FAZER LOGINAlexie’s POV
Pak! My mother’s hand connected with my face, sending an intense pain surging through my flesh. I stepped back and stood firmly, staring at her with full confidence. “For twenty years, Alexie, we have all looked forward to this day that Alpha Rafe would crown you as the future Luna and all you could do is humiliate and reject him in public?” She yelled, anger burning through her mind. But was that the only thing they saw in the scene or just what they wanted to catch a glimpse of? Didn't they see and hear the part where Skipper is pregnant for Rafe? Actually, I wasn't surprised at all. My parents would do worse than that because their entire life had been built on sending their daughter off to the Alpha bloodline as a Luna so that their status would be raised from the lowest rank to the highest. “Your father was promised to be the next training commander, Alexie…” She fumed, lunging towards me. However, I didn't lift a step, I stayed where I was, waiting for whatever she wanted to do. Besides, I was no longer afraid of anything because the betrayal had taught me a great lesson. “As far as I know, I am not the only daughter you've got.” My mum suddenly stopped in her tracks. “You can send off Kiara to continue from where I stopped since the Alpha bloodline is what you are after!” “Hey!” My little sister, Kiara, snapped from the stairs. “Do not include me in this, Alexie, I am not a drug vessel! By the way, didn't I warn you that Rafe was only using you?” Of course she did, but what did my parents do? They punished her for telling me the truth. Now I was paying the price of being stupid. She walked past me, hissing loudly. “Deal with your pain alone, sister!” Mum grabbed my hand fiercely, her grip burning my flesh. “You are a disgrace to this Family, Alexie. Because of you, your father is on the sick bed right now. And you know what? He wants me to deliver this important message to you.” She released my hand, picked up a paper on the desk, and flashed it in my face. “This is proof that you belong to this family but from today…” She tore it into pieces then tossed them on my face. “You are no longer our daughter! Go find another parent! Or go apologize to Rafe and we will consider you again!” My heart ceased beating for a second and my entire body froze in shock. I never saw that coming. I didn't know they would do that to me. After everything I had done for them? After all the years of listening and doing all they wanted? Just because I rejected Rafe, they want nothing to do with me again. Well, no problem with that. The world is big enough to accommodate everyone. If their wish is to cut ties with me, then it is welcome. A subtle smile tugged at my lips as I collected myself. “Thank you for all you've done for me, Mum, but even in my next life, I will never apologise to Rafe. So…” I bent over and picked up the luggage that she had thrown at me earlier on. “Goodbye.” As I found my way out of the house that was once my home, a place that felt like heaven, a place that was filled with love, care, and support, tears streamed down my face. I was deeply disappointed in my parents for choosing that cruel way to punish me. Weren't they the ones who had promised to love me until they ceased to breathe? Weren't they the ones who had showered me with love and affection? So those were all because I would become the Pack’s Luna someday and their status would be elevated. As I walked through the busy street unsure of where I was going, whispers fell on my back. Whispers audible enough for my ears not to miss. “Look how pathetic she is…” “Alpha Rafe would have made a terrible mistake making her our Luna.” “She should be grateful that the Alpha’s family welcomed her. Who is she? Just a weak Omega who shouldn't have a place in this pack in the first place.” “I wish the Alpha would banish her entire family from stepping foot into this pack.” “Thank goodness he crowned Miss Skipper as the future Luna before leaving the grand hall, she is more fit than this thing over here.” I swallowed the lump in my throat and waved down a taxi to get away from the mockery and cruel words. “Where to?” The driver asked but I had no idea. I just wanted to get out of there, to leave the pack and go somewhere that would be safe for me. “The train station.” I finally said after a thorough thought about it. And as the taxi drove away, I rubbed my belly, sighing deeply. No matter what, I must make it in life, give my baby a happy life, and live the life I have always imagined. Rafe or no Rafe, I must win and when he comes begging, I would make sure to give him the taste of his own medicine.Alexie’s POV My eyes snapped wide and my hands started trembling, and I didn’t know when the phone slipped off my fingers. Grover knows about Freya? “It appears Mr. Grover has been digging deep into your life in the Silvermoon pack, Ms. Brown, he also knew who you were before you went to the Lunskye pack for the meeting.” I was shocked beyond words when my assistant reported it to me the next day after I was back at the Silvermoon pack. For years, I have tried my best to keep my daughter out of sight yet someone was smart enough to get that information. If he could go that far just because he was seeking my collaboration, what else could he not do? I should have made a thorough investigation of that man before even agreeing to go to a meeting with him. And now that he has found out about my daughter, what could I do to stop him from informing Rafe? Before he ended the call yesterday, he made it clear that he was going to inform Rafe about the child if I made a mistake b
