Chapter Fourteen

The next day was Sophia Cortez’s first day at work, but she didn’t have to leave the house until the evening.

David Cortez said he was feeling much better, and he can’t feel his back ache anymore, Sofia persuaded him to stay back in the house and rest more but he declined and insisted on going back to work on the farm.

Sofia knew her father to be very strong and hard-working but she just wanted him to relax his muscles, she feared his condition might get worse, and by the time he would be admitted to the hospital it might be too late.

Evening came and Sofia got ready to go to work, she needed to go early so she would be introduced to the other employees before the club is open for customers to troop in. After all, Noah once told her “First impression matters”.

She decided to take the bus to work as she didn’t have enough money to order a ride to work.

She pondered on how her first day at work would look like, she was already aware that it was going to be hectic but she prayed silent
