View MoreIn the Smith household in Townsville, Madam Louise Smith was in her study, looking through some family albums and reminiscing her past. Looking at the recent photos she took with her family members, she felt a sense of gratitude and joy.
*Knock knock* "Hi, grandma!" A voice sounded from the door of her study. Madam Louise turned towards the door and smiled at the people standing there. "Charles. Derek. It's so nice to see you both. Please, come in." greeted Madam Louise as she stood up and walked towards the door, embracing both her grandsons when she was there. "What brings you both here at this time of the night? Are your wives aware of this visit?" asked Madam Louise. "Of course they are, grandma. It's been some time since we visited you. Amanda had to take care of Davina; but she sends her best wishes." replied Derek. "Esther is in the Phoenix Bunker, going through some research with the Phoenix Mafia. She sends her best wishes too." added Charles. "How's Peter and Lea? I heard Francois Bakery is back in business." Madam Louise asked Derek in excitement. "We were there a few days ago to visit them. Business is booming, to say the least. Thankfully, a few of Pamela's former henchmen asked to work as their staff and they were a great help." replied Derek with pride. "What were you doing, grandma? You looked happy when we saw you at your desk." asked Charles as they walked with Madam Louise to her table. "Oh, I was just looking at some old photos. Here, have a look at your baby selves." replied Madam Louise as she showed Charles and Derek the photos on her desk. "Wow. We were so little back then. How time flies." said Charles as he looked at his own photos. Derek too felt slightly emotional as he looked at photos of his late foster parents Edward and Emma. As he continued to look at his foster parents' photos, Derek came across a photo that caught his attention. "Grandma, since when did Mum and Dad have another child? Was he adopted too?" asked Derek as he passed the photo he was holding to Madam Louise. Madam Louise took a look at the photo Derek passed to her. Initially, she had a puzzled look on her face. "Hmmm... this is peculiar. To my memory, Emma was barren, so they could not have children of their own." As Madam Louise continued to analyze the photo, she suddenly remembered who the toddler in the photo was. "I remember now, Derek; but with that said, things are going to get complicated." said Madam Louise. "How so, grandma?" asked Charles. "If I recall correctly, the baby in the photo is Oliver, Judith's younger brother." Madam Louise began to explain. "Back when I was, well, my past self, I favoured Judith over Oliver because she was obedient, unlike him. Years later, when their parents sadly passed away, I sent Oliver to an orphange far away from Townsville. I have not seen him since; and I don't know how he is doing now." she explained. "Maybe we can find out. Brother Derek, let me scan the photo on my phone." said Charles. He then took a picture of the photo on his phone and contacted Ivy. "We should get some information about Oliver in a few minutes." reported Charles. "That quick, Charles?" asked Derek, surprised at Charles's efficiency. "Ivy has developed some form of prototype A.I. software recently. Apparently, the software can detect a face and determine how that face will age as the years go by." "It can also link to that face's whereabouts. It sounds really complicated and very advanced at the same time." replied Charles. "Holy s**t, if this prototype works, she has to patent it as soon as possible." remarked Derek. "Language, my dear boy." Madam Louise warned Derek, chuckling slightly. Ding! Charles phone chimed as soon as he finished his explanation. "Ok, it looks like Ivy has some info." "Apparently, this Oliver is now residing somewhere at Metro City, going by the name Oliver Reed. He is married into a wealthy family there. His wife's name is Christina Connors." reported Charles. "Is that so? Well, I'm glad that he is doing just fine." said Derek upon hearing Charles's report. "Don't be so sure, brother. There's more." interjected Charles. "According to Ivy's report, Oliver has been unemployed ever since marrying into the Connors family. It seems like he is a live-in son-in-law; and not in the best way." he added. "Oh no... Oliver is being treated like how you were in the past, Derek." said Madam Louise, with a tinge of regret and sadness in her voice. "It's ok, grandma. What's past is past." replied Derek as he held Madam Louise's hand warmly. "No, Derek. This time the past is going to come back to haunt me. It seems that Oliver is going through a tougher life than you had." said Madam Louise. "She's got a point, brother Derek. Imagine being given away to an orphanage and having to suffer like you had; and then the life of suffering continues being married to a wealthy family as a live-in son-in-law." added Charles. "You may be right, Charles. We have to approach this wisely. We all have to show Oliver that there is light at the end of his dark tunnel." "We have to let him know that the family that once abandoned him has changed their ways, ready to bring him back." said Derek. "Trust me and Charles, grandma. The past will not come back to haunt you." "I believe in you both. What's your plan?" asked Madam Louise. The next day, it was business as usual for the Connors Conglomerate. Christina was in her office dealing with her work; but unlike her usual self, Christina was preoccupied. She could not shake off the gravitas of the text messages that she received the night before. No matter how she tried, she could not decipher or discover any hidden meanings behind the texts.'All I know is that I'll be meeting this person soon enough. I will have a lot of questions to ask when we do.' thought Christina.*Knock knock*"Hey sis, you have a minute?" asked Lacy as she popped her head in. "Yeah sure; but I don't have a lot of time. Come in." replied Christina."Look, sis..." Lacy began as she took her seat opposite Christina. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you that Alfonso Oliviera was your plus one for QS Holding's event. I wanted to surprise you; but Darren had to screw things up."Christina replied, "Look, that does not matter now. Do me a favour. Don't arrange anymore plus ones for me. I rather go to th
