INICIAR SESIÓNChrysalis wasn’t any closer to shifting and being the alpha heir to the Blackcrest pack was weighing on her. She spent most of her time on the Human plane. After college the family business grew under her watch. Don't be fooled. She may not be over the pack yet but, Chrysalis was far from weak. She was a fierce. she held her own against any creature thinking they could cross her. After the rumors of the “Chosen One” being more than myth, she has to face the facts and figure out her true purpose. Running into Kayne Blacksun was not the distraction she needed when everywhere she turned there was a different face and a problem with it. From first sight. Kayne’s face was the star of her nightmares with his changing eyes and toned body. She wasn’t going to let him or anyone stop her from finding the truth and protecting her pack from what was coming. Kayne's pack was growing at an alarming rate. He couldn’t believe his brother was still sulking all these years later. He could be a real asset to the pack if he'd step up. He didn't have time to monitor him right now though. He had to attend the first meeting of the trials which put him right in front of Blackcrest’s alpha heir. Shockingly she was nothing he expected but everything he never knew he wanted. He knew her formidable body had an aura packed full of power. The power to create and the power to destroy. He was already jeopardizing alliances with all the truths she's bringing forth. Looking into her glowing eyes he knew she was going to be the death of him.
Ver másChrysalis's POV
Age six
I don’t know why he always has to make me so mad. Whenever we decide on a plan of action he ruins it and blames it on me. Then I’m the one that gets punished. Ugh!
Jamerson and I had planned our escape from today’s lessons so we could go to the training grounds and train with the warriors. I had everything lined up perfectly. I even drew him a map. That dummy had no sense of direction. He zigged when I zagged and then it went downhill from there. Literally! I slid right into a puddle at the bottom of the hill, getting mud all over the white dress my mom had laid out for me to put on this morning.
Then, Jamerson snuck off to get cleaned up before anyone saw him. I got stuck with enough witnesses for it to get back to the Alpha and Luna, my parents.
My parents liked to tell me to behave and be a good example for the other pups. Always saying things like, "The alpha’s children need to be someone others can look to for guidance." I don’t even know why they say children. My parents haven’t had another child since I was born. I wish they would have a boy so I don’t have to behave anymore and he can get in trouble with Jamerson instead of me. I also won’t have to be alpha when I grow up and shift for the first time.
I can’t even tell on Jamey because we’re best friends and we made a pact. Even signed in blood. A little spit too but no one knows. A big wolf told us how to do it and made us promise not to tell anyone that he taught us. So, even if I wanted to strangle Jamey I can’t really hurt him or him me. Not that I would really try to. But right now a little man..man..mam… maning! Yeah, I think that’s what it is called. A little maning wouldn’t hurt me that much right now.
As I walked out of my father's office I stomped through the pack house, garden, and training grounds to the woods.
Then, here came Jamey. All smiles and clean clothes. How he even managed to clean up so fast is beyond me. He can't even beat my time on the obstacle course. Then I see it. Some dirt behind his ear.
“Don’t you come out here smiling at me like everything is okay Jamerson Wild boy,” I yelled!
He stutters in his approach a little. “Chrys.” His voice spikes a little in the middle of saying my nickname he likes to use whenever he wants me to go along with him. “Chrysie," he tried again. "It’s not that bad,” he said.
I looked at him and slapped the left side of his face covering his ear. The side of my face stung just a tiny bit. I grabbed the leaf and twig from behind his ear that he didn’t get rid of while cleaning himself. I pulled the pieces away and dropped them in front of his face. He held the side of his face while looking at me like he couldn't believe I had actually hit him. “You missed a spot,” I said. After closing his mouth he says, “I guess I did." "Thanks,” he responds while rubbing the side of his face.
I continue walking through the woods wishing for the first time that I could shift already. I wanted to use my wolf to run along the stream and not stop until I reached the waterfall I could feel from here.
Since he wanted to keep following me I decided to stop and really let him have it. I said, “Jamerson, it was and still is that bad. I was the one who got caught when you ran off and left me to get in trouble by myself. You know dad. He is the alpha and my dad! Which means double trouble for me.”
Jamey interrupted me saying, “Chrys, that’s why I left. I thought you’d be in less trouble than the beta’s son." He continued, "You know what my dad will do to me if I get into more trouble so close to the mid summer trials. I won’t get to go with you either.” He kicked a rock and almost tripped.
I spun around. Seeing him a little sad almost made me not so mad. Then I remembered my punishment. I said, “That still might happen, you ding dong!”
I started walking a circle around Jamey. Before I could get into my explanation I began to feel hot in my tummy then it went to my chest. I grabbed my tummy before I dropped to my knees. At first I could hear Jamey saying my name. Then it sounded like it did when he would call my name whenever I’d go under the water in the lake. I started to feel hot in my throat. It was like it just started to crawl up and I just wanted to release it. Just let it explode out of me. Then it started to feel hot in my hands and my ears. I grabbed my head covering my ears and it felt like there was something moving. I let go and looked up at Jamey. All of a sudden there was something pulling me away but it was coming from the inside of me. Then all I could see were a bunch of colors. My ears started to hurt. There was too much noise. Right as I was thinking I couldn't last any longer feeling this way everything went black.
