full jug of water on me?" he interrupted but I shook my head.

"I went to the kitchen and took a jug full of water only to drizzle on your face but you still couldn't wake up, what can a girl do," I said in the saddest tone I could muster, "That was when I decided to ever so nicely spill a few droplets of water on you but my hand slipped and so, the water involuntarily fell on you, now get the hell out my house!" I commanded my tone hardening at the end.

He looked at me, his eyes roaming over my body making the momentum I once had fizzle out. He yawned loudly, rolling his eyes.

"Excuse me," he said, "got a little tired from your little speech over there. I hope you're done, cause next time we meet, it's payback."

With that he took long strides past me as he moved past me and left my house. Moments later I heard a car rev up and soon, the sounds died down and I was left in silence.

Sighing I went to the store room and took out a mop and mutton cloth to clean the mess I created. Satisfied with my work I quickly wiped the water off the sofa. And went back to sleep, this time, it came easily.

I paced around the small apartment rehearsing the words over and over in my head.

Scott I'm pregnant.

He will know it's not his...my mind reasoned out.

How? I dumbly asked my subconscious.

A) you are two months pregnant and you and Scott got married three weeks back.

B) you only got intimate after getting married so how will you explain yourself.

I let out a frustrated scream as tears rolled down my face. I slowly drifted from the apartment to a small dark room.

"It's all your fault!" a voice said.

"I died because of you!" the voice accused.

My heart began to ache as I recognized the voice, "Scott? Is that you."

"Shut up!" the voice snapped, moments later I was dragged by my hair and tossed into the flames.

"Scott, Scott please," I begged as I tried to stand up, "Please Scott, don't do this."

A liquid was poured over me which ignited the fire, and soon I started to burn while his menacing laughter filled the room. His face flashed in front of me, burnt. I let out a piercing scream as the flames began to consume me.

Third person POV

Mrs Williams was preparing breakfast for Bella and her son when she heard a scream from upstairs. Dropping her spatula, she ran to her boss's room.

She was having another nightmare again. Bella tossed and turned as tears streamed down her face. Not wanting to repeat the mistake she made the last time, she ran over to Dylan's room waking the sleeping boy up.

"Dylan, Dylan!" she yelled frantically, when the boy stirred she shook him more.

"Mrs Williams," he whined pulling the covers over his head.

"Dylan, it's your mom," she said gaining the young boy's attention, "She's having them again."

As soon as the words left her mouth, Dylan was already at the door sprinting to his mother's room. She was screaming as tears rolled down her face.

"Mom?" Dylan said as he approached her bed cautiously. "Mom it's me Dylan, please wake up."

Bella was still in her dreaming state whispering, "Don't take my baby away please..."

Dylan could not control himself, he started crying helplessly as he watched his mother. He jogged over to his room and took his phone to call Leo from the number he was given the day before.

The phone rang, without being answered. He dialed again this time, the phone was picked up on the second ring.

"Hello? This is Leonardo Mendoza, who I'm I speaking to?" the voice on the other end said in a professional tone.

"Dad?" Dylan hiccuped, "It's me, Dylan."

"Hey champ, what's up, are you okay?" Leo asked as the boy cried uncontrollably into the phone.

"It's mom, she's having a nightmare," he said into the phone his hands trembling.

"Can't you wake her up?" Leo asked.

Dylan bit his lip, debating whether to tell him or not, "She, she, she gets violent if we try to." he finally said.

"Don't do anything, I'm on my way." Leo commanded as he cut the phone.

Dylan went back to his mother's room and leaned against the door frame, helplessly watching his mom toss and turn on the bed.

Mrs Williams had gone back to work as Dylan paced around the room waiting for Leo to arrive.
