CHAPTER 32| MISERABLE WITHOUT YOU
I park my car outside Chase's penthouse building and heave a deep breath. From my window I stare at his penthouse and the lights were switched on. He's around and I'm nervous. My heart beat hard against my chest and I bite my lip. My hands are sweaty and I doubt if this is a good idea. Should I just start my car and drive out of this place? No, that's so cowardice of me. I just wanna know if he's okay or not. I just need to know why he's avoiding my class and nothing more. Plus, he's also my client and it's my duty to protect his ass. I've been called to drop by my superior's office on Monday but I've been avoiding the office. I didn't know what to say or do. I'm not ready for my boss and people who I work for to know about what transpired between Chase and I. I'm not ready to lose my job.

" It's illegal right?" I ask Chase. We're in my bedroom and he's yet to leave after dinner. My fingers play with the diamond necklace he bought me around my neck. I wake up to the smell of coffee, bacon and eggs in the air. Without being told, I know my mom's behind that beguiling aroma. It's Monday morning. The day all of this pretentious act that has to deal with Chase comes to an end. If I'm lucky, today should be a good day for me. Chase left last night and I don't remember him leaving my bedroom. When I woke up at midnight, I found a handwritten note by Chase, telling me he couldn't spend the night and that he had to leave. Attached with beautiful kisses and I love yous. I quickly take a shower and get dressed in a dark grey short sleeve dress. I slip my feet inside my pumps. I add a little natural make up and twirl around in front of my mirror. I look good. I grab my handbag and walk out of my bedroom to the kitchen. I am correct. Mom is in the kitchen eating bacon and eggs, with coffee on the side." Good morning, ma."