Chrysalis’s POV One second my eyes were iridescent as Ember came forward growling at Trevor and the next his face was planted on the table at the booth.I had his right hand drawn up behind him with my left hand on his neck holding him down. A few seconds earlier he’d grabbed me by the waist to pull me towards him but Ember wasn’t having any of that. I wasn’t having that. The other thing that had me thrown off was the fact that Tai had just sat there. Unmoving. He wanted to kill Jamey when we were at the Accords but he just sat there watching Trevor put his hands all over me.Well trying to. I was done. I know we haven’t spoken to each other in such a long time and I know we haven’t mated. But really. I thought I meant something to him. You don’t just stop being mates unless you reject each other. And I know I wasn’t rejected. I’d have felt it. I can still feel our connection even though I can’t smell him at the moment and it seems a bit off. “Oh! You finally got you
Chrysalis’s POVI was dreading the conversation I was about to have. Not because it was with Trevor. But because it was going to put me in the proximity of Tai and Kayne. Fun fact; ‘Out of sight, out of mind’ is somewhat true. It is easy to not think of someone when they’re all the way on the other side of the realm. Now I was going to have to think about any feelings I had been avoiding. Yes, I missed Tai and the small amount of time we’d got to spend together. But, I’ve been pretty busy with the expansion and getting my pitch together for the Magic Counsel so that Chrystal Forms could get the green light.“How are things going with Jamey?” Blake asked. “Great. Just about nailed the last nail in the coffin so he’ll have full control soon. Has he been home to see your mom yet?” “Not yet. When he got back from the Accords he had to deal with a few things that he’s been keeping his eye on. But she was able to go and visit him. He didn’t tell you?” he asked me. “No. We
Blake’s POVI went to open the door to bring him back.“Don’t Blake.” Chrys said. It wasn’t a command. But I still stopped with my hand on the door. She’d never intentionally used her Alpha command on me. And I respected her for that. She knew she didn’t have to.“We’re just going to let him leave? After what he’s done.” I asked.“Yes.” She said simply.I let go of the door. And turned around to pace the room.“You heard what he said.” She began as she went to sit at the desk.“What’s that? The part where he’d got his dick wet?” I asked. “Come on Blake. I know you’re mad but you don’t really want to hurt Levy. He’s like a brother to you.” “Exactly, brothers teach one another lessons when they are falling behind. So I need to go kick his ass.” I told her still pacing.“It’s more complicated than we think.” “And you knew he liked her and didn’t tell me? And how is that complicated?” I asked.“Blake, sit down and I will explain what you weren’t able to pick up on through your f
Blake’s POV Before I lost it, what Chrys was saying began to register in my mind so I stood by the door and listened first.“I told you to let her down easy not fuck her brains out.” She scolded him.She knew about this?“Wait a minute. Chrys it wasn’t…” She cut him off.“Don’t. At least now you’ve got yours so now you can leave her alone.”The hell? That’s not all he’s going to get when I get a hold of him. “I was trying to tell you. It’s not like that. I’ve been avoiding her since we met. She kept seeking me out and I got caught up tonight. I didn’t see her coming.” He tried to explain.“So it’s her fault you can’t keep it in your pants?” she asked.Right! I thought, agreeing with her. “Glad you think so highly of me. But no. I’m not blaming her. I’m just saying I tried to stay away. I know she is different somehow. Not because you’ve said so. I see it and I feel it. She keeps doing these things to me.” he said and I almost didn’t catch the end because of the change in his
Chrysalis’s POV Okay weirdo. What is your deal? First you don’t answer me while I was in that crazy dream. Or vision. Then you go crazy about Jade going to the Accords. You know, we’re supposed to be bonding and that involves communication. “I’m sorry Chrysalis. I will try to do better going
Mizuki’s POVGan-Gan and I watched Chrys disappear through the portal. She checked on Jade one last time before walking over to Jade’s desk and examining it. Like she was trying to figure out what the girl had been up to.I sat on the chase that was near the bed. Gan-Gan finally stopped going
Blake’s POV I finally rounded up those I’ve chosen to be on guard when we leave for the Accords tomorrow evening. A few of them have worked with Kendrick and his men before so we won’t have to worry about the two team's collaborating.I walked into our house after tracking my father down here. M
Chrysalis’s POVI stared at them. Waiting to see if either of them wanted to go first. No one spoke.“Would you guys like to go into my office or stay here?” I asked them. They looked at one another then back at me.“I think it best if we go into your office.” Blake answered for them. Nowadays i
