Chapter 1: Sister

Celeste Louve Ylva’s Point of View

The moon is so dazzling that I can't take my eyes off it. Her delightful moonlight traveled to our planet, the Lycanthrope, and she was providing us with a gorgeous night. The stars were blinking as though they were trying to get your attention while simultaneously supporting the moon by shining magnificently and providing light to our planet.

The wind also entered the picture, appearing softly and gently, allowing the grass, trees, and flowers to dance elegantly to the beat provided by the breeze.

Birds and crickets began to sing, harmonizing with the moon, stars, trees, grass, and flowers that surrounded them. Finally, the grand entry of the firefly provided me with a breathtaking view from my window.

"What an incredible view," I said quietly. My lips gradually gained a curvature. While looking at the ambiance, my eyes twinkled.

"This is so magical," I declare as I sip my coffee, admiring the night sky and the incredible beauty of our planet.

When I heard a knock at my door, I blinked many times. I was so focused that I failed to notice any footsteps.

I cleared my throat before turning to face the wolf who interrupted me, "Yes?"

She bowed slightly, "I apologize for interrupting you, Ma'am."

"It's okay," I said, shaking my head. "What's the deal with the unexpected visit?"

"Your father arrived Ma'am, and he's waiting for you in the living room," she said. I nod and place the cup on my desk before standing up.

"All right. Tell the other maids to fix my bedroom so I can rest later and please fix my study table," I said as I stepped out of my study area.

I can hear my father chatting to my mother while walking. I'm not sure what's happening with their unannounced visit, but I'm hoping it's good news.

"Princess!" my mother screamed as she accidentally peeked towards the door. She rushed to her feet and threw her arms around me before inspecting my figure with her judgmental eyes.

"Oh my! You appear to be skinny! We let you live on your own, but that doesn't imply you'll be this skinny! Do you still eat?" she said loudly making my eyes roll.

"I'm not skinny, Mom. I merely tone my physique by working out and avoiding carbs. I'm making an effort to eat more vegetables and fruits," I stated. Her lips formed a narrow line as if she didn't like what she was hearing.

"You still require meat!" she yelled.

"Oh my goodness! Did you hear your daughter? She is attempting to consume veggies and fruits. Why is she avoiding meat while she's a werewolf?" Her gaze was drawn to my father, who simply waved his hand in response.

"It's her life, and she wants to be healthy, so let her live it. She's an adult now," Dad justified his point of view. This is something I appreciate about my father. I constantly seek his advice on this, and he lets me do anything I want. He also encouraged me and provided me with several good suggestions.

My mother simply glimpsed away from him and resumed her book reading. I just sighed as I glanced at her. I know she's worried about me, but I promise I'm doing just well. That's probably how a mother always reacts to her daughter.

"Let's take a seat, Dad," I said, sitting in front of them and trying to absorb them.

They are now 100 years old, yet they still appear young. I suppose that's how werewolves are, immortal like vampires and other living things.

"So, what's the deal with the unexpected visit, Dad?" I inquired.

"Your mother is concerned about you, and we miss you. We haven't seen you in months, and we can't even come to the office since we know you have a lot of meetings and paperwork to do. If you're here at your house, we can chat to your butler. I apologize for not informing you," Dad stated.

"Dad, I don't mind you and Mommy visiting me at the company," I shook my head and chuckled lightly. "Simply call my secretary and she will notify me if you need to check on me."

"I know, but we don't want special treatment," he added, making me laugh out loud.

"Dad, you're both special and you deserve that treatment," I told them, smiling. My mother avoided my gaze and wiped her tears away from her face.

She yearned for my sister, I knew. They both missed her, as do I. We have no idea what happened to her. When she went missing, I was in my teenage years. She was still young at the time. She is a 5-year-old wolf who mysteriously vanishes.

We searched for her but couldn't identify any evidence of her. Even her fragrance vanished, causing my parents to have an anxiety attack. They both blame themselves for allowing one of our maids to care for them, but that maid also vanishes. She stole my sister, and every time she comes to mind, I can't help but cry. I miss her. How can we forget her if there is no sign of her?

