SERAPHINA

His lips crashed against mine with a force that stole my breath, claiming me as though he’d been waiting for this moment his entire life. The kiss was messy, raw, desperate, like he couldn’t get enough. I melted into him, my body responding before my mind could catch up. His hands tangled in my hair, pulling me closer, deeper. I could feel the heat of him, the wild energy that pulsed through his veins, making every touch burn. His tongue met mine with a possessiveness that made my heart race, I gasped, pulling him even closer.

For a moment, nothing else existed but us, our bodies pressed together, our hearts thundering in rhythm. When he finally pulled back just enough to meet my gaze, his violet eyes burned with hunger. “I love you, Seraphina,” he murmured, his voice low, rough, and trembling with desire.

“I love you too.”

Before I could even breathe, his lips crashed into mine again, deeper, harder, as if he feared I might disappear. His hand roamed over my body, heat foll

Not really sure but he could need her in the sense because it says something about his body decaying. Maybe she is what’s needed to save him in that sense

  • When The Moon Hides Her Crown   272. GONE

THIRD PERSON POINT OF VIWEAsher’s breath hitched. “Nine hundred years ago?”Just as the question left his lips, Silas’ entire body began to slightly fade, his form shimmering as though he were dissolving into the air. “It was the same day, nine hundred years ago, when everything ended...it is the same day tonight that it all starts over again.” His voice grew more distant as he spoke, the words thick with sorrow. “The past is repeating. The first Alpha King of the realm, Ryker Wraithe, has broken free from his curse with her turning twenty-one. She will remember everything about her past, her life...and the mistake she made...falling in love with anyone. With the Dread Lord.”As he spoke, Silas’ form grew weaker, his voice fading with each word. “My people and I were cursed, not only to live immortally after we lost her, but also to keep silent about what we knew,” he raised his hand, and the Moonstone he had plucked from the Moonstone Chamber materialized in his grip. “Now, that I’v

  • When The Moon Hides Her Crown   271. THE CRUSE

THIRD PERSON POINT OF VIEW“Silas, something is happening in the clearing of the Blackpine Forest!” Theo rushed into the ruins, panic clear in his voice. He had been watching the forest from a distance, but the moment he entered the ruins, he could no longer feel Silas’ presence anywhere. “He had been going crazy after meeting with Aran and studying the bloodline curtain like an obsessed beast. Now, where did he go?”Unbeknownst to Theo, Silas was already deep within the ruins of the once-proud Lupine Academy, now reduced to little more than debris. The bloodline curtain was tightly clutched in his fists, his grip nearly bruising the material as he strained to understand its secrets. No matter how hard he tried to peer through the bloodline, the dark energy curling around it was causing excruciating pain, injuring his inner powers. His body was failing him, his energy dangerously low, and yet he couldn’t stop. He had to find out.His steps were frantic, and he threw debris aside with

  • When The Moon Hides Her Crown   270. THE GATE

THIRD PERSON POINT OF VIEWGrace’s heart hammered in her chest as the shadows loomed closer. “They’re not living things…” she muttered in a panicked daze. “They’re…” Her voice faltered when she saw Jude opening the door and stepping out. “JUDE, WAIT, NO!” she screamed.“Stay in the car,” Jude firmly ordered, but there was no hesitation in his movements as he exited the vehicle.Grace’s panic exploded. “NO! I SAID THEY'RE NOT LIVING THINGS! DON’T GO. PLEASE!!” Her hands shook as she grabbed his arm, but Jude gently pried her fingers off.“Grace, it’s okay,” his voice softened, but there was an edge of finality. He guided her into the driver’s seat, leaning down to press a quick, reassuring kiss to her lips. “Drive into the territory. Don’t look back.”Her breath caught in her throat. Something was terribly wrong. Slowly, she turned her head to glance over her shoulder, and froze. Three more shadows had appeared behind the car, closing in with unnatural speed.Jude slammed the car door

  • When The Moon Hides Her Crown   269. THE FLASHES

SERAPHINA“Sera…I found Ryker Wraithe.”My heart stopped. “Where is he?”The link was abruptly cut off, followed by Lily’s final scream, a blood-curdling cry that ended as abruptly as it had started. The bond shattered.No...no, no, no.Lily...she was gone. She…died. Her last words echoed in my mind: “He is…always around you—”I froze dead on my spot. Around me? Always? The next thing I knew something black slithered around me. It coiled around my legs, slithering up to wrap cold and unrelenting around my chest, like an invisible chain pulling me towards the unknown. The air grew thick with pressure, and the suffocating mist closed in.That’s when a voice, low and slithering, whispered in my ear from the black thing around me, sending a shiver down my spine.“Seraphina…” Ryker whispered.I turned

  • When The Moon Hides Her Crown   268. NOT REAL

SERAPHINA I sat by the lake, waiting for Ronan, when a strange shift in the weather caught my attention.“The rain is falling in only part of the area,” Phina murmured, her gaze fixed toward the clearing.I frowned at the strangeness of the weather. Half the sky was pouring rain while the other half was bone‑dry. Quickly, I slipped back into my clothes, ready to investigate when footsteps thundered behind me. “Luna!”I turned as Mace jogged toward me, breathless and urgent.“The man I sent to capture Dante Blackwood’s father, he found something,” Mace said.I stepped closer, pulse quickening. “What did he find?”Mace’s expression was grim. “Your suspicion was correct. All the Alphas who married those women every twenty‑five years…they knew those she‑wolves would disappear after giving birth.”My brows snapped together. “Why?”Mace met my gaze, his voice dropping. “Because…they were not real women.”I stiffened. “What?”He handed me a thick, weathered record book detailing generatio

  • When The Moon Hides Her Crown   267. TRAPPED

THIRD-PERSON POINT OF VIEW“Trapped HOW?!” Alpha Gideon’s voice shattered the tense silence, his eyes blazing with fury. Now, everyone in the clearing could feel it, the danger thick in the air like a storm waiting to break.Aran wiped the blood from his lips, his voice steady despite the pain. “That’s a question for the one who let evil set a trap in the territory,” his eyes lifted, locking onto Alpha Hugo.Every gaze in the clearing shifted to Alpha Hugo, but it was Gideon’s fury that flared first. “Nonsense!” he snarled. “Hugo would never do that!”Aran rose, his movements slow and deliberate. He drew a blade from his side and, without hesitation, cut into the palm of Hugo’s hand. “When you come in contact with pure evil, your blood turns black,” he explained, the dark stain spreading across Hugo’s palm.Gideon froze, disbelief w
