Elara Moonstone

“I have found what you want, my king” George reported to Luca as we settled in his office.

“Is he behind it?” He asked George, and he nodded his head.

“Yes, my king. He is behind it; he was hoping to distract you so that he could take over the palace” George reported while I sat there wondering who the person they were referring to was.

“Bring him to me” Luca ordered before he turned his attention to me. “There's someone I would like you to meet” he said as he settled in his seat, just as the day opened again and George walked in.

The man behind him had an aura around I knew that he was a kin to Luca immediately he entered. Even though Luca was better looking than him, they had the same giant strides whenever they walked.

“Antonio” Luca muttered as I stood up, wanting to know what was going on.

“Brother, my king” he said, spreading his arms to hug him.

Luca didn't accept his hug; George stepped in between the two men, and I had a feeling their relationship wasn'

  • When The Moon Remembers   54: A Conversation From Hell

Elara Moonstone"And to what do I owe the visit of the Queen of the Lycan kingdom?" Felicia mocked me as soon as I got to where she was."I can see that the events of the past few days have taught you nothing about keeping your mouth shut and speaking when it is your turn only?" I fired back at her and watched her face tighten in anger. "What do you want?" She asked me, her eyes fixed on mine as she tried to look into me through them. I held her gaze, not flinching for even one moment as she finally averted her eyes. "How did you get my father's diary?" I demanded, taking my seat in the right chair, with only a see-through glass between us. "Well, that information cannot come without a cost, can it?" She smirked at me, her eyes filled with mischief. "You will tell me all I want to know, or I will have my husband rip out your heart from your chest" I threatened, and her smile faltered. She knew that Luca would do whatever I asked, and even that realization shocked me too. "Okay. I

  • When The Moon Remembers   53: A Long Distance to Love

Elara Moonstone Antonio was right there. I didn't tell Maera anything because I didn't even know what was going on. I punched Luca's number on my phone, but each time the call rang to the end without anyone picking it up. I was nervous; my hands were shaking, but then I didn't show it. "Get in, Your Highness," Antonio said as he threw the door open after making a dramatic turn to me. "What is going on? Luca is not picking up my calls?" I demanded as soon as I got in; I knew that he was not to be trusted, but even that was not a priority now. "He is at the hospital. Someone poisoned his drink. He called me before he went flat out, saying, I am taking you to a secure location for a minute." He said, and my ears rang. "Stop this car right now!" I yelled at him, and he came to a halt, nearly throwing me out through the window. I glared at him, my eyes filled with fury, but he didn't seem to mind. "What is it, Your Highness? I am only following his Majesty's orders." He said it in a

  • When The Moon Remembers   52: At His Majesty's Mercy

Elara Moonstone The king didn't look very pleased that I had asked for my father's diary. My thought had been to simply ask him and he would have it handed over to me, but that was not the case. He made up some silly excuses with the promise of having it sent to me as soon as he was done with Antonio. When I asked him where it was so that I could go and get it myself, he refused, claiming that he didn't want me stressed about anything at all.I went straight to Maera, masking how I truly felt and doing my best not to expose the information in my mind. My wolf, Isla, was restless; she was fighting to take over because she could smell the foul play. I kept calm and made my way to Maera to speak with her. Her house was nice and clean at the heart of the city; Luca had spared no cost in ensuring that she was as comfortable as she could be. We had not mentioned George or even spoken about her loss yet, but she seemed pleased and was recovering. "To what do I owe this visit, and why is y

  • When The Moon Remembers   51: A Dark Turn

King Luca"My king, we found a man at the edge of the borders. He was badly hurt and in need of medical care; we think he was attacked by wolf hunters" one of the guards informed me in my study. It was barely three days after my marriage to Elara; she had undergone a complete transformation. Becoming very receptive to me and never saying no. I loved her, I knew. She was the perfect complement for me, and I was grateful that she had relaxed now. I didn't like rogues or strangers being found around my kingdom. The last time that happened, it had turned out to be a spy. "Alright. Take me to him" I instructed the guard as I got up. I required an assistant as soon as I could get one. George was still in the cell, and I didn't know what punishment to give him yet. The rule now was for the guards not allow anything to happen to him; he was starved long enough and given food with water when he was near the gates of death. I made up my mind to stop by his cell after seeing this stranger. "H

  • When The Moon Remembers   50: A Lover's Lore

Elara MoonstoneMy wedding day! How on earth could it be my wedding day? He had not mentioned anything to me, but the last time we had spoken about it, he had told me that he would marry me this week. I couldn't say I didn't know or that I was mad because he had made my dream come true. Everyone bowed as we made our way to the front, the eldest councilman waiting for us with a crown for me while two blood-red rings dazzled beside him to match my dress. No one said a word or rose until we had gotten to the front. The words of the councilman droned out in my ears as Luca helped me get on my knees, the softness of the pillow cushioning my bones. The crowd took their seats; a pin-drop silence enveloped the room. “…the union between Moonfang and the Lycan Kingdom. An unbroken alliance that we all sit here today to witness. Today, you become not just the wife of the king; you become the queen of the Lycan kingdom. It is the honor bestowed upon me today to crown you, formerly Elara Moonst

  • When The Moon Remembers   49: Cold Room

Elara Moonstone Maera didn't stop crying, not even after six days that we had found out that George wasn't as loyal as we all thought. It was even worse how far he went to make me hate her, but then, she had just been betrayed by the one man that she thought would protect her. I knew exactly how she felt, and that devastated me the most. She wasn't someone I knew how to comfort as she comforted me, but I always knew that I could give it a try. The gentle breeze hit my face as I bathed in the glory of the morning air. Luca had slept in my arms last night; it was this weird arrangement between us that was never debated. He had simply slept in my arms that night and then continued to sleep in my arms every night. I had thought the first time was just a silly mistake, considering what we both had just gone through and how heartbroken he was about George's two-sided loyalty. “Is someone thinking about me and how hard my body is in her arms?” I heard Luca's voice and startled a bit. He g
