Ronan's POV

Those words stuck in the air between us sounding more like a challenge than a threat. Something about the way she said it made it obvious she wasn't joking, like she had some kind of backing behind her but who could it be. It definitely wasn't any of my brothers.

Or was it Kaelia?

Did she tell her something about our little secret?

I stared her down. Lana. My supposed mate who didn't know what submission meant. This fragile looking breakable human who used to flinch at raised voices and cry over Dorothy's drawing was literally trembling in anger after threatening me like it meant nothing. She looked me dead in the eye and just promised retribution.

A part of me was pissed and mortified at the audacity the other part, probably this matebond between us was more in awe of admiration, an unwelcome thrill that seemed exciting.

She was learning.

We just stood there for a moment, my threat versus her promise.

"You," I said, my voice a low, controlled rasp, the calm a stark con

Lana's POV I was still reeling from what I'd heard from Zed and Jessica or Jessica. I wasn't exactly sure yet. But what I was sure about was something going to happen at midnight, today and I don't know if it is part of Ronan's plans or Jess' I decided I needed to tell someone about it. Ronan wouldn't believe me so Bastien was my next target. I felt my hands shaking as I grabbed onto the phone Gideon gave me. This phone would probably save us all tonight or send us straight into a trap. I fizzled with the phone till I saw Bastien's number. He would listen. He had to. I stumbled back into the lodge through the kitchen door, my breath coming in short, silent pants. I could hear Dorothy laughing upstairs with one of the younger warriors, Marek, I thought his name was. A good guy, always sneaking her extra cookies. Was he in on it? Were they all? I locked myself in the downstairs washroom, the smallest room with the thickest door. My fingers fumbled over the phone, pulling up the

Ronan's POV The silence in the war room was the loudest sound I'd ever heard. It was the silence of a clock ticking down to an unseen detonation. Jessica was in the wind, Lana was in an isolated location known only to a handful of my most trusted, and one of those trusted had just sold her location to our enemies. The beast inside me wasn't roaring. It was coiled, silent, and utterly lethal. This was no longer about passion or possession. This was a tactical extermination. "Find her," I said to Bastien, my voice a low rasp that scraped the air raw. "Take the Swiftwind unit. Seal the borders. Check every safehouse, every den, every bolt-hole her father might have established here. I want Jessica Blackthorn found. Alive. I want to know who she called, where she's running, and who she thinks is coming for my mate." Bastien didn't question the order. The revelation of a traitor within our inner circle had forged our fragile ceasefire into something harder. He gave a sharp nod. "She ca

Lana's POV Blackwood Lodge was less a lodge and more a stone fortress grafted onto the side of a mountain. It was beautiful in a stark, lonely way, all sharp angles and thick, ivy-covered walls. The air was colder, thinner, and so quiet you could hear the wind mourn through the pine trees a mile away. It felt less like a sanctuary and more like a very scenic prison. Dorothy, bless her, saw it as an adventure. “We’re in a castle, Lana!” she’d chirped, her little hands pressed against the cold glass of the massive living room window. “Are there dragons?” “No dragons, sweetheart,” I’d said, forcing a smile. “Just… quiet.” Quiet was the worst part. In the manor, even locked in my room, there was the hum of footsteps, distant voices, the pulse of the pack. Here, there was only the wind, the crackle of the fire, and the heavy, watchful silence of the six wolves Ronan had sent with us. Zed, the one in charge, was a mountain of a man with a face that looked like it had been carved fr

Ronan's POV The scroll issued hasn't even passed as it still stayed in my pocket but the unsettling thought of Finn was engraved in my memory. On his way to the infirmary, I cornered him after the pack address. “What happened with Lana last night?” The question was a blade and I asked it bluntly. Finn, who was gathering supplies didn't even look up. “I checked on her. She was scared. We talked.” “Talked.” I let the skepticism drop. “Your scent was all over her. The bond was screaming with her guilt. Don’t lie to me, Finn. Not now.” He finally set the cloth down, meeting my gaze. His usual levity was gone, replaced by a stark, challenging intensity. “Fine. I kissed her.” The admission, so blunt, hit me like a physical blow. The beast within roared, surging against my ribs. The armory seemed to shrink, the air thickening with the promise of violence. “You what?” “I felt it, Ronan,” he said, his voice low and earnest in a way that was more terrifying than any taunt. “Wh

Ronan's POV We moved to another room where we planned strategically. The maps on the table were no longer abstract representations of territory but were battlefields. The four red markers placed across the Black River in Night Fang land were not just missing wolves. “They were waiting,” I said, my voice flat. I traced the river’s curve on the map. “This wasn’t opportunistic. Jessica herds our feral, unstable wolves to a specific extraction point. Night Fang warriors, who just happen to be on a border patrol at the exact right time, collect them. This was coordinated. Pre-arranged.” Bastien leaned over the map, his finger stabbing at our side of the river. “She had help inside. Someone gave her the patrol schedules. Someone made sure the right guards were looking the other way. This was too clean for one outsider to pull off alone.” The idea of a second traitor, a pack member, was a sickness in my gut. But he was right. Idris stroked his beard. “This moves the threat from a d

  • Wanted By The Alpha And His Brothers   Chapter 46

Ronan's POVThe woods were thick with the scents of the confused wolves. We’d found eight of the twelve, dazed and aggressive, about to prey on innocent humans. It had taken strength and patience to subdue them without lethal force, to herd them back toward the kennels where heavy sedation awaited. Bastien had fought like a demon at my right hand, silent and brutally efficient. Every movement was a reminder of his skill, of the brother I had trained beside since we were boys. The brother who shared only half my blood. The remaining four had been driven deeper, toward the Black River. We tracked them to the water’s edge, where the scent vanished. They’d likely crossed, fleeing into neutral territory. A problem for another day.As we turned back, the first grey light of dawn staining the sky, the silence between Bastien and me was a physical weight. Idris moved between us silently.“We need to talk about the security breach,” Idris said, his voice cutting through the sound of our boots
