I looked at Eugene, where he stood at the bottom of the stairs as I descended them. “Yes, I believe so. I didn’t really pack for myself. My assistant did most of the packing so, you’ll have to ask her if she forgot to pack anything.”
Eugene snickered at my remark. “Well, if your assistant is the one who packed, I don’t believe she would have forgotten something.”
I stared daggers at Eugene. “Oh, so that’s how it’s going to be. You would believe my assistant’s words more than my own?”
