Chapter 9

Jenna's POV 

If only he wasn't busy plotting a revenge against me, he'd know I didn't give birth in any hospital. 

"The DNA won't match because we went through an IV—" 

"ENOUGH!" Chris shouted before I told the truth, as he charged towards me and grabbed my arm. "I knew something was wrong when you started ignoring me ten months ago, Jenna. We had a bad fight months ago about your secret affair. I accept I made a mistake when I hit you in anger. But I said sorry, didn't I? I forgave you too. And you promised me that you will never go back to your lover but this is how you got back at me— by cheating on me!" 

"You didn't want to be a mother, right? You were not ready. But then you got knocked up by your lover because you didn't want to carry my child. How could you, Jenna? I loved you." Fake tears flashed in his eyes. 

That moment of weakness on the part of their Alpha made the people in the room become aggressive. 

"My baby!" I shrieked as the Beta yanked my son out of my hands. 

"Do I kill this bastard, Alpha? It'll serve this bítch right for cheating on you." He hissed. 

"Chris, stop him. Stop him." 

"We should throw him to our dogs instead." The Gamma, Neville suggested. 

One by one they shared what the alpha should do with me whereas Chris quietly watched. I saw a look of guilt cross his features before it was wiped clean. 

"Stop it, everyone. Cleo, give her the baby back." He announced. 

I was in tears. I was strong until I heard their vicious thoughts. Right now my body was shaking as I begged with my eyes for Chris to give my son back to me. 

"There's no need to do anything. She cheated since she doesn't want me, right? Fine. I'll free her. She's free to be with her lover and take this child from here alive as long as she promises not to come back."

"But, Alpha—" 

"I'm not done talking yet." Chris used his Alpha tone. "She's a bítch, but she's still my mate. It'll hurt me to see you go but this is for the best. Besides, my true love is here. Maybe this is life. The Moon goddess knew what my mate was planning for me and she sent my first love back to me."

"So," Sucking in a deep breath, Chris came towards me. 

"M-my son!" I shivered as he took my son from his beta. 

Bringing him to me, he looked into my eyes and did what I had expected from him, "I, Chris Bellinton, the Alpha of Power Wolf Pack, reject you, Jenna, as my mate and Luna."

The pain was like a bomb exploding in my chest before it felt like something snapped. I fell on the floor holding my chest. My body was already drained from the labor and this was like the final nail to the coffin. Chris was kneeling in front of me. But unlike me, he didn't look much affected. 

Then I saw the reason why— a fresh new mating mark was glowing dark red on his neck. He had chosen to mark and get marked by Sasha. Since his life and fate was now connected with hers, the pain of our breaking bond didn't affect him. 

My eyes were streaming and my mind was dizzy. When I had left Jace's hotel to come here, I had so many things in mind. I could do none when I came here. I don't know why. Maybe it was the shock of the pretense of an eternal happy life coming to end; or perhaps the realization of not truly being loved by the man who was supposed to cacoon our heart in his hands and keep it safe. 

'Why?' I asked over the mind link while the threads of our mate bond slowly ruptured. 'You could've said it if you wanted to be with her. Why do this and tarnish my character?' 

'You forced me, Jenna.' There was not even an iota of guilt in his eyes. 'Maybe if you hadn't made me feel like I was incapable of giving you a child and forced us to undergo IVF with a donor, I wouldn't have done this.'

'You did all of this just because I wanted a child you couldn't give me?' 

He grabbed my hair as he slowly transferred the weight of my son in my arms, 'I did this because you couldn't wait. Yeah, my sperm count was low but it wasn't irreversible.'

'You can't reserve what is totally dead.' I laughed, mocking him. 

It stoked his ego and he slapped me, "Bítch! I hate you so much that I can kill you right now. But as I said, I'll leave you for the sake of this weak omega's bastard."

"Cleo!" He whirled while yelling. "Throw her out of my pack."

I didn't protest when they dragged me out. I was rather grinning because Chris doesn't know what I know. He thinks he broke me by leaving me with a newborn baby. He thinks I'll struggle to raise my son as I don't have any money on me now. He thinks I'm as good as a scrounger. 

What he doesn't know is that he's just insulted his future Luna Queen. And the child he called a bastard... The very child is why he's going to suffer in the coming future. 

'You'll marry Alpha King Jace? But Jenna, he's a playboy. No one has seen him but everyone has seen the colorful side of his life. He never repeats a girl and he's got a mistress too.' My wolf said in a hoarse voice. 

I just smiled sadistically as Beta Cleo grabbed me like a whóre by the hair. 

"Get inside the car, slút." He didn't care that I was carrying a newborn when he thrusted me towards the car. 

'Jenna,' Jace's voice made my nerves spasm. 

'No.' I snapped before he said anything. 'Don't do anything, please. Chris asked them to throw me out of the pack. Just follow quietly. Only if you see them doing anything else, you're free to have your way. Just don't jump in right now.'

I heard him curse before he broke the link. My heart was thumping brutally. I saw the trees pass by as the sky grew darker above. A storm was brewing outside, and a storm was brewing inside as well. 

"Cleo," Gamma Neville was eyeing me lecherously from the front seat. "I've heard doing it with a lactating woman is pure heaven."

My blood thickened in fright. I pulled my baby to my chest to hide my bréasts. Jace is following us. I know he won't let anything happen to his son and his mother, yet I felt completely insecure and unsafe. 

"Neville, shut up! Alpha Chris will kill us." Cleo gave him a look of warning as he gripped the steering wheel tight. "She can be a whóre, but there's no need to stoop down to her level."

Later he added in a gloomy tone, "And let's not forget she used to be our Luna. She cheated her Alpha but she did some wonderful things for our pack. So for that, let's keep it professional."

"You're right. But there's something else we can do to avenge Alpha." Gamma Neville placed a hand on the seat as he turned to smirk at me. "Leave her unconscious at the borders."

Before I reacted, he grabbed my neck and squeezed it tight. Adrenaline ran in my bloodstream as my vision got dizzy. 

"How dare she cheat on our Alpha?" He squeezed my neck more. 

"Neville, leave her. Alpha told us to leave her alive. She has a newborn. Think about it." Cleo said with unease as he focused on the road but I sensed the car swivel left and right. 

"Who said I'm killing her. The rogues will do that. I'm just making sure she doesn't have the strength to fight them."

I let out a strangled cry as he pressed at a point on my neck that sent my senses down the ebony of darkness.

I don't remember what happened next, but one thing I know is if I live, I’d return and finish what they started.