"Who are you??? How dare you step into the Connors household unannounced!" Thomas scolded them harshly. "Take off your hoodies, remove your masks and identify yourselves!" demanded Cleo."As you wish, Sir and Madam Connors." The two masked people did as Cleo demanded and revealed themselves to the Connors, as well as Karen and her crew."Our apologies for the sudden intrusion. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is... Kellan Miller. This is my wife Sylvia.""We were once high ranking officials in QS Holdings. Now, thanks to that trash Oliver Reed, we are disgruntled former employees." added Sylvia.Sandy grew curious and asked, "Explain, Kellan and Sylvia. How could a broke trash loser cost both of you your jobs."Kellan replied promptly, "On the day we were fired, Lorraine Mensah addressed that loser as boss. As you may be aware, Lorraine Mensah is the CEO of QS Holdings. Why would she call that trash loser 'boss' ?"Sylvia added, "We were shocked; but we had to be sure. So, earlie
"Mr. Reed, there's one more thing..." Victoria, of all people, spoke up to Oliver. "Pardon my boldness, Mr. Reed; but this morning, I saw your jade ring glow up and you were in a trance."Murmurs could be heard among the Krauser Kartel and the Phoenix Mafia. Ethan then spoke up too, "Yeah, about that, Mr. Reed, recently you have been acting, well, weird.""Ethan's right." Lorraine chimed in. "Oliver, for the last few days, it seems you have been in periodic trances. It's starting to become a pressing matter.""We think that your change in behaviour is related to the jade ring you are wearing." added Latisha.Oliver understood what they meant. He was appreciative of the concern that the Kartel and the Mafia showed to him."Everyone, I apologise if my recent behaviour has put some, if not all of you in uncomfortable positions. I can assure you that was not my intentions and my behaviour does not change who I am or what my vision is.""With that said, Latisha, you're right. This ring ha
"Ugh... I feel like I inhaled knockout gas..."That was the common consensus as Margaret, Jackson, Kitana, Karen, Jerome, Aliyah, Macy and Fred came to their senses after they were asleep from the sleeper darts that Gordan, Henry and Holly struck them with."Is everyone alright?" asked Jackson as he looked around. "We're still breathing, so we're fine." Karen answered her."That son of a bitch Barry. How dare he turn his back on me, cheat on me and go date another woman!" Margaret snapped in anger and slammed her fist on the floor."When I find out who that bitch is, I will kill her in front of that bastard Barry!!" she sneered in rage.Aliyah then remembered something and said to Margaret, "I may have an idea who she is, Ms. Margaret. When Barry and his cronies were leaving, I heard him mention the name Yuriko."Fred was surprised when he heard Aliyah. "Yuriko... do you mean... Yuriko Takahashi from QS Holdings?!?" he asked Aliyah. "Well, how many Yurikos do you or anyone know in Met
At the front of QS Tower, Oliver had just parked at his VIP spot. Stepping out of his car, he made a beeline to the entrance, knowing Team Reed was waiting for him at his office."Hey Oliver." a voice greeted him from behind. When Oliver turned around, he was surprised to see Ian and Rose catching up with him."Hey Ian, Rose, what are you guys doing out here?" asked Oliver as all three of them made their way into the building."We just came back from lunch at Nikoffee, now we are heading back to work. It's a coincidence to see you here at this hour too." replied Ian. "Yeah, likewise." said Oliver."By the way, Oliver, do you communicate with Ms. Lorraine's main team too?" asked Rose, much to Oliver's surprise. "Err, yes I do, occasionally. Why do you ask?" said Oliver curiously.Rose replied in a gossiping manner, "Well, you didn't hear this from us... but we heard rumours that Ms. Yuriko is dating.""Shh... not so loud, Rose." Ian shushed her quickly.Rose's reply peaked Oliver's cu
"Oliver, what's wrong?"Corey, Julian, Ethan and Latisha saw that Oliver was in a trance. That was not the first time for Ethan and Latisha; but it was for Corey and Julian. What they did not know was that Oliver's jade ring glowed, causing Oliver's clairvoyance ability to activate again. After a few seconds; but seemed like eternity, Oliver broke out of his clairvoyance."Mr. Reed. Is everything ok?" asked Latisha. Oliver took a few seconds to regain his bearings; but assured Latisha he was fine.'Damn, why did my ring glow again, now of all times? And what was with that vision?' thought Oliver."Oliver... your ring... where did you get it? I have never noticed that you had that ring." remarked Corey when she saw Oliver's jade ring."Oh, this? This was given to me by my late parents when I was young. I never really showed it; but now that I've grown up, I thought it's about time I started wearing it." replied Oliver, telling Corey half-truths.Julian then chimed in, "Well, now that t