Alexie’s POV Bestie? What an insane lunatic. If I were Skipper, I wouldn’t have allowed myself to cross paths with the person I wronged. And she wasn’t even ashamed to seek my help again. Her audacity pissed me off so much that, for a moment, I was tempted to remind her exactly why she had lost the right to call me her best friend. How dare she! No. How dare they! Also, she must be out of her mind to think that I wasn’t over Rafe by saying she would release him for me if I helped her. Maybe if Mr. Grover hadn’t hinted to me that Rafe was desperately trying to get into business with me, I wouldn’t have figured out what they were doing there. “Alexie?” I couldn’t ignore the voice I just heard because the familiarity of that tone was so strong. I paused on the stairs, turned to my left and I wasn’t mistaken, the voice belonged to someone I had known for years before leaving the pack. “Oh my goodness! It’s you!” She tried to come closer, but the bodyguards with me blocked
Rafe’s POV Alexie’s presence awakened something deep from my soul—the feeling that died following her disappearance from the pack. I didn’t know why that was happening, and I couldn’t control it either. But the anger I had stepped out of the car with had just vanished into thin air and I stood in front of her, with only three steps between us. “Look who we have here.” Her voice jolted me back to my senses, and as I opened my eyes, Alexie looked at me with disgust. “Are you already here to crawl at my feet? Isn’t it too early, ex-mate?” Her mockery sent waves of anger circulating in my bloodstream, making the feelings I had felt earlier disappear in an instant. “You must have been continuously replaying that impossible scenario in your mind that is why you think it is possible.” Crawling at her feet for what reason? For a second chance as she had mentioned? To hell with that. “Your delulu has made you fantasize about the impossible, lady, so get your head straight and a
Rafe’s POVSkipper sat across the dressing table, slowly applying makeup while I buckled my shoelaces. She has been constantly sick these days so we were going to see a professional doctor who just transferred to the Lunskye pack to examine her.Seven years have passed, and nothing about her health has improved. I can even say things only got worse because she keeps having miscarriages and I am afraid that Skipper won't be able to produce an heir if this keeps on.Her first pregnancy was aborted by the doctor because he said keeping it would cost Skipper her life. After all, Alexie refused to help her seven years ago. However, that was in the past but even with that, my heart always burns with rage whenever I remember that moment and how much pain Skipper had to endure. She turned around slowly, her face plastered in makeup. A few months ago, that makeup would have made her look prettier but this time, she looked like a mannequin.“How do I look?”She asked, trying to pose so that I
Alexie’s POV“The trip is tomorrow, Ma’am, do you want to take the private jet or the public plane?”My assistant asked, scrolling the schedule tablet in her hand. I looked up from my phone, a subtle smile plastered across my face. Finally, the day had arrived that I would be going to that pack after years.Seven years came so fast, but not fast enough to erase the hardship I went through after relocating to the Silvermoon pack. They said when you are new to a place, you would be treated like a very important figure, but my case was different. Coupled with the fact that I am an Omega from another pack, life only got worse. No one wanted to employ a stranger to work for them, nobody trusted me with anything, landlords kicked me out of their houses when I couldn't meet my monthly rent, and worst, I almost dropped out of school when I ran out of my savings.Nevertheless, I didn't give up, I fought so hard, showed them I was worthy to do any job, and after a few months of working as an i
Rafe’s POVEver since Alexie stepped foot out of the grand hall, no one has heard from her. I had thought she would return to the mansion to at least pack her belongings, but she didn't.I was even ready to punish her for humiliating me in public whenever I set eyes on her, but she chose to stay far away from me and the mansion.Well, that wasn't the case. What bothers me the most is the fact that Skipper has been so sick and only Alexie’s blood matches hers.I have sent the bodyguards to turn the pack upside down yet none of them could find her. Skipper has been in the hospital for hours now, battling for her life, and even in critical condition, she wants to see Alexie—to apologize to her.“What about the penthouse?”I asked one of the bodyguards who went out in search of Alexie. “There is no way she wouldn't be there. Bring her over here as fast as possible!”After ending the call, I returned to the VIP ward Skipper was admitted to, my heart palpating in rage. But before entering
