I felt on top of the world. I could not believe what was going on right now. Lucia finally agreed to be in a relationship.

It was all I ever wanted, and I couldn’t stop my heart from fluttering every chance it got. I was currently in her home, and I never felt happier.

Her home was so cosy and warm that I wanted to live here forever. It didn’t matter that I lived in a mansion that cost hundreds of dollars, Lucia’s apartment felt more like home than the mansion ever did.

I looked around the room with a gentle smile on my face. It was tiny, but the size didn’t matter. The walls were painted beige with low ceilings.

Sunlight streamed through the windows, which were covered with white curtains, casting a warm glow all over the room.

Near the window was a double-sized bed, and on it were cosy looking pillows and a fluffy blanket.

Next to bed was a medium-sized vanity with a mirror propped up on it and a couch looking chair in front of it.

On the floor was a beige rug, which matched the color of the wall. The room was clean and super organized, just like the rest of the house, and when I took it into my heart’s delight, I headed into the bathroom.

I took a nice quick shower and dried my body before heading out of the bathroom. I wasted no time wearing my clothes, which Lucia had already laid out for me on her bed before heading to the living room.

“Hey you.” I said to Lucia with a small smile as I settled next to her on the couch. She was currently cosied up on the couch with a blanket, watching some TV.

“Hey.” She answered, returning my smile as I sat next to her. We cosied up to each other as I covered us both with the blanket, and my heart fluttered as she settled into me.

I had never felt happier. This was honestly the best way to spend the Saturday. I was just beginning to settle into the show, which was playing on the TV when my phone rang loudly.

I let out an annoyed groan before reaching for it. I didn’t want my time with Lucia to be disturbed, but at the same time, I knew the phone call could be important.

I picked up the phone and rolled my eyes as Aaron’s name flashed across the screen. He was so damn annoying.

He even managed to call at a terrible time, and what was most surprising was that the asshole almost never called.

I ended the call immediately, dropping my phone in annoyance before snuggling back onto the couch with Lucia.

“Who was that?” She asked, and I could not help but let out an annoyed sigh.

“Noone important.” I answered, and that seemed good enough for her because she fell silent and continued watching TV.

After a few minutes, my phone rang again, and I could already tell that it was Aaron. I let out a groan, pressing my fingers to my temple.

“Jeremy?” Lucia said, looking at me with slight concern written all over her face.

“Just ignore it. It’s my idiotic brother.” I answered, and her beautiful brown eyes gleamed with slight curiosity.

“Oh? I didn’t know you had a brother.”

“I do, and I’m not kidding when I say my elder brother has to be the biggest idiot on the planet.”

Lucia chuckled brightly at that, the sound blessing my ears as her eyes shone brightly.

“I take it you two don’t get along well?”

“We don’t and I don’t think we ever will.” I sulked, and it made Lucia laugh even more.

“Pain in the ass is an understatement. You don’t have siblings?” I asked after noticing something off in his statement.

“Well, from what I have heard, siblings can be a huge pain in the ass.”

“They honestly are. You don’t have siblings?” I asked, feeling something a bit off about her response.

She shook her head. “I don’t. I’m an only child.” She responded. There was something disturbing about the way her face fell, and it instantly made me think that something was wrong somewhere.

I didn’t know if she was ready to talk about it, so instead of probing further, I instantly gathered her in my arms, pressing a kiss to the top of my head.

She smelled like soap and shampoo, and it made me relax instantly. She brightened up and hugged me back, relaxing against my chest, and everything was perfect till my phone rang loudly once again.

“Oh, what the fuck?!” I growled, feeling my anger bubble to the surface.

Luca let out a laugh, pulling away from the hug. “Just pick up and see what he wants.”

I let out a loud sigh, pinching the bridge of my nose. I really didn’t want to speak to Aaron, but I knew that was the only way to get him to stop calling.

“Fine,” I groaned. “I’m so sorry about this.” I apologized and Lucia gave me a smile which nearly melted my insides.

“It’s okay. Go ahead.”

I nodded, before picking up my phone. The call had already ended at this time and I wasted no time calling Aaron back.

“What?” I growled into the phone once the call connected.

“You little shit. How dare you ask me what, when you refused to come home last night? Where the hell are you?!” He yelled, making my eyebrows instantly furrow with displeasure.

“At my friend’s place. Where else would I be?” I answered, lying through my teeth.

“You’re sure you’re not at that Professor’s place?” He asked and I instantly glanced at Lucia, hoping that she did not hear that.

From her neutral expression, it looked like she didn’t.

“I’m not. Now leave me alone!” I yelled before hanging up. When the phone went dead was when I finally realized that I forgot to ask him something.

“Shit.” I muttered under my breath before dialing his number.

“What?!” It was his turn to yell and I couldn’t help but roll my eyes.

“Is dad home?”

“He won’t be home for a few days, doofus.” Aaron gritted out before hanging up and I couldn’t help the smile which spread across my lips.

If Dad wasn’t home, it meant that I had even more time to spend with Lucia under less scrutiny. Sweet.

“Is something wrong?” Lucia asked, raising her brow and I instantly shook my head.

“Nah, it’s all good. He just wants to know where I was last night.”

“I hope he doesn’t suspect anything.” Lucia said with concern on her face and my insides instantly clenched with guilt at the thought of lying to her.

“No, he doesn’t. He thinks I’m at his friend’s house.” I answered, the guilt flooding my insides intensifying.

Aaron knew about Lucia and I, but I couldn’t tell her that. It would mean the end of a relationship that we barely even started.

I was more surprised at the fact that Aaron had not told dad yet. It was clear that he was just biding his time and waiting for the right moment. That asshole.

“Come on, Lucia. There’s nothing to worry about.” I said, pulling her against me as we continued watching TV.
