Rafael stood in the hospital corridor, his breathing still heavy. His sharp gaze carried a heavy burden the look of a man who had just witnessed the final meeting between a father and his child. On a long bench not far from the ICU door, Aurora sat hunched over, her face buried in her hands, her shoulders trembling as she tried to hold back her sobs. Rafael took a deep breath and walked toward her carefully.

Without saying a word, he sat beside her. His large, warm hand reached for hers, gently trying to offer some comfort. Aurora turned to him, and the sight of her red, swollen eyes made his heart ache.

“I… I hate all of this, Rafael,” she whispered, her voice trembling. “I hate seeing Rey cry like that. I hate watching my father in handcuffs right after hugging his own son.” Her voice broke, and tears streamed down her cheeks again.

Rafael looked deeply into her eyes, then exhaled slowly. “I’m sorry, Aurora. I know… this hurts. But I can’t just let Edgar walk free. He has to pay for

The ballroom of the luxurious hotel was filled with golden light from sparkling crystal chandeliers, creating an elegant yet warm atmosphere. Round tables covered with white tablecloths were decorated with vases of roses and soft-scented candles, while classical music played softly, accompanying the guests as they enjoyed the reception that had just begun after the moving wedding ceremony. Aurora looked around, her eyes glistening at the sight of so many people who had come to celebrate their happiness. “I still can't believe this is real,” she whispered to Rafael.Rafael smiled softly, patting his wife's hand. “It's real, Aurora. You're my wife now, and starting today, we're going to start a new life.”They walked together to greet the guests. Marissa, who now looked fresher and more confident, stood near the table with Reynaldo. The boy smiled brightly, his face looking much healthier than it had a few months ago. When Aurora knelt down to greet him, Reynaldo immediately hugged her

A year had passed since the dark times that once bound Aurora and Rafael’s lives. Many wounds had slowly healed, and together they had gone through countless journeys to rebuild the trust and happiness they had once lost. Tonight was proof of all their struggles a night where their love was officially united, in front of their closest loved ones, in a luxurious hotel ballroom sparkling with crystal lights. The ballroom was elegantly decorated. A massive chandelier glimmered like thousands of diamonds, casting warm light throughout the room. Round tables draped in white with gold accents were neatly arranged, adorned with bouquets of white roses and softly glowing scented candles. The air was filled with the fragrance of fresh flowers, creating a romantic and graceful atmosphere. Soft classical music played from the corner of the room, performed live by a group with violins and a piano, adding a sacred touch to the ceremony.Guests began to stand, turning their atte

A month had passed since that tearful night. Reynaldo now looked healthier, though his body still appeared fragile. His small smile had started to return, as if his spirit for life was slowly rekindling. At the airport, Aurora stood close to Rafael, watching Marissa fuss over arranging their luggage neatly on a trolley.“Thank you for everything you’ve done,” said Marissa with a trembling voice, her eyes glistening as she looked at Aurora. “If it weren’t for you two, I don’t know how I could have made it through all this.”Aurora shook her head, then gently held Marissa’s hand. “Don’t say that, Marissa. You and Rey are part of this family too. We just did what we should have done.”Marissa gave a faint smile, then glanced at Reynaldo, who stood beside Rafael clutching a small robot Aurora had given him. “I don’t want to burden you both by staying in the same city. I feel like… I need to go home. Back in my hometown, Rey can get fresh air, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. I

The atmosphere at the prosecutor’s office felt busier than usual. The sound of quick footsteps echoed in the long corridor, accompanied by the clattering of typewriters and the ringing of telephones behind office doors. Rafael stood in front of the large glass door, clutching a brown folder tightly. His expression was serious, his eyes reflecting layered unease. Not long after, Haris appeared from inside. “Mr. Rafael,” he greeted in a low voice, as if trying to ease the tension. “What you said last night… are you serious?”Rafael locked eyes with him and gave a firm nod. “I didn’t come here for small talk, Haris. This meeting will be brief, but it’s important.”Haris exhaled, trying to grasp the weight clearly written on Rafael’s face. Before he could add anything, a middle-aged prosecutor in a neat suit emerged from his office. His face was stern, exuding authority.“Mr. Rafael, Mr. Haris… please, come in.”The three of them stepped into the prosecutor’s spacious office, though the d

Aurora stepped out of the ICU with slow, heavy steps, as if every movement carried a burden too great to bear. The glass door closed automatically behind her, and the cold air of the hospital corridor greeted her instantly. Her face was pale, though she tried to keep her emotions in check. Rafael and Marissa, who had been waiting on the seats along the hallway, immediately turned toward her.Marissa, her eyes swollen from crying, quickly stood up. “How is Rey?” she asked anxiously.Aurora took a deep breath, forcing a faint smile even though her heart still trembled with the weight of Reynaldo’s last words inside.“He… seemed fine. He opened his eyes for a moment and even smiled. That’s a good sign, Marissa. You need to stay strong.”Marissa covered her face with both hands, sobbing softly. “Thank God,” she whispered over and over, as if trying to convince herself.Aurora stepped closer, gently taking the woman’s hand. “Rey needs you more than
