LOGINAndres's Pov.
I didn't have it in mind to attend the gathering, but Dad said it was good to show my face. I find it funny how he coaxes me, yet couldn't care less about my brother, Gary, but when I saw her, dressed prettily in her red cocktail dress, I just knew I had to have her.
But what if she's like the others?
Pretty, but lacking a lot upstairs, I had to be scared. I didn't want to get tangled with a beautiful woman with no brains.
However, the way she answered my question so smartly, I couldn't help but appear dazzled.
“Don't tell me you like her,” I heard Evans groan beside me, and I rolled my eyes.
“And if I do?” I asked, and he facepalmed.
“You? Andres Beaumont? Don't make me laugh,” He chuckled softly, and I smiled a little.
Evans was Gary's PA, but we had been friends since childhood, even before he got that job in our company.
“I heard Mr Beaumont saying that you would be the new CEO,” He started, and I sighed.
“I told him I wanted it to be Gary; he is way more fit for that spot…”
“We both know that is a lie. The company is in enough trouble already. If it gets handed over to Gary, then it'd destroy the company totally,” He snapped quietly, and I eyed him.
“You know you can get fired for this, right?” I asked him seriously, and he waved off the question.
“I don't care, after all, people usually don't agree with the truth,” He mumbled, walking away.
I rolled my eyes again, picking up another glass of champagne from a passing waiter, and sipping it.
“You look handsome as always, Andres,” I heard a voice which I recognized immediately as Stella, my betrothed.
“You flatter me with your compliment, Stella,” I said with a forced smile, and she smiled also.
“Care to dance?”
“Last time I checked, I'm the one who is supposed to ask you to dance,” I said with a slight chuckle, and she shrugged.
“Well, since you weren't willing to, I decided to make/ the first move.”
A normal person would have smiled, especially if it was someone who liked her, but I resisted the urge to frown.
“I'm not in the mood for dancing, Stella,” I told her politely, but I knew she wouldn't stop.
“Are you sure, I mean?”
“I said I'm not in the mood, Stella!” I snapped, and all eyes turned to us immediately.
I composed myself, releasing a little awkward cough.
“Not a nice way to treat your betrothed, Andres.”
“That would be Mr Andres to you!” I told her seriously, and she giggled.
“I don't have to be so formal with my future husband, do I?” She asked, and I nodded.
“Actually, you do,” I replied, wanting to walk away, only for her to say.
“You know you need me and my father, Andres, especially now that the company is in chaos. If I were you, I would be nicer,” She walked away sassily, and I sneered.
“What a pick me.”
Dropping the champagne glass, I headed into the mansion, only to meet Gary in the living room.
“You're having fun, right? After stealing my party,” I paused for a while, staring at him with stoic eyes before turning around and going upstairs.
“All you do is steal anyway, steal my party, steal my position, steal my company!” He yelled at me, and I gritted my teeth, trying to shut him out.
“I don't even want the shitty company!” I had the urge to yell back, but instead ignored it.
I knew better than to answer him; it'd only spark more chaos, and that I don't want.
Entering my room, I released my tie and let out a breath of relief as if I had just escaped from a tight space, maybe because I did.
I lay down for a while, wanting to rest my eyes before I do anything else, only to be swept away into dreamland.
I didn't realize I had fallen asleep until the constant beeping from my phone woke me up, and I grabbed it with a groan.
My drowsy eyes awoke instantly as I saw the message that popped up.
‘Rosaura Morales has been given the position of senior estate agent.’
“The hell!?” I gasped. From the picture, I could tell that it was the girl from yesterday, but how?
No one gets hired this quickly, no matter how smart or how influential you are.
She obviously used her charm to get that position, but that wasn't the only thing that surprised me.
For this message to be sent as a DM, it only means that she is under me, shit!
Well, we'll work out fine, as long as those weird sparks from yesterday don't continue, and that she doesn't have an ulterior motive.
I placed a call to my P.A, Jefferson, and he picked up after the third ring.
“Good morning, boss, are you coming to work today?” He asked, and I rolled my eyes.
Oh yeah, it's morning already.
“Yes, I am, but I would be a little late. We have a new senior agent on our side. Keep an eye on her.”
“A senior agent? How? We didn't get any files for the application, nor did we get any heads up! He said surprisingly and I sighed.
“Exactly my point, I don't trust her, so keep an eye on her, before I come at least,” I told him before ending the call.
I held my forehead, feeling pain.
My eyes grew dizzy, and I had to use my arms to navigate before finding my drawer.
Opening it with shaky arms, I took out the Dorsette box in it, removing the medicine in it, and swallowing it.
I stilled for a minute, breathing shakily with teary eyes.
