Chapter 3

"A person's reputation is extremely important," Serena's mother exclaimed. "Serena hasn't done anything wrong, so why is she being slandered by her own husband?"

"We're begging you, Leon. Why didn't you settle this issue in private after getting to the bottom of things? Why did you have to post about it online before you got the whole picture?"

It didn't take long before a crowd gathered on the sidewalk to find out what the commotion was about. They began to discuss among themselves.

"Look! Isn't that the Gallagher residence? Why are there people kneeling at the front door?"

"Don't you know? Mr. Gallagher suspects that his wife is cheating on him after seeing her Christmas gift orders. I heard that he even froze his black bank card because of this."

"I know! Apparently, his wife gave her colleague some condoms as a present?"

Someone laughed and said, "I can't believe that he got jealous over a present. Maybe the condom size is bigger than his own? Perhaps the sight of it filled him with shame, causing his embarrassment to transform into anger."

Some of them even pulled out their phones and started livestreaming what was going on in the villa.

Despite how he was still pinned to the ground, a wide grin spread across Scott's face when he heard the onlookers' words.

"Did they hit a sore spot?" he asked mockingly. "It's not your fault that you're small. But at the end of the day, you're still a man. Don't you feel ashamed that you're taking your anger out on Serena and slandering her over something like this?

"I want you to grovel at Serena's feet for her forgiveness! I won't let you off the hook if you don't!"

I couldn't help but scoff as I studied the expensive clothes that Scott was wearing. It was no wonder that my clothes kept vanishing from my closet. It turned out that he had been secretly stealing my clothes and treating them as his own.

"My shame has nothing to do with you," I retorted. "Also, you should return the items that you stole to their rightful owner before you get into an argument with them."

I looked at the bodyguards and said, "You. Strip him of every garment that's labelled with the Gallagher family's crest."

The bodyguards immediately leaped into action when I waved my hand, yanking Scott's coat back so they could get a good look.

It didn't take long before they stripped Scott of nearly everything that he was wearing, leaving him in only a pair of shorts in the Gallagher residence's garden.

Scott shivered violently when the cold winds of December blew past.

"What the hell are you doing, Leon? You can take your anger out on me! Why are you humiliating Scott?"

Serena shoved me aside and rushed to Scott's side when she noticed the state of near undress that he was in.

Chaos also erupted among the crowd who were watching the scene unfold. They assumed that I was humiliating Scott because he had offended me, surging forward to curse me and my lack of humanity.

Someone called the police in the midst of the chaos.

It didn't take long before several police cars with flashing lights stopped in front of the villa.

Serena stepped forward to accuse me of slandering her when the police arrived.

"You're finally here! Leon posted a video online to ruin my reputation because he suspects that I'm cheating on him. He even raised his hand against my family. Just look at my brother! He stripped him bare and abandoned him in the garden. You must seek justice for me!"

The crowd voiced their agreement, adding that they were willing to speak on Serena's behalf.

The police officer frowned when he noticed how unified they were. He pushed open the door and approached me, asking, "Is what they're saying true? You suspect your wife of cheating on you, but do you have proof to back up your claims?"

However, Scott shouted at the top of his lungs from behind the officer before I could get a single word in.

"He doesn't have any proof! He's imagining things!"

Seizing his opportunity, Felix jogged over to the officer, fixing an understanding expression on his face before saying, "This is all my fault, officer. I shouldn't have uploaded that post on my account. Mr. Gallagher only misunderstood because—"

The young and short-tempered officer shoved everyone away and snapped, "Stop spouting nonsense. I don't need you to teach me how to do my job."
