Chapter 56

Jenna's POV

Jace has never touched her before. He hadn't done it this time either. It's that bìtch who always found ways to go near him.

'There's no point in giving yourself false hope, Jenna. Jace isn't the man we thought he was. Accept it.' Gianna said.

A feeling of disappointment rose over me. No! My wolf is not right here. She's hurt from Jace's wolf's words, and rest is the impact of wolfsbane.

Jace loves us.

'You really think that? Then tell me, why didn't he come after us when we left?'he

He might have a reason.

'No,' Gianna grunted weakly. 'It's because he was bewitched by his mistress's beauty and he chose her instead.'

That's not true. I was breathless in anger. Gianna's words struck a chord that it shouldn't have.

'I'll prove it to you that Jace still only loves us.'

Having that said, I lowered my guard. I had blocked out everyone and their feelings to avoid getting caught. However, as I lowered my guard, I could feel my family's emotions— Jace's first.

He was drowning in pain. His pain was so intense that it affected my breathing.

Next I felt my son's emotions. Jared was in intense pain too. He's missing me.

My lovely baby. I bit my lip to stop myself from shedding a tear. My baby was crying for me.

'Felt that? Jace is in deep pain because we left. And our son—'

'Our pup is very vulnerable.' My wolf gasped. 'Jenna, we need to go back to our family. Jenna, we need to go back home.'

Her words whipped determination into my blood, renewing my hopes and energy. I got up from the ground, sat straight, and attempted to analyze my surroundings.

Brienne and Chris were standing by the bonfire, deeply immersed in plotting a plan on how to torture me. The soldiers, on the other hand, were hardly any alert. Some were lost in their thoughts and some were looking around like they disliked being here.

One certain soldier had my full attention— He was muttering something under his breath while trying to kill some mosquitoes with his hands.

He muttered something that made my breathing sharp. Our current location's name.

"There are more mosquitoes here than rogues in the rogues’ territory!!" He'd muttered.

My eyes widened instinctively. So I'm in the rogues' territory.

"Why are you smiling, Jenna?" Chris's voice startled me.

I quickly looked away, "It's nothing."

Chris wasn't convinced. He stared at me like he could see right through my soul. Something flickered in his eyes before he grabbed a soldier nearby and hollered in his face.

"Have you given her the mind-link suppressant dosage yet?"

"N-no, Alpha. I'll do it now."

"Idiot, haven't I told you to give her mind-link suppressant when she wakes up?"

"S-sorry, Alpha. I forgot."

"You forgot! You dumb jerk, if she sends a message through the mind link to the Alpha king, we're all dead."

I blinked in realization. Oh yeah, I could lower my guard and feel Jace's feelings. That wouldn't have been possible if my senses were suppressed with drugs.

That means... I still have a chance to save myself. I just have to mind-link Jace.

However, it wasn't that easy. The minute Chris realized the loophole, he tossed the soldier away and galloped towards me like a horse with a syringe.

My wolf squeaked like a terrified squirrel when he kneeled down before us. Fear shot up my spine as he clutched me by my hair and brought his other hand with the syringe near my neck. I gulped hard and closed my eyes to focus and use the mind-link.

'J-jace! Jace!!! Can you hear me? I am in the Rogues' territory. Kidnaped. Chris. Henry's daughter and—' Blinding hot pain spread through my neck as I felt the needle pierce my skin.

I could feel the liquid going around in my body through my veins. I could feel my mind-link ability weakening.

"Aah. Y-you... Ăss... Hō... Le..." I fell on the ground while clutching my neck.

My body became extremely light. Dizziness crept over me. Soon I closed my eyes as I felt a hand pat my head.

"That's good. Go to sleep, Jenna. Hopefully when you wake up again, all the wolfsbane will have filtered out of your body." Chris caressed my head.

I tried to keep my eyes open. In the end, I gave up and let sleep consume.

I hope Jace heard me.

Jace's POV

I was in mom and dad's room, holding Jared against my shoulder. He had been asleep some while ago, but he woke up with a scratchy cry. He was back to sobbing for his mother as he went like, "Mamma, mamm-mam-mamma."

"I can try if you like, Jace." Dad touched my shoulder as he softly offered.

"Yes, please." As I moved Jared away from my shoulder, he let out a whiny shriek.

"Little ones can smell their parents' scents. He won't leave you unless Jenna comes, Jace." Dad sympathetically observed my son.

I bit the insides of my cheek. I honestly didn't know what to do. My son wasn't leaving me alone, and there my wife was out there somewhere, all alone and heartbroken!

