Chrysalis's POV

Age six

I don’t know why he always has to make me so mad. Whenever we decide on a plan of action he ruins it and blames it on me. Then I’m the one that gets punished. Ugh!

Jamerson and I had planned our escape from today’s lessons so we could go to the training grounds and train with the warriors. I had everything lined up perfectly. I even drew him a map. That dummy had no sense of direction. He zigged when I zagged and then it went downhill from there. Literally! I slid right into a puddle at the bottom of the hill, getting mud all over the white dress my mom had laid out for me to put on this morning.

Then, Jamerson snuck off to get cleaned up before anyone saw him. I got stuck with enough witnesses for it to get back to the Alpha and Luna, my parents.

My parents liked to tell me to behave and be a good example for the other pups. Always saying things like, "The alpha’s children need to be someone others can look to for guidance." I don’t even know why they say children. My parents haven’t had another child since I was born. I wish they would have a boy so I don’t have to behave anymore and he can get in trouble with Jamerson instead of me. I also won’t have to be alpha when I grow up and shift for the first time.

I can’t even tell on Jamey because we’re best friends and we made a pact. Even signed in blood. A little spit too but no one knows. A big wolf told us how to do it and made us promise not to tell anyone that he taught us. So, even if I wanted to strangle Jamey I can’t really hurt him or him me. Not that I would really try to. But right now a little man..man..mam… maning! Yeah, I think that’s what it is called. A little maning wouldn’t hurt me that much right now.

As I walked out of my father's office I stomped through the pack house, garden, and training grounds to the woods.

Then, here came Jamey. All smiles and clean clothes. How he even managed to clean up so fast is beyond me. He can't even beat my time on the obstacle course. Then I see it. Some dirt behind his ear.

“Don’t you come out here smiling at me like everything is okay Jamerson Wild boy,” I yelled!

He stutters in his approach a little. “Chrys.” His voice spikes a little in the middle of saying my nickname he likes to use whenever he wants me to go along with him. “Chrysie," he tried again. "It’s not that bad,” he said.

I looked at him and slapped the left side of his face covering his ear. The side of my face stung just a tiny bit. I grabbed the leaf and twig from behind his ear that he didn’t get rid of while cleaning himself. I pulled the pieces away and dropped them in front of his face. He held the side of his face while looking at me like he couldn't believe I had actually hit him. “You missed a spot,” I said. After closing his mouth he says, “I guess I did." "Thanks,” he responds while rubbing the side of his face.

I continue walking through the woods wishing for the first time that I could shift already. I wanted to use my wolf to run along the stream and not stop until I reached the waterfall I could feel from here.

Since he wanted to keep following me I decided to stop and really let him have it. I said, “Jamerson, it was and still is that bad. I was the one who got caught when you ran off and left me to get in trouble by myself. You know dad. He is the alpha and my dad! Which means double trouble for me.”

Jamey interrupted me saying, “Chrys, that’s why I left. I thought you’d be in less trouble than the beta’s son." He continued, "You know what my dad will do to me if I get into more trouble so close to the mid summer trials. I won’t get to go with you either.” He kicked a rock and almost tripped.

I spun around. Seeing him a little sad almost made me not so mad. Then I remembered my punishment. I said, “That still might happen, you ding dong!”

I started walking a circle around Jamey. Before I could get into my explanation I began to feel hot in my tummy then it went to my chest. I grabbed my tummy before I dropped to my knees. At first I could hear Jamey saying my name. Then it sounded like it did when he would call my name whenever I’d go under the water in the lake. I started to feel hot in my throat. It was like it just started to crawl up and I just wanted to release it. Just let it explode out of me. Then it started to feel hot in my hands and my ears. I grabbed my head covering my ears and it felt like there was something moving. I let go and looked up at Jamey. All of a sudden there was something pulling me away but it was coming from the inside of me. Then all I could see were a bunch of colors. My ears started to hurt. There was too much noise. Right as I was thinking I couldn't last any longer feeling this way everything went black.

