LOGINChapter 8
Jenna's POV
My eyes were moist as my hand caressed the shaved head of my baby. He's such an angel, but I hate the fact that he looks just like his Alpha King Father. There's not a single feature different— he has the same nose, same lips, same skin color. Let's not talk about the hair I got shaved off.
Jealousy skittered up my spine as I bit back a grunt.
'You know, this is why I never told you about how our son looks whenever you asked. I didn't know what to say and I was worried. This baby's controversial hair color always made me wonder how we are going to answer everyone's questions regarding the same. We've told everyone it's a natural pregnancy and his hair looked nothing like yours or Chris'. But the Moon goddess knew best. Now we don't have to answer anything to anyone, and the father is also here.' My wolf said as I rolled my eyes.
Jace Kingston is not as clever as he looks I guess.
'Why would you think that?'
'He proposed marriage without using the right words. I would have liked it if he said 'Marry me' instead of all that shit he said.'
'You're not going to marry him, are you? We know he's a certified playboy. He's got a reputation.' I looked out of the window as I clutched my baby tightly against my breasts.
We were heading for what used to be my house in a cab to confront Chris. Jace was excited and insisted I let him tag along. He wanted to watch me kick his àss. But where's the fun in that? He's the Alpha King, he shouldn't arrive anywhere unannounced.
Cherry on top, he's the father to my baby. My baby whom Chris thought would be weak. But my son is neither weak nor an omega's. I can only imagine their expressions when they'll watch my son when he grows his full hair again and in his biological father's arms.
My eyes hardened as the top of Chris' house came to my view. There was a special security check a few yards before the gates of the house. The guards stationed there gave me an abhorrent look like I stole something from them. Anyway they opened the gates for me as my cab approached them.
'From their looks, it's obvious Chris has played his move to kick you out.'
I just smiled. When the car stopped, I covered my son in the baby blanket and stepped out. My heart skipped a beat as I took in the building that once was my home sweet home. The clouds drifting above were dark and the walls were ominously dull today. There was something about today that made me feel like this was probably my last day here.
Taking in a bracing breath, I stepped forward to enter the gate. I flinched when the guard shut the door with a contemptuous glare.
"Why are you here?"
"This is my home, Caxton. Why else would I be here! Open the gates."
He snorted before his eyes went down to the bundle in my hands. A look passed in his eyes as if he wanted to kill my baby. With my throat dry, I covered his face farther and hugged him to my chest.
I think Jace was right. I shouldn't have come here alone.
'Don't worry, Jenna. I'm here for you.' I heard a voice and I swept a glance around. I couldn't see where Jace was but he was here with me.
'Why did you come? I told you not to, right!'
'I had to come, woman. You're my child's mother. You just recently gave birth to him and you're weak. You can't expect me to do nothing. I have to protect you.' Something akin to warmth spread in my chest.
He could've said he was here for his son's safety. No. He was here for me, and that fact made me smile.
"Open the door." The guard snorted again as he scratched behind his ear carelessly.
'I have ammunition. If you say, I can blast this gate for you.' My heart jumped at Jace's suggestions.
'Can you please stay out of this, Alpha King? This is my personal matter. Let me handle it my way.'
He muttered after a while, 'Not very personal after you gave birth to my son.'
My breath hitched but I didn't get to think much about it given the guard opened the door. He mumbled something under his breath as I walked in. My nerves started kicking in as I climbed the stairs leading to the patio. Joyful laughter was coming from inside.
I walked into the house and what I saw made me grab the frame of the door for balance— My mate was giving his mistress a queen treatment. He was sitting at her feet on his knees, feeding her grapes while Henry, that snake doctor, was massaging her wrist. Chris' Beta, Gamma and some elders of the pack were watching their Alpha with awe as though he was doing something commendable.
"Wow! Look at that." I walked into the hall as they all shifted in shock. "Isn't that very adorable— Our Alpha showering his mistress with unconditional love. My eyes are overflowing with tears."
Menacing silence engulfed the hall in its grasp. Everyone stood as their eyes observed me, especially the bundle in my arms. But my eyes were affixed on Chris, my despicable mate.
"I don't know what I want to do more desperately, Chris— whether I should kick your àss or burst your balls."
"Jenna, mind your tongue." He growled as his wolf overpowered him. "After everything you did, you don't get to act like you're innocent."
"And what did I exactly do, bastard?" I smiled madly. "You said you were going to deal with the rogues and next morning I see this whóre in our house. Forget her, where were you when I sent a messenger to you? I gave birth alone, Chris. I tried to mind link you when I was in labor. None of you came. Not a single person."
That's true. When I was in labor, I secretly tried to talk to my husband. I thought he would respond for the sake of the time we spent together. He may not love me unconditionally, but I thought he at least loved me some bit to come.
What really happened, you know? He blocked me out.
"Why would I come when you left with your lover?" He said with a sarcastic laugh as my jaw dropped.
"Lover?"
"Luna," Henry adjusted his specs as he came forward. "I was there when you left with the cab driver who is your lover. I saw you both." He paused to give me a twisted grin. "I saw how he held your hand when the cab turned and left. I followed the car and watched when you pulled over in a dark place to make out."
