Chapter 5

作者: Lucky Dreamer
Solvar's wild laughter cut off abruptly.

His dark-gold eyes locked onto me, and his pupils shrank to pinpoints.

The air froze solid.

Lying on the ground, Cassian forgot to cough up blood and just gaped at me.

Seraphine and Elowen held each other up, their eyes full of bewilderment.

I rolled my neck, and my bones popped loudly.

That blow had felt no stronger than someone giving me a shove.

Aside from a hole in my clothes, it hadn't even left a red mark.

I took a deep breath and pushed off

BOOM!Deafening thunder roared through the heavens.Nine colors of lightning crashed down on me relentlessly.Down below, everyone from the Aetherfall Order covered their eyes, unable to watch the horrific sight. But deep within the storm clouds, I narrowed my eyes in pure bliss."Ah, yes, right there. Hit my left shoulder a little harder."Ooh, that one on my lower back really hit the spot. So good."The nine-colored bolts left my whole body feeling loose and relaxed.Under the lightning's cleansing, my body grew purer and more flawless.A few minutes later, the commotion in the storm clouds grew weaker and weaker. The lightning seemed to have tired itself out, and it turned limp and feeble.I grabbed the last purple bolt and sucked it right into my mouth. Then I let out a satisfied burp.I'd drained the entire storm dry, and the clouds completely dissipated. The sky turned clear again. Then a giant crack split open across the heavens.Celestial music drifted down, and

"Aurelia!"Aldric and my seniors let out heart-wrenching screams. To them, I was throwing my bare flesh against a blast that could level mountains. I was as good as dead. The demon core exploded in my arms.Destructive energy equal to the peak of the Ascendant tier poured out wildly. But just as that energy was about to spread, the dark-gold markings all over my body blazed bright, and the Titanblood power inside me surged into motion.I tightened my arms and used my ridiculously tough body to force the shockwave back in.RUMBLE—A sound like muffled thunder echoed inside my chest. My gut burned, and my insides churned violently. But I clenched my teeth and pressed down hard on that raging ball of energy with both hands."Behave yourself!"I roared and squeezed hard with all ten fingers.Crack, crack, crack—That world-destroying energy was forcibly compressed, again and again. Finally, as everyone watched in stunned silence, I rolled that energy into a perfectly calm go

Solvar completely fell apart.I'd soaked in the Sunfire he was so proud of like it was a hot spring. The divine artifact he treasured as much as his own life had burst the moment I stretched. How was he supposed to fight that? Not even bothering to pull out the bronze shards stuck in him, he turned, tore open a rift in space, and tried to flee back to the Wildspine Range."Running away?"I let out a cold laugh and vanished in an instant. Now that my body had crossed the mortal threshold, my speed had broken free of the limits of space itself.Solvar had barely set one foot into the rift when I appeared behind him.I grabbed one of the golden wings on his back and heaved with both arms.RIIIP—Amid a shower of golden demon blood, I tore one of his wings clean off."Aaargh!"His face twisted in agony, and he plunged headfirst from the sky, slamming into the square.I dropped from above and planted one foot on his chest. The tremendous impact made the whole main peak sink an

It was pitch-black inside the cauldron.Thick, blood-red mist surged in from every direction, intensely corrosive.I could hear Solvar's arrogant laughter outside."Hahahaha! Once you're inside my Devouring Crucible, even an immortal come down from the heavens wouldn't make it out in one piece!"Within a quarter of an hour, that useless girl will be nothing but a puddle of blood!"Outside, Cassian pounded the ground in despair until his knuckles were torn down to the bone.Dragging his broken bonded sword, he limped toward the Crucible and hacked at it like a madman.Sparks flew everywhere, but the bronze cauldron didn't have a single scratch.Ignoring the backlash, Seraphine coughed up her own lifeblood again and tried to carve an explosive ward onto the outside of the cauldron.Elowen hurled every pill in her storage pouch at the lid, hoping to blast open even the tiniest gap.Even Aldric crawled out of the rubble, tears streaming down his old face as he wove a spell with h

With the sun-bird revealed, the very sky changed color. The air around us was sucked dry in an instant, and the temperature soared at a terrifying rate. The flagstones of the main square began to melt into bubbling pools of lava. The elite demon soldiers who hadn't fled in time were roasted to ash before they could even scream. This was the true might of an ancient, pure-blooded great demon.Sunfire, which burned all things.Cassian closed his eyes in despair.Seraphine and Elowen bit down hard on their lips, their eyes dull and hopeless. In the ruins, Aldric struggled to lift a blood-soaked hand, his voice hoarse."It's over... Everything the Aetherfall Order built... is gone."Solvar circled overhead and beat his enormous wings.A sky-filling torrent of dark-gold flame came sweeping toward me."Die!"The flames swallowed me in an instant.Cassian let out a heart-wrenching howl."Aurelia!"I stood at the very center of the sea of fire, surrounded by blinding golden lig

No dazzling swordplay.Just pure, raw physical strength.Solvar snorted coldly, irritation flashing in his eyes.He was a great demon from ancient times, and a mortal without a drop of aether dared to challenge him?He raised his right hand, fingers curled into claws, and swiped at the top of my head with enough f
