DAMIEN’S POV

“You all are failures, and you deserve to be executed!” I roared, and I would do it again.

Saying that I was disappointed in them was an understatement. I had bragged to Roman that they would bring Maya home to me, but here they were, damaged and bruised by warriors like them.

I allowed them into my compound because Roman asked me to. They would not pass for warriors again, so I should not see them as one anymore. The injuries they sustained were that bad.

  • When the moon binds us   CHAPTER EIGHTY FIVE

RASMUS’S POV My mouth kept moving, thanks to the popcorn I had in it. It was my mate’s idea that we have something to munch on while watching her favorite show. It was her favorite show and not mine. She had no idea, but I was fed up with watching it. I chewed loudly to get her attention but it didn’t work. She seemed carried away so she didn’t notice me. Can she stare at me and not the screen? There was something I had been wanting to discuss with her, and now might just be the time to go ahead with it. She can always watch her favorite show anytime but I won’t be privileged to speak to her anytime due to my tight schedule. I was supposed to be somewhere today, but I stayed back at home because she pleaded with me to. I couldn’t say no to her so I had to stay back. We both had an agreement that this would be the last time she’d make me stay back at home when I have somewhere to be. “Maya.” “Yes,” she replied, but it wasn’t instantly. Now that I had her attention, it was

  • When the moon binds us   CHAPTER EIGHTY FOUR

DAMIEN’S POV “Maya?” “Yes, Lycan, Maya,” the head of security responded. “The same Maya I know?” “Yes,” he said. I knew I wasn’t supposed to engage him in a conversation because of his condition, but I needed answers to the questions in my head. Unlike the rogues, he was brought to the sickbay after he showed up. When the rogues said all of my men had been killed by the white wolf and Rasmus’s men, I assumed he was included. The nurse was done with him, so she left the ward, leaving him, Kendra and me. “I attacked her like Miss Kendra asked and after a few seconds, she transformed right in front of my eyes,” he spoke without being asked to. “If you had attacked her properly, she would have died and not transformed,” Kendra responded to him. “I did attack her properly. I used my sword on her. It was in her while she transformed.” The rogues knew what they were saying about a white wolf showing up all of a sudden, the head of security had just confirmed that. He cl

  • When the moon binds us   CHAPTER EIGHTY THREE

DAMIEN’S POV “She howled and it shook trees. Her howl made even strong men fall. She has white fur and a weird aura. She looked like a beast, but a beautiful one.” I allowed the rogue to speak in peace. I watched him while he was at it even though his words sounded like gibberish to me. He came back injured with one other rogue and he started to say funny things. Kendra was here with me and I hoped she listened to all the rogue had to say. Occasionally, I looked at the gate. My soldiers would return any time from now with Maya and the other slaves. I kind of knew involving the rogues was a bad idea but Kendra wasn’t willing to seek my opinion. She was so invested in taking the lead that she forgot that it was my idea at first. This wasn’t me blaming her though. “Are you trying to tell me that she killed all your colleagues?” Kendra inquired. “Yes. She killed all the pack soldiers also, every one of them,” he responded. “You mean a weird wolf showed up from somewhere an

  • When the moon binds us   CHAPTER EIGHTY TWO

MAYA’S POV One of Rasmus’s drivers drove into the compound. Rasmus stood next to me while we held hands. We waited for the driver to park the car, and then we headed toward it. We were both in the living room when we heard the car honk, and we left immediately after we heard it. I opened the car door and set my eyes on Beta Kierra. I couldn’t help but give her a hug. “I’m so sorry this happened to you.” “Come on, it’s not your fault.” She patted my back. It was my idea that she be brought back to the mansion even though her injuries weren’t healed yet. Unlike me, it takes the healer about seven days to heal each patient brought to his clinic. I healed all of Rasmus’s injuries in less than five minutes the previous night, and I could do the same for Beta Kierra. All of her injuries were still fresh. It was like the healer had done nothing to them. “Let’s help her inside.” I released her and looked at Rasmus. Rasmus and I helped her out of the car. Guards ran toward us

  • When the moon binds us   CHAPTER EIGHTY ONE

MAYA’S POV “Dinner in bed? Really?” “Yes,” Rasmus replied. He handed over the tray to me and I gladly put it on my lap. A smile appeared on my face while our eyes locked. He could have allowed a domestic worker to bring it, but he decided to do it himself. That was thoughtful of him. Indeed, he’s my answered prayer. My only regret was having doubts about him and not agreeing to be his woman from the moment I realized we were mates. He sat on the bed close to my legs. “I don’t want you doing anything again tonight, you’ve done more than enough today,” he interrupted the silence. “You’ve said that a million times to me ever since we got back.” I asked the chef for something very light, so I wasn’t surprised she made pancakes and scrambled eggs. I picked up the fork on the tray and started to eat. I could feel Rasmus’s eyes piercing my skin, and I kind of liked it. Today has to be my best day yet. A huge part of me still couldn’t believe what happened to me on the train

  • When the moon binds us   CHAPTER EIGHTY

RASMUS’S POV Blood covered my knuckles as I landed another punch on my opponent's jaw. He stumbled backward, but I didn't give him a chance to recover. I charged at him and threw him to the ground. "Get up!" I growled. The anger inside me refused to settle. He struggled to get to his feet and attacked me again, but I blocked his punch and drove my fist into his stomach. He collapsed once more while I stood over him. "Is that all you've got?" I asked him. All he did was groan in pain. He couldn’t give me a response. Every one of them here would pay for killing so many of my men. Beta Kierra, the pack soldiers, and I had taken down the majority of them. Another opponent stepped forward. He cracked his knuckles as he approached me. Sweat dripped down my face due to exhaustion, but now was not the time for me to take a break. Getting exhausted couldn’t stop me from continuing what I started. "Lycan, you've had enough. We’ll continue from here," one of my men said to me. He

MAYA’S POV “Faster, Omega!” a warrior barked. He obviously wasn’t an Omega like me. His voice made me flinch, and my arms trembled. Good for me, the tray stacked with food in my hands didn’t find its way to the ground. The smell of roasted meat and herbs filled my nostrils as the plates ratt

  • When the moon binds us   CHAPTER NINE

MAYA’S POV Things were different here in the Moonlight Pack. Aside from the beautiful buildings, they seemed to be living in the future, unlike the Mountain Pack. The development was all thanks to the Lycan King. I knew that without being told. Alpha Damien was supposed to develop his pack al

  • When the moon binds us   CHAPTER EIGHT

MAYA’S POV Lycan Rasmus was the first to step into the penthouse, then a maiden, and then me. It was his idea that we be here in the penthouse, and I couldn’t say no. The maiden in question had been going everywhere with him, and here she was again. She could be his personal assistant o

  • When the moon binds us   CHAPTER TWO

MAYA’S POV “When you’re done here, you’re to scrub all the toilets in the mansion,” a guard snapped. I didn’t forget for a minute that I was supposed to be scrubbing the toilets and not here on the training ground, but it was what Alpha Damien wanted. “This is a waste of time,” I muttered af
