로그인Rosa's Pov.
I stepped out of the bathroom that early morning only to hear the beeping from my phone.
Picking it up, my eyes widened on seeing the message that popped up.
I have been accepted as a senior agent. Gawd, I love Quinn so much.
I entered X immediately and sent her a DM, saying ‘thank you’ with a lot of hearts, and she replied almost immediately with a ‘you're welcome’.
I smiled, guess she wasn't mad anymore.
Entering my closet, I removed a well-fitted blazer, a pencil skirt, and a long-sleeved T-shirt.
Putting it up, I sprayed on my perfume happily, only to hear another beeping.
Carrying the phone, I frowned on seeing the new message.
I'll be under a real estate broker, Mr. Andres.
Well, I guess he isn't a Beaumont, just an opportune fellow.
A smile appeared on my lips, and I wiped it off immediately.
Why am I even happy?
I can't let stupid feelings get in the way of what I'm trying to achieve.
I sighed, picking up my satchel, which I had arranged earlier with things I would need.
You could say I had expected it beforehand that Quinn would make it work this early.
Flagging down a taxi, I entered inside, told it where I was going, and heaved a sigh, rubbing my arms together.
This wasn't the time to fidget, nor be nervous, nor be scared.
I am actually doing this, and I'm going to make sure that nothing gets in my way.
I will ruin Gary Beaumont and everything he loves.
The taxi stopped in front of Beaumont Estates, and I stared at the tall building, my arms shaking again.
“You can do this,” I mumbled to myself, paying the driver and stepping out.
Applying more lip gloss on my lips, I regained my confidence, strutting in like I owned the place.
All eyes turned to me, and I kept muttering under my breath.
‘Be Rosaura and not Rosa, be Rosaura and not Rosa.’
I smiled at the people whom I walked past, their eyes filled with awe, who must be thinking that I'm some important personnel, fat chance.
I reached the elevator and stopped a cleaner passing by.
“Good morning, please, where is Mr Andres's office?” I asked.
“Third floor, ma'am, last door on the right,” she told me, and I nodded, entering the elevator and pressing the third button.
I knew where it was, in fact, Quinn had mapped out all the coordinates of the building for me, but there are Cameras everywhere, and getting there without asking anybody would only raise suspicion.
The elevator came to a stop, and I stepped out. The hall was empty and ghost-like, almost like the abandoned ones in movies, but I still walked on.
Getting to the last door, I knocked on it and heard a ‘come in’ from inside, definitely not the voice of Andres.
I opened the door and entered to meet a totally different man; he looked up to me and smiled.
“You must be the new senior agent, Rosaura. I'm Jefferson, Mr Andres P.A, nice to meet you.” He stretched forth his arm, and I couldn't help but feel disappointed by the fact that Andres wasn't in, but why?
“Nice to meet you, too,” I replied with a forced smile, and we shared a brief handshake.
“Please, sit down,” he said, and I took a seat on the chair behind the desk, while he took a seat on the armchair.
I took out my credentials from my bag, dropping them in front of him as he started going through them.
“So, it says here that you're a college graduate, but I can't find your certificate anywhere.”
He mumbled, and I smiled.
“I went to Fushan College, the one who suffered a lawsuit and got burned later, so I wasn't able to get a certificate, just a testimonial from the owner,” I said, pointing to a piece of paper, and he picked it up, going through it.
“You know that something like this could be easily forged, right?”
“If it was, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have been given this job,” I said with a still smile.
“You must have a lot of connections to be able to get a job here easily, let's say, a rich father? Influential mother?”
“I had already been interviewed. I don't see the need for all this, Mr Jefferson.”
I told him, and he nodded, dropping the papers.
“You are right indeed, but then I will be frank with you, my boss doesn't trust you at all, which means also that I don't trust you. If you try to pull any stupid stunt, I'll make sure you're locked in jail for life,” He threatened, and I chuckled inwardly.
“Whatever makes you sleep at night, Mr Jefferson?” I gave him a simple reply, and he nodded.
“Good, we understand each other,” He said, handing the files back to me.
“Your work is simple, since you're experienced enough to be a senior agent without promotion, then I'm sure you know what it is,” He said, and I nodded.
“Is there anything you want to ask me? If there is, do that right now because once the boss comes, I'll be extremely busy,” He told me, and I bit my lips, as much as I wanted to say no, I still couldn't help but ask.
“How do I win Mr Andres' trust?”
He stared at me for a moment as if thinking, and I immediately regretted asking that question.
“Our unit has been in trouble for a while now. If you can use your charms to sell enough estates, then I'm sure he'd do more than trust you,” He said, and I sighed.
Seems easy enough.
“That would be all then, thank you, Mr Jefferson,” I said with a small curtsy, and he smiled.
“Head to the second floor, and ask for Morgan Johnson; she's the one who would show you around.”
‘Not like I need much showing around,’ I wanted to tell him, but inside I replied with a quiet thank you, and opened the door.
In a couple of seconds, my breathing ceased as I came face-to-face with Andres.
My heart began pounding faster as his Gary eyes stared down on me, his cupid-bow shaped lips parted slowly as a word was about to come out of his mouth.
I waited, my eyes still looking up to me, my throat still moving violently.
“Oh, it's Miss phony”
I blinked immediately as what he said dawned on me.
“Who the hell did you just call phony?”