I just laughed at that. A dry and humorless laugh. Why am I not surprised? Well, because I knew they were going to do this.
"You believe him, Chris?" I turned to him.
"I do." That didn't wring my heart at all. "I assigned you your own driver. Why would you call a cab when you had your own car and driver, ha?"
"Alpha, can I say something else?" Henry asked like the wuss he is. He went on as Chris nodded, "There's something I would like to bring to your notice, Alpha. That baby..."
My arms automatically pulled my son closer to my chest. All of them noticed it.
"Isn't yours." He announced and all the people in the room shifted in shock.
"What are you saying, doctor Henry?" The Beta asked. Given how his eyes widened, I could bet they have practised this before.
"That baby isn't Alpha's. I called the hospital where he was born to get a DNA test done and found out the baby's DNA doesn't match with our Alpha's." I bit back a colorful response as I regarded him in amusement.

Chapter 58 Jace's POV We were silent for a long time. Neither of us spoke. Suddenly Jenna lifted her face and eyes me innocently."What?" I chuckled. She nodded in no, "You burned Liza alive."My face stilled. I pulled her closer and joined our foreheads, "I had to. She was the bane of our family."I kissed her."Also," I added. "She made me doubt my wife's intentions. I had to punish her."At that, she hugged me tighter and rested her face on my shoulder. She was sitting straddling my waist while I held her like my toddler baby.My back had healed. Hence, I was able to sit this way.The doctors had been worried because the wound wasn't healing in my state of unconsciousness. That's the reason why they refused to give any answer. But the second I woke up, the wound healed, and all the residue of wolfsbane and silver was eliminated by my immune system."What happened to Chris and that lady?" I suddenly asked as I remembered those two."Both dead. And that lady was Doctor Henry's daug
Chapter 57Jenna's POV 'Thanks, bro. Head towards the Rogues' territory with your team. I'll meet you there.''Roger that!''Okay.'We broke the link. I sucked a sharp breath as I focused on the road ahead. If I drive at high speed, I'll get there in twenty minutes.Jenna, hold on for a while, love. Your husband is coming to get you.(Twenty minutes later)"Jace, finally you're here." Oakley came running towards my car as I applied brakes."Did you find her location?" I was not even fully out of the car."Yes, and already stationed our soldiers around the area." Oakley said, sending a wave of relief through me."Thank, goddess.""Don't worry, Jace. The situation is already in our control." Oakley flashed a shark grin and my eyebrows cocked in confusion. "Chris's soldiers look novice. They are not attentive at all, let alone alert.""I think he brought untrained wolves here. And I must add that his Beta and Gamma are not here either."I acknowledged with a nod, "He's probably doing it
Chapter 56Jenna's POV Jace has never touched her before. He hadn't done it this time either. It's that bìtch who always found ways to go near him.'There's no point in giving yourself false hope, Jenna. Jace isn't the man we thought he was. Accept it.' Gianna said.A feeling of disappointment rose over me. No! My wolf is not right here. She's hurt from Jace's wolf's words, and rest is the impact of wolfsbane.Jace loves us.'You really think that? Then tell me, why didn't he come after us when we left?'he He might have a reason.'No,' Gianna grunted weakly. 'It's because he was bewitched by his mistress's beauty and he chose her instead.'That's not true. I was breathless in anger. Gianna's words struck a chord that it shouldn't have.'I'll prove it to you that Jace still only loves us.'Having that said, I lowered my guard. I had blocked out everyone and their feelings to avoid getting caught. However, as I lowered my guard, I could feel my family's emotions— Jace's first. He was
Chapter 55Jenna's POVI regained my senses at the feeling of stabbing spasms stretching throughout my body. My eyelids were heavy and so I couldn't drag them open. But my other senses were working well.I could hear and smell and feel my surroundings. The air was crackling with the chirping of thousands of crickets, meaning that I was most likely in a forest area; or where there were a lot of trees.I dragged in a deep breath to catch scents, and realized that wood was burning somewhere. Then I heard the noise of fire crackling. A bonfire. I subtly rubbed my hand on the ground and sensed the coarse texture. Soil. All the elements directed to one point, I was in a forest. My eyes felt better now. I was about to open them when, "Hadn't she woken up yet?" A familiar voice asked."No, Alpha Chris. After she turned into her human form while fainting, she's been just like that." Someone said,It wasn't Cleo's voice. Hmm. Perhaps Chris flew all the way to Silent Hills city with a small team
Chapter 54Jace's POV "Let this be a lesson to all those who think they can fool the Alpha King just because I trust them." I announced as I paced around with a flaming torch in my hand. Behind me a pyre was built in the middle of the city for people to watch. On it Liza was tied to a pole. She was drenched with petrol and shaking. Her eyes were red. She begged me to let her go, that she was honestly apologetic. That she acknowledged her blunder and would go away. "My trust has never been a weakness. My willingness to believe in those who stand beside me does not make me blind, nor does my kindness make me a fool. I give people my trust because I choose to see the good in them. Because I consider them my previous ones. But the moment that trust is betrayed, do not mistake my silence for ignorance. And don't ever think that you can outsmart me."I came to a halt. The flames were crackling beside my face. It was night now, the sky was dark with no stars. There were light poles around