I was rocking Jared back and forth when suddenly a panicky voice erupted in my mind over the link.

'J-jace! Jace!!! Can you hear me? I am in the Rogues' territory. Kidnaped. Chris. Henry's daughter and—'

My hold on Jared almost loosened.

"Jace, what the hell are you doing?! You could've dropped him." Dad growled at me.

"D-dad, Jenna... Jenna just mind-linked me." I stammered, my chest brimming with so many emotions.

I was happy, relieved that she was alive and glad. But I was also frightened, cautioned and pushed on the edge because of the words that she spoke.

"Really?" Dad's lips curled in a wide smile. "What did she say? Where is she?"

"She's in danger." A sound of glass shattering reverberated through the atmosphere.

"J-jenna is in danger." Mom held the door frame as her breathing stopped.

"I'll have to go to her, guys. Her ex-husband got to her when she left. She's in his custody. I'll have to save her."

I handed Jared to dad despite his increasing cries. I promised to come home with his mom before I dashed out of the room.

I paid a visit to our ammunition room and got some guns. I wore a holster and put them in there. Then I pulled the senior doctor with me before I hopped in the car.

As I started the engine, I decided to inform my Beta and, 'Oakley, I know where Jenna is.'

'You do? Did she come back?' His voice was laced with restlessness.

'She mind-linked me five minutes ago. She's with Chris in the Rogues' territory.'

'Hell, is she safe?'

His query made my breathing falter, 'I... I don't know.'

'Damn. Well, don't worry, Jace. We'll get to her soon and save her. I promise you that.'

Chapter 58 Jace's POV We were silent for a long time. Neither of us spoke. Suddenly Jenna lifted her face and eyes me innocently."What?" I chuckled. She nodded in no, "You burned Liza alive."My face stilled. I pulled her closer and joined our foreheads, "I had to. She was the bane of our family."I kissed her."Also," I added. "She made me doubt my wife's intentions. I had to punish her."At that, she hugged me tighter and rested her face on my shoulder. She was sitting straddling my waist while I held her like my toddler baby.My back had healed. Hence, I was able to sit this way.The doctors had been worried because the wound wasn't healing in my state of unconsciousness. That's the reason why they refused to give any answer. But the second I woke up, the wound healed, and all the residue of wolfsbane and silver was eliminated by my immune system."What happened to Chris and that lady?" I suddenly asked as I remembered those two."Both dead. And that lady was Doctor Henry's daug

I was not even fully out of the car."Yes, and already stationed our soldiers around the area." Oakley said, sending a wave of relief through me."Thank, goddess.""Don't worry, Jace. The situation is already in our control." Oakley flashed a shark grin and my eyebrows cocked in confusion. "Chris's soldiers look novice. They are not attentive at all, let alone alert.""I think he brought untrained wolves here. And I must add that his Beta and Gamma are not here either."I acknowledged with a nod, "He's probably doing it

Chapter 55Jenna's POVI regained my senses at the feeling of stabbing spasms stretching throughout my body. My eyelids were heavy and so I couldn't drag them open. But my other senses were working well.I could hear and smell and feel my surroundings. The air was crackling with the chirping of thousands of crickets, meaning that I was most likely in a forest area; or where there were a lot of trees.I dragged in a deep breath to catch scents, and realized that wood was burning somewhere. Then I heard the noise of fire crackling. A bonfire. I subtly rubbed my hand on the ground and sensed the coarse texture. Soil. All the elements directed to one point, I was in a forest. My eyes felt better now. I was about to open them when, "Hadn't she woken up yet?" A familiar voice asked."No, Alpha Chris. After she turned into her human form while fainting, she's been just like that." Someone said,It wasn't Cleo's voice. Hmm. Perhaps Chris flew all the way to Silent Hills city with a small team

Chapter 54Jace's POV "Let this be a lesson to all those who think they can fool the Alpha King just because I trust them." I announced as I paced around with a flaming torch in my hand. Behind me a pyre was built in the middle of the city for people to watch. On it Liza was tied to a pole. She was drenched with petrol and shaking. Her eyes were red. She begged me to let her go, that she was honestly apologetic. That she acknowledged her blunder and would go away. "My trust has never been a weakness. My willingness to believe in those who stand beside me does not make me blind, nor does my kindness make me a fool. I give people my trust because I choose to see the good in them. Because I consider them my previous ones. But the moment that trust is betrayed, do not mistake my silence for ignorance. And don't ever think that you can outsmart me."I came to a halt. The flames were crackling beside my face. It was night now, the sky was dark with no stars. There were light poles around