“It'd all be over soon,” I reassured myself, wiping away the tears that nearly fell from my eyes.
I looked up at my mum's picture hanging on the wall, and felt the urge to cry again.
It'd all be over soon.
Rosa's Pov.I stepped out of the bathroom that early morning only to hear the beeping from my phone.Picking it up, my eyes widened on seeing the message that popped up.I have been accepted as a senior agent. Gawd, I love Quinn so much.I entered X immediately and sent her a DM, saying ‘thank you’ with a lot of hearts, and she replied almost immediately with a ‘you're welcome’.I smiled, guess she wasn't mad anymore.Entering my closet, I removed a well-fitted blazer, a pencil skirt, and a long-sleeved T-shirt.Putting it up, I sprayed on my perfume happily, only to hear another beeping.Carrying the phone, I frowned on seeing the new message.I'll be under a real estate broker, Mr. Andres.Well, I guess he isn't a Beaumont, just an opportune fellow.A smile appeared on my lips, and I wiped it off immediately. Why am I even happy?I can't let stupid feelings get in the way of what I'm trying to achieve.I sighed, picking up my satchel, which I had arranged earlier with things I would

Rosa's POV.“Can you see everything?” I asked Quinn over the microsized airpod in my ear and she sighed.“I can, told you the mini cameras would work” She told me in such a boastful way and I smiled.Looking around, I could pick out the elites and I fidgeted a bit.“Are you sure I won't get caught?” I asked Quinn, and I heard her scoff.“This is Rose speaking in you, shut her up and bring out Rosaura” She commanded and I smiled, always the girl to cheer me up.“Hello, Mi lady” I heard someone say behind me and turned to see a young man in a suit, recognizing him from the list of invitees Quinn gave me earlier. I knew he was the CEO of Maxwell's Corps, which he inherited from his father. “Good evening, Mr Enzo maxwell” I replied, giving a little curtsy.“You know me?” He asked and I nodded with a smile.“How wouldn't I know the outstandingly handsome CEO of Maxwell corps?” I asked and couldn't help but chuckle inwardly at the proud look on his face.Men would always be men.“Of cours
Rosa's POVPain was the first thing I felt when I regained consciousness. It crawled through my body like liquid fire.My eyelids fluttered open, but the world was nothing but blinding white light. The only thing that seemed oddly familiar was the sharp scent of antiseptic filling the air.For a moment, I couldn’t remember where I was until the memories came rushing back.Gary. The shove. The warm liquid slides down my legs. Was I dead already? Had I finally died from starvation… or the pain in my stomach? Was this some strange waiting room between life and whatever came next?My heart jerked violently in my chest, and I gasped, trying to sit up, but a sharp pain spread through my stomach, forcing a cry from my lips.“Easy,” a voice said quickly, and a man in a white coat stepped into my blurry vision.“Don’t move too much. You’re still recovering.”Recovering? My mind struggled to catch up.“Where… am I?” My voice came out hoarse.“The hospital,” the doctor replied.Hospital? I blink
Rosa’s POVTwo weeks. That was how long it took for my life to completely fall apart. Two weeks since I was expelled. Two weeks since my aunt slammed the door in my face. Two weeks since Gary Beaumont destroyed everything I had, and I began living off the streets, barely living. My body was growing weaker each day; even standing felt like a battle. I was barely feeding. My stomach cramped painfully as I walked down the sidewalk, clutching the thin jacket wrapped around my body even though it did nothing to prevent the cold.My reflection in a shop window made me pause. I barely recognized the girl staring back at me. My hair was tangled, my cheeks had hollowed, and dark circles bruised the skin under my eyes.I looked nothing like Rosa Caldwell, the school's brilliant nerd. Nothing like the girl from weeks back.I looked away as fast as I could, then continued my walk.I was starving, dying slowly, and there was only one person who had the money that could help me survive.Gary.My bo
Rosa’s POVThe video was playing right there on the large screen in front of the disciplinary board. The room was silent except for the muffled sounds from the video—sounds that made my cheeks and stomach twist with shame.Teachers, administrators, people who had watched me walk these hallways for years, people who had graded my papers, praised my assignments, and smiled at me in the corridors, were now staring at me like I was something filthy.Something shameful and disgusting“Turn it off,” I whispered. No one moved. My hands trembled as I clutched the strap of my bag. “Please…” My voice cracked. “Please turn it off.”Finally, the principal pressed a button on the remote, and the screen went black. The principal folded his hands on the desk and sighed. “Rosa Caldwell,” he called slowly.I stepped forward, trembling.“Do you understand why you have been brought here today?”I couldn't answer even though I knew. My life was over.“Rosa Caldwell!” He called sternly this time.“Yes,” I
