24 || Good as Strangers

With the rain falling on her, interrupting her gloomy thoughts and Shane pulling her, Lilian got back to reality. She followed Shane to his car running but by then both of them were almost soaked. Shane held out a towel to Lilian and he took another one.

As Lilian dried her hair, Shane stared at her face for a moment. Her sad face didn't go unnoticed by him and thinking he was the reason behind it, he also felt sad.

His voice was solemn as he said, "Lilian, I am sorry."

Lilian stopped and turned to him, "You didn't do anything to say sorry. I was thinking about something else. Anyways, I think your granny won't force you to marry Lahaina anymore. So, why don't you stop all this and be truthful to her?"

Shane shrugged off, "She will start searching someone else for me in that case. You don't know her. Once she sets something in her mind, she never settles without making it."