It's been 15 years, and I'm now a 30-year-old werewolf in charge of our business. It was difficult at first because I was unable to focus, but I wanted my parents to be able to enjoy their lives, which is why I took over the firm even though I couldn't concentrate.

After speaking with my parents, I offered to let them stay at my home. I don't want them to go somewhere else, especially since it's already midnight. I ordered my servants to prepare my parents' room.

When my parents announced that they were leaving, all of the maids accomplished it. They didn't want to stay at first but eventually gave up.

I wish my sister was here so we could bond. We'll watch movies, I'll teach her how to bake and run our café, and we'll take a road trip every evening.

"Can we still find her?" I murmured as I lay down on my bed but I instantly stood up when I heard a loud noise coming from my window so I glanced at it and saw a shadow there. I used my speed ability to look for the creature who dared to invade my privacy but to my surprise, it was now miles away from my house. The creature was wearing a red cloak and in just a blink of an eye, she disappeared.

Who’s that? Why did that creature try to invade my privacy? Is it a werewolf or a vampire?

"Good morning," I greeted my parents as I approached them in the dining room. Before eating breakfast, I kissed their cheeks and headed to my seat.

"Do you have any appointments today?" Dad finally broke the silence.

"Nothing, Dad," I said as I wiped my lips with a tissue and swallowed the meat. "Today I just have papers. I imagine tomorrow will be all about meetings. As a result, I'll be quite busy tomorrow."

"Remember to take a break tomorrow, Celeste. I'm telling you," Mom warned, and I agreed.

"Of course, Mother. Our health is more important." We finish our lunch without speaking. The only sounds you'll hear are those of the utensils and our plate. I still can’t forget the creature who invaded my privacy. I don’t want to conclude but there are only three creatures in my mind. Vampire, Goddess, Fairy.

But what I am confused about is why can’t I smell its fragrance. My nose can smell and distinguish it but how did it happen? What kind of sorcery is that?

“Good morning, Ma’am Ylva.”

“Good morning, Ma’am.”

“Rise and shine, Ma’am!”

“Have a beautiful day, Ma'am!”

Employees greeted me while there’s a smile on their faces. I just nodded my head at them every time they greeted me as I walked.

“What would you like to drink today, Ma’am?” Calliope, my secretary asked.

When I entered the elevator, “Milktea, dark chocolate.”

My secretary nodded her head as if she was taking note in her brain, “What about snack, Ma’am?”

“Nachos. Thank you, Ms. Coinin,” I said when the elevator opened.

“Bring it to my office,” I added before I left the elevator to enter my office.

I didn’t know what time had passed but my nape started to ache so I stopped reading the papers and rested my back for a minute while massaging my nape.

"Please accept your milk tea and nachos, Ma'am. I apologize for using mayonnaise as your nacho dipping sauce. I also put a chocolate donut here, Ma'am, just in case your snack isn't adequate," Calliope stated as she placed my meal on my desk. I'm not upset with her for adding another snack in response to what I've stated. It's simply odd that she always adds another snack.

"Thank you so much. You, Ms. Coinin, should take a break as well," I said.

"Certainly, Ma'am. I will," she murmured as she hugged the tray.

"Ma'am, by the way. Your sandwich and iced coffee will be ready in an hour," she said, making me groan. I'm still not used to having a snack every hour. I'm on a diet, but whatever. Every week, I can increase my workout.

"All right," I murmured, closing my eyes. Oh my goodness, my nape! This is what I despise every time I have to do paperwork. It's always my nape if it's not my back.

While trying to relax my nape, I shook my head and ate what my secretary had given me. I still have a lot of paperwork to accomplish today so I can focus only on my meetings tomorrow.

I'm not overworking, but I'd want to have a lot of free time in the next few days so I may rest when I'm at work.

Even if there is no deadline, I have to sign and read all documents. I also need to inspect the cafés, restaurants, and even my store to see where I can improve.

Being busy is beneficial, especially because I don't want to be disappointed again every time my sister comes to mind. I miss her, but how can I focus on reality if I'm constantly thinking about her?

In front of my parents, I need to be strong. They need a strong daughter so that they can rely on me. I don't want to be an extra burden on my family. I need to work hard so that we can locate her.

When my vision began to blur, I shook my head. Rather than crying out, I proceeded to study the paperwork in front of me.
