Ash nodded. "Yes, me," he repeated calmly, his voice even and strong. This wasn't an impulse decision; he had thought this through and had concluded this was the best scenario, the best way to ensure his family was safe. He had studied Alexander intensely when they had been enemies and his belief, based on how the King had acted during the war, was that Alexander wasn't cruel or sadistic like Authority.
