Chapter 5: Mess

After that scenario, my senses became oblivious. I don’t what to do. There are so many circumstances that keep on bursting into my head that I come to be paranoid. I can’t even trust my guts now because I’m not sure when will they ambush us.

I can’t even communicate with my mate because of my problems. How funny it is, right? Because even if he’s my mate, I still dispute his trust which I shouldn’t because I know, deep inside my heart, he’s deadly serious about me and he loves me so much that no matter what happens, he’ll choose me.

“Ma’am Ylva, are you okay?” my butler asked upon arriving at my residence.

“Yes,” I answered nonchalantly.

My butler shrugged off his shoulder as if he were not convinced of my answer so he cleared his throat and gestured his hand to the maids who were listening to us to leave us here in the living room.

“You seem to be in deep thought and I apologize for intruding on your troubles, Ma’am, but I know that it’s an enormous dilemma, and you want to deal it with on your own,” he uttered causing me to let out an intense breath. “But please share it with me so you won't have to endure it all alone, Ma’am.”

“It’s a kinda massive crisis and I don’t know how to connect all of it,” I opened up.

Aside from my butler and my investigator, I also trusted all of my knights. I don’t also think that I can trust my maids, especially since a vampire who wore a maid uniform abducted my sister.

“Last time, I saw something outside my room and it’s wearing a red cloak. Therefore, I saw a silhouette outside of Sebastian’s office, literally in his window but when I tried to attack that, it disappeared,” I whispered.

“I feel like they are giving me hints or they are the ones who abduct my sister.” My butler was just looking at me with a hint of confusion in his face.

I can’t blame him, though I hid those incidents because I thought I could bind that information but every time I tried, I couldn’t find the answer that I’d been looking for. It is all messy because I don’t know the root of this crisis.

Everything happens for a purpose. It’s either they are taking their vengeance on us or they prevail over a misinterpretation. I’m confused because of all the werewolves if they are taking their vengeance on us, why did they target my family?

“My investigator gave me information before then sent me the other aspect of the footage and the culprit is a vampire because her fangs are shaper than us,” I announced.

I heard him huff in shock that he didn’t expect it to be like that, the dilemma of my clan is all about a vampire. Because of this information, my mind has been thinking lately about how unfortunate my clan is. There were so many conflicts that even my clan vanished and every time I asked my parents about that, they answered that they didn’t know.

Is it even possible? Both of them have no relatives but we have a high reputation in this world, the Lycanthrope. I'm torn between my sister’s disappearance and their clan. I think that the possible cause of this is business since they were all jealous of my parents’ success but about the vampire, I don’t know the circumstances.

My parents hiding something and I don’t know why they are doing this. Is it hard to share everything they know so I can connect everything? Or they are also their alliance and that’s the reason why they are hiding the important details for me to track my sister?

“You need to be with your Knights, Ma’am. It’s too dangerous especially since you are also powerful in the business world. They were all looking at you and wanted to bring you down so they could advance your position in this society,” he explained.

For some reason, he’s right. It’s too dangerous for me to get out of my residence without their assistance and I also need protection even if I know how strong I am. Not because I’m an Alpha, but that doesn’t mean that I can slash them all in just a blink of an eye. I still need someone to look after me so I can freely do what I need to do because I still need to locate my sister.

“Relay that to the Knights,” I commanded and decided to sit on the couch.

“As you wish, Your Highness Celeste,” he said before leaving the room.

Now that we have come up with a solution for my safety, I can finally be at peace for a second even though we still don’t have a clue about the creature in the red cloak and the silhouette on Sebastian’s window. At least, it will lessen the danger to my existence in the meantime while I’m still looking for a clue to locate my sister.

It’s complicated for me to find the answer and history for this matter because I have no clue. I didn’t even know where to start because she easily got access to our house without sensing her scent that she was a vampire.

What confused me the most was how she entered our world without getting suffocated. As far as I remember, they have a limit to access the Lycanthrope because of the air that we possess. If werewolves entered their world, we could adopt the air in just a period because that’s our ability.

“Your command has been released, Your Highness Celeste,” he said.

I diverted to my thoughts that I didn’t hear his footsteps and the door creak. Good thing, he’s one of the most trusted alliances that I have so there are no conflicts about that.

“Good. Now that my existence is immediately observed, do you have any clue how the vampire didn’t suffocate in our world?” I asked.

I need his opinions since his knowledge is much better than I am. Our age gap is far more than my mate so I’m sure that he knows something about the vampires than I have because I had no interest in their existence not until they abducted my sister.

“They can’t adjust to the air of different worlds unless with the help of the witches. Since sorcerers are also divided into two, the bad sorcerers and the good sorcerers, they can easily adjust to it if they cast a spell on that creature to accomplish her task,” he answered.

“Does it mean, the vampire had a sorcerer to attain her desire to enter our world?” I assumed.

“Yes, Your Highness. Although wizards are hard to locate especially since they don’t want to meddle in someone’s conflict. They know how powerful the vampires and werewolves are that even if they have a lot of spells in their book, they still have a limit since their mana isn’t that enormous,” he explained.

It’s my first time learning about the wizards and their limits. I thought that, once they have spells, they could easily use them but upon hearing from him that they have a limit to their mana, I can’t imagine them being powerless even though they have a lot of spells in their book.

However, this is not the right time to be calm because every time I hear his opinion, there are a lot of possibilities coming to my mind especially since wizards are also one of the culprits why my sister is missing. If Vampire and Wizards are the explanation for my sister’s disappearance then it’s a mess.

“This is a mess. A big mess,” I mumbled and closed my eyes trying to process everything. “All I want is to bring back my sister but why do I have to go through with this messy obstacle of my life? Why can’t I just live peacefully?”

“Ma’am, don’t worry. We’ll be able to locate your sister. I’ll try to contact my brother regarding this matter so we can gather the evidence that we need to obtain,” he assured but I just smiled painfully.

I appreciate the effort that my butler doing but I need to locate my sister now. It’s been fifteen years and that’s already freaking long! I have to double-time everything, as much as possible.
