LOGINThe journey to Quinton Hotel MC was quite a long one from Metro City Hospital; but Oliver was excited about staying there, at least for the night.
After everything he went through over the last few hours, a good night’s sleep was what he needed; and he had Derek Quinton to thank, even though he did not know that Derek was a Quinton and not a Smith. When the taxi was nearing the entrance of the hotel, Oliver took a moment to soak in the sights of the exterior of the hotel. Never before had Oliver been able to witness a six-star hotel in person. This night was the first for him. After using his card to pay for the fare, Oliver made his way to the front door, eager to enter the hotel. However, before he could come close to the front door, the bell boy stopped him in his tracks. “Excuse me, can I help you?” asked the bell boy, suspicious of Oliver’s attire.“Yes, where is the reception? I’m checking in for the night. At least just for tonight.” replied Oliver, aware that the bell boy was having suspicions about him.
“Do you have any proof of documentation that you are staying in this hotel?” asked the bell boy. In his mind, he knew he could expose Oliver for being a fraud.‘Damn, he’s quite smart. I only received a call from Derek about the reservation.’ Thought Oliver.
“I have received a call from the owner of the hotel, saying he had reserved a room for me. I believe your GM, Carson Stevens is expecting me. My name is Oliver Reed.” Replied Oliver calmly. “Is that so? One moment, allow me to confirm with Mr. Stevens.” Said the bell boy. He then spoke into his lapel mic and contacted Carson for clarification. A minute later, the same bell boy turned his attention back to Oliver. “Mr. Stevens is on his way down to meet you. Please stand to the side while you wait for him.” Requested the bell boy.“I understand. I’ll step to the side.” Said Oliver as he did what the bell boy told him to. He did not want to cause any unnecessary trouble.
As he stood at the side of the front entrance, countless people went in and out of the hotel, giving Oliver weird and disgusted stares as they passed him.In their minds, they were appalled that someone dressed like Oliver, looking like a bum, would be allowed to be standing anywhere remotely near a prestigious hotel like Quinton Hotel MC.
Oliver’s patience was growing thin as the minutes passed. There was increasing suspicion that the bell boy was not being honest with him. Finally, Oliver had waited enough. He then took his phone out and looked at his contact list. Sure enough, as Derek mentioned, Carson Steven’s number was in the list.
‘Let’s see what happens when I give your boss a call. You are so dead.’ Thought Oliver as he stared daggers at the bell boy while contacting Carson. A couple of rings later, Carson was on the line. “Hi there, are you Mr. Carson Stevens?” Oliver greeted over the phone. “You must be Oliver Reed. Yes, I have been expecting you. Are you at the entrance already?” asked Carson. "Well, I'm at the entrance of the hotel, waiting for you to meet me here, per the information your bell boy gave to me." replied Oliver, getting impatient by the moment. "That's odd. No one contacted me over the last few minutes. Please wait for me. I'll be at the entrance in three minutes. Oh, and please tell the bell boy to stay put." replied Carson before hanging up."Excuse me." Oliver said to the bell boy. "Didn't you say Mr. Stevens is on the way down? What is taking him so long?"
"What? Are you talking to me? I don't recall saying Mr. Stevens will meet you. Why would he meet such a poorly dressed loser like you?" replied the bell boy, showing his true colours to Oliver.
"Do yourself a favour. Just get lost. The sight of you is enough to make me sick. You are really stinking up the hotel with your presence." the bell boy continued taunting Oliver, not realising Carson was on his way down.
"Is this the level of standards being practiced by the Quinton group? I'm really disappointed. I should feedback this to Carson when he comes down." said Oliver, shaking his head in disappointment.
"How dare you call Mr. Stevens by name? Who the hell do you think you are, loser?!?" the bell boy lashed back, offended by Oliver's nonchalance.
"Security!! Get this piece of trash loser out of the hotel!" said the bell boy looking at the security guards to his left.
"What's going on here?!?" Carson's voice boomed as he opened the front doors to look for Oliver.
"Ah, Mr. Stevens. Just in time. This piece of trash here has the nerve to come here and request to look for you. He even dared to call you by name." the bell boy reported to Carson, implying that Oliver was a broke loser.
"About time you showed up, Carson." said Oliver. "I called you five minutes ago, saying this bell boy called you to let you know I'm here."
Hearing that, Carson realized the piece of trash that the bell boy was referring to was actually Oliver. Then, everything was made clear to Carson. His bell boy has offended Oliver, a VIP that Derek Quinton ordered to take utmost care of.
By that point, Carson was seething. He then confronted the bell boy and gave him two hard slaps across his face. The bell boy fell to the ground upon getting slapped by Carson; shock, confusion and pain clearly etched on his face.
"Mr. Stevens, why did you slap me? This piece of shit is clearly a nobody. I'm clearly defending you. Why are you taking his side?" the bell boy asked in confusion.
'Let's see what you are made of, Carson. What are you going to do about this?' thought Oliver.
