Ch.41 First Encounter

I opened my eyes to the sound of a bird chirping outside my window. It was still early and I could go back to sleep a little more but thinking that today was the day of the celebration, I jumped out of bed to get a head start. I looked at Marie and she was still sleeping.

Not wanting to waste any time, I walked out of the room and found Jack waking up while Kevin was in the kitchen preparing breakfast.

I went into the bathroom for a quick shower and by the time I got out, Marie was up and they were all sitting together and waiting for me to have breakfast.

I was getting nervous with every passing minute and it showed on my face and my trembling hands how worried I was. 

“You look nervous,” Jack said out loud as he pour