IJude’s POV I was waiting on the foyer near the grand entrance of the ballroom with Blade when her scent hit me.“Mate,” Ji said immediately. We were waiting on Kayne to finish up. He was also checking on the guys that entered the trials.I began to look at every female figure nearby to see if I could find her.“Just follow your nose and hurry before she gets away.” Ji was rushing me.I got this. I told him. I looked towards the back of the hall at a group of women slowly making their way towards the entrance. I saw a woman whose features reminded me of Chrysalis talking to her group of women with a large guard escorting them. She leaned in to speak to one of them and I knew it had to be her. I would know that body anywhere. Her dress was mostly an ivory color with black in different areas. Her perky breasts were calling to me and any one else looking. Her bodice insinuated her waist and the split of the dress ran all the way up to the tip of her fucking hip. My ey

Chrysalis’s POV We finally made it out of the suite and were heading to the ballroom. The girls had been good sports this whole time while I complained about my mother. She didn’t let it faze her though. I did have to admit that she’d done a great job with our dresses. Mine was black and white. Jade’s was different shades of purple with black underneath that could be seen through the high split. At least hers stopped high on her thigh and didn’t go all the way up her hip like mine and Mizuki’s. Mizuki’s dress was a crimson red that was also black underneath. Mom knew that that dare devil would love nothing less. Then Sylvi’s was different shades of blue. We all looked like we should have been posing for someone's magazine cover. We probably would end up on a few. Mom was wearing a daring number with a split just as high as Mizuki’s and mine. She walked ahead of us confidently.I watched the wondering eyes she was capturing as she went.“Mother?”“Yes Chrysalis?” “Um. D

Chrysalis’s POVWe were all in my suite getting ready for the ball. Mother was moving back and forth between all four of us. Mizuki was trying to help her when she wasn’t being fussed over. We had an extra crew with us for this occasion.“Mother?” I asked.“Yes Chrysalis.”“Don’t you think you should let the crew do their job so you can get ready as well?” I asked her.“Fine. Let me at least help you out a bit.” She came over to me. “There is no need for that.” I said getting worried that I’d made myself the main target of her motherly love. She came over and whispered in my ear, “You have to look good for your mate after all.”“Mother.” I warned as I rolled my eyes“At least let me help make sure your dress fits right.” she begged. “Fine. Let’s get this done so we can get done. I’m sure we will be fashionably late anyway.” I said walking towards the other side of the room to get my dress out of the wardrobe.“I got it Chrysie.” She said running in front of me. She hadn’t

  • Witching: Her Trial, His Error   Chapter 164: I have one too

Jude’s POV I walked into Kayne’s suite without knocking. I closed the door and walked to his bar to get a drink. I can’t believe he found his mate and he’s just now telling me. But I guess I haven’t made it easy for him to want to talk to me about it. I also can’t believe that as close as we were growing up that we don’t share a mate. I really thought we were meant to. I don’t know why but I always thought we would and I didn’t have a problem with it. I figured he only had an issue with Jillian because she wasn’t our mate. Kayne walked out of what I assumed was the bathroom and came over to grab the drink I’d made.He downed it before pouring another.I laughed at him .“Is it that bad?” I asked.“Not really. But she does drive me crazy. Things may be smoothing out though.”“Do you want to tell me about her or anything?” I questioned. “Um. Yea. I do actually. I almost forgot how good it feels to talk to you.” he said, blowing out a breath. At that moment Blade walke

  • Witching: Her Trial, His Error   Chapter 163: Where's Mizuki?

Blade’s POVI was driving myself crazy. I should be in Rose City by now getting ready for that fucking ball. But I’m not. I’m snooping around Chrysalis’s packhouse like a stalker. I’ve been having visions of Mizuki and only Mizuki since our last encounter. I haven’t received a vision of anything else to come and I need to clear this up before our guys go on this mission.I finally realized the girls weren’t here yet again. I don’t know how I keep missing them. I left the property so that I could portal to the lounge. I found out I could no longer portal onto the property. Everytime I stepped out on the other side of the portal I would be on the sidewalk leading up to the property. I made a portal to the next destination and stepped out. I checked the back parking to see if any of their vehicles were here and there weren't. That didn’t give me much hope of finding anyone inside. I walked over to the VIP side and the guard didn’t give me any trouble as I walked past him.

  • Witching: Her Trial, His Error   Chapter 162: Jillian's Home.

Jude’s POV I was watching Kayne subtly. Waiting to see if he was going to say anything about what was bothering him.All of sudden Ji perked up.“I can smell my little witch. Where is she?” He said.I began to look around trying to figure out where the smell was coming from.I couldn’t find it. I know she’s an Alpha but I didn’t think she’d be here in the castle. I looked over at Kayne as he turned to me. He finally spoke to me via mind-link and I almost tripped over my own two feet when I was about to start walking again.I just stared and he stared back. I decided to wait until we were alone to talk about it. I nodded at him so he could know I caught it and proceeded to move down our wing with our guard.Sam came up just as we made it down our corridor. “Hey guys I have the roster so we can keep up with what’s going on. I can’t believe they're having the ball tonight when there’s going to be enough tension in the air to cut it. But I am excited to see what I can get into