Ding! Christina's phone sounded out, much to her surprise. "Sorry, everyone. Let me take this while you all focus on the task at hand." said Christina. She then walked over to a corner to check her phone, with Carson and Sharon following her."What do you have for us, Christina?" asked Sharon. "It's from Kellan and Sylva. They are basically saying that they are watching from a distance and they saw us entering the villa." replied Christina.Carson got worried hearing her reply. "Do you think they saw your face before we entered?" he asked nervously."No need to fret, Carson. They only saw the back of us. This means that their safehouse provided by my family is facing the front door of the villa." replied Christina.Sharon nodded, "That being said, we need to be extra careful when heading out later on. I would figure that your family may start to suspect you, especially now when you are supposedly at Quinton Hotel paying for a dinner." Christina understood what Sharon meant. At the s
"What's going on, Holly?" asked Henry as he joined his twin sister at the front door. He too was rooted to the spot seeing Christina together with Carson and Sharon on the other side greeting them. "Well... this is an awkward surprise." said Henry. "Tanya! A minute of your time please! We have visitors!" he reported out loud so Tanya could hear him. Tanya rushed over to the front door hearing Henry's voice, only to slow down to a screeching halt seeing who was at the door. "Woah, what's going on? Why are you three here??? You know what? Never mind that. Please, come in quickly. We don't want anyone to spy on us." Tanya and the twins quickly escorted Christina, Carson and Sharon in. The twins quickly scoured the surroundings before closing the front door. "I'm sorry to intrude at this hour; but this cannot wait." said Christina as she made her way to join everyone at the living room. Once there, she was amazed at what she saw. As she took a moment to soak in everything sh
"Wait a moment, dear." Thomas interrupted his wife."Before you do that, Christina and Lacy, ensure the first thing you do is ensure you release the news that the trash loser Oliver is dead; and emphasize that the scourge of Metro City is finally wiped off existence." Thomas instructed.Lacy was more than happy to handle the task assigned by her grandfather. She nodded excitedly and replied, "I have the press release ready, grandpa. Christina can vet it once before release.""Will do, Lacy. This will send a message to the whole of Metro City that we still control the whole city; and that no one messes with us." added Christina. 'Surely, Sharon will know what to do next.'"Good. I expect the release by noon tomorrow." said Thomas."Pardon the interruption, grandpa." Darren interjected. "It seems that Kurt is having difficulty getting rid of this helicopter."Everyone turned their attention towards the screen in the living room. Sure enough, it seemed like Eric's helicopter is outmanuve
"No one inside? What do you mean?" asked Charles alarmingly.Ivy replied as she took over the controls of Eric's helicopter, "Your eyes do not deceive you, boss. There is no on inside the helicopter."Everyone watching had confused looks on their faces. Team Reed was increasingly worried."This is bad. We need to contact the rest of the Kartel. They are surely not aware about this current situation." said Mitchell."Do that, Mitchell. Ivy, do what you can to salvage the helicopter. You and the twins will need it to escape from here." instructed Tanya."Do as she says, Ivy." said Charles. "Roger that, boss." replied Ivy. Taking full control, Ivy did everything she could to ensure the helicopter evaded the anti-air missile. "Damn, I can't seem to shake off that annoying missile." said an annoyed Ivy. As soon as she said that however, Barry suddenly had an audacious idea."Hold on. Ms. Ivy, don't shake it off!" exclaimed Barry. "Are you out of your mind, Barry?!?" replied a shocked Ivy,
"Hector!"Everyone was surprised to see Hector join the crowd, assisted by Mason, who helped him to his seat."How are you feeling, old friend?" asked Peter. "I'll live, Mr. Quinton. I can't be taken down that easily." replied Hector, holding his ribs due to the after effects of the attack on him.Derek asked, "Hector, do you remember what happened before and when you were attacked?" Hector shook his head, "No, Young Master. I had no idea what happened and how I was attacked.""Walk us through as best you can, Hector. Every detail is crucial." Charles requested earnestly.Hector took a few moments to fully regain his bearings before answering everyone, "After dropping off Young Master and his family at the Townsville Exhibition Centre, I headed to BDT mall for my dinner.""It just so happened after which that I was craving some coffee. So, I headed to the Starbucks cafe opposite BDT mall, where Steph used to work, for a cup.""I do remember I was on my way to pick up Young Master and
With the heaviest of hearts, Madam Louise began her story."Thomas Connors. Metro City. These words will always be the bane of my existence. I never would have thought that that old scum would not only still be alive; but he would try to harm my family now.""Thomas and I were high school sweethearts back in the day. We were in a relationship for a number of years. It was a serious relationship, serious enough that we were supposed to be engaged and married.""But towards the end of our relationship, he started to be increasingly distant from me. Then, one day, he told me that he had to go on a business trip. It turns out that it was to Metro City.""I wanted to go with him, considering I had nothing to do; but he insisted not to bring me along."Peter interrupted, "Let me guess, he left and never returned." to which Madam Louise nodded. "I received a letter, handwritten by him. Long story short, he cheated on me with another woman, whom he said he was going to marry instead of me. He