Rosa's POVI woke that morning, feeling very lazy, and it was a Monday morning. I was home alone. Quinn had travelled for three days for an I.T training. “Alright, let’s see what this chip has given us so far,” I said, scrolling through the files on my laptop. “It’s not flooded yet, but it’s steady. Gary is definitely hiding things. Big things for that matter. These transfers don’t make sense. And these late-night meetings? Something’s off.”I leaned back on the couch and sighed. “I should feel moved about this. We’re moving in the right direction. Why do I feel so… restless?”I picked up my phone and called Quinn.“Hey Q,” I said in a toddler tone.“Rosa! Finally. I’ve been waiting. How did the data look this past weekend?” she asked.“Pretty solid, actually. I’ve gone through everything the chip sent. It’s confirming what we suspected. Gary’s hiding a lot. There are encrypted folders he keeps opening, weird offshore movements, and meetings that aren’t on any official calendar. It’s
Andres's POV“Monday morning and I’m already on edge,” I muttered, gripping the steering wheel. “The medicine took forever to settle this weekend. It kept me staring at the ceiling for hours. And Billy’s words keep replaying… ‘Talk to her. You deserve something good.’ Talk to her? How? I’ve been turning that over for two days straight, and I’m still stuck.”I parked the car and headed inside the building. “Just breathe. Get through the day. One step at a time.”Jefferson was waiting near my office. “Morning, boss. You good? You look like the weekend kicked your ass.”“Morning, Jeff. Rough weekend, yeah. The medication settled more slowly than usual. What’s the latest on Meridian?” I asked, dropping into my chair.Jefferson sat across from me. “Update looks really clean and strong. Projections are up, client feedback is positive, and the risk section is tighter than last week. We’re in a good spot.”“That’s solid news. Walk me through the numbers again,” I said.“Revenue forecast is lo
Andres's POV“Shit… slow down, just slow down,” I breathed hard, sitting on the edge of the bed, gripping my knees so tight. “Why today? Come on… breathe with me. One… two… three… four. In… hold it… out slowly. I’m trying. I’m really trying here.”My arms kept shaking. I rocked forward a little, jaw locked. “Okay… okay, deeper breaths. One… two… three… four. You’re not falling apart. You’ve done this a hundred times. Just pass already, please. I need to get to work. Nobody can see me like this.”I exhaled shakily, flexing my fingers. “There… yeah, it’s easing up. Good. You’re alright, Andres. You’re fine. Get up. Put your shirt on. Tie straight. Look like the guy who just closed the Creston deal with his team. Nobody knows about your secret. They will never know.”“Morning, Jeff. Come in, close the door,” I said as Jefferson stepped inside.“Morning, boss. You got a minute?” he asked.“Always for you. Sit down. What’s going on?” I replied.Jefferson leaned forward. “Meridian proposal
Rosa's POV“Rosa, there you are. I’ve been looking for you,” Gary said, his voice smooth as he stepped closer to me near the elevator. “Everyone’s gone home already. Perfect timing.”I tilted my head slightly toward him, smiling softly. “Gary. You always seem to appear when things get quiet. What’s on your mind?”He chuckled, standing just close enough that I could smell his cologne. “You. All evening, I couldn’t stop thinking about how everyone was talking about how incredible you were. And at the celebration… that laugh of yours? Dangerous.”“Dangerous?” I asked, letting a light laugh escape as I looked up at him. “I was just celebrating the win with everyone. You seemed to be enjoying yourself, too.”“Oh, I was. But mostly I was enjoying watching you,” he replied, his tone dropping playfully. “You light up a room, Rosa. I meant what I said earlier. You and I should have dinner. Just us, you know ...Good food, better conversation. What do you say?”I pretended to think about it, bit
Andres's POV“Boss, we did it! Creston actually signed!” Jefferson called out, raising his glass high across the room.I stood at the edge with my barely touched drink, letting the warmth of the win settle in. “Yeah, we did. The team worked their asses off. Feels good, doesn’t it?”“Feels amazing!” Sarah from finance laughed. “Open bar tonight? My tab is on the company, right?”“Everything’s on the company tonight,” I replied, smiling slightly. “Drink up. We earned this.”The team was looser than they’d been in months. Laughter bounced off the walls. Someone turned the music up a notch. I let myself enjoy the moment, watching everyone relax for once. Then Gary walked in.“Parties already started without me?” Gary announced with that easy, perfect smile, sliding through the crowd like he owned the place. “Andres, my man! Congratulations on landing Creston. Hell of a win.”“Gary,” I said. “Didn’t know you were coming by.”“Couldn’t miss celebrating with the team. You know me.” Gary wink
Rosa's POV“Miss Morales, you remind me so much of my daughter. Same fire in the eyes, same way of cutting through the nonsense,” Mr. Creston said, shaking my hand firmly.I smiled warmly, squeezing his hand back. “Thank you, sir. That means a lot coming from you. I’m really glad we could find common ground today.”“You’ve got a good head on your shoulders. Not many young people do these days. Keep that up, and you’ll go far,” he replied, nodding with approval.“I’ll do my best. Thank you again for trusting us with this,” I said softly. The moment the door closed behind him, I let the smile drop completely. I started gathering my files and notes when Andres’s voice came from across the table.“Good work.”I looked up and found him already staring at me. For a second, neither of us moved. The air felt thick, heavy with everything we weren’t saying. I held his gaze, my heart beating a little faster.“Thank you, sir,” I said quietly, breaking the moment. I looked back down at my papers.

Rosa's Pov.The faster the cab moved, the more fearful I became about the fact that we were out of time.“Can you hurry up?” I asked, my legs tapping impatiently on the car floor.“I'm going as fast as I can, ma, any more than this, and we'll be heading for our deaths,” he said, and I tried to cool
