Chrysalis's POV

Age Six

When I woke up. I felt heavy at first. It was hard to get up off the ground. Then all of a sudden I could hear, see, and smell way better than I could remember ever before. I shook my head and started turning in a circle and looking around.

"Jamey?" I called. "Jamey, it's not funny," I stressed on the last word. "Jamey?!" I screamed. "This is not a fun game," I said. I started walking around. "I'm not mad anymore. You can stop playing around," I said. I really started to get nervous saying, "I promise I won't be angry with you if you would just come out!" "Where are you Jamey?," I said as tears started streaming down my face.

I began to run around looking behind tree after tree. I finally started to smell the forest and it smelled different than I remembered. In fact these trees were a lot bigger than I remembered. I know it wasn't this dark out when I left my father's office. Why did the leaves look almost black and kinda shiny? It looked like ink was oozing out of the trunks. I mostly stopped crying by now. Trying to figure out what was going on. As I got closer and closer to what looked to be the edge of the forest I could hear a lot of footsteps. It sounded like people were running. I thought it was normal because we were close to the training grounds. Then I heard clanking. I think it was swords? Maybe I was getting close to a pad where some were practicing with swords.

Then all of sudden I heard a crunch sound coming from behind me. I spun around thinking it was finally Jamey coming out from his hiding spot. I was so wrong. It looked like a wolf but also a shadow of a wolf at the same time. It looked like smoke was rising off of it. Or, maybe it was the smoke. It was hard to describe. I do know it gave me the feeling that it meant a lot of harm and a lot of pain if I didn't get away from it.

looking at the massive beast I said, "Jamey. If you can hear me you better run! Now! Go find my father!"

I turned and ran as fast as I could to get to the edge of the forest. I noticed I wasn't breathing that hard. I noticed the trees seemed to fly by. As I was running I turned to look over my shoulder and I didn't see anything chasing me. I turned back around as I burst out of the forest and came to a stop. There were people, wolves and other beings I had never seen before all fighting. I didn't know who was fighting who. I did know that all I wanted to do was get out of there at that moment.

Were we invaded in the small amount of time that I was walking in the forest? I didn't recognize any of these wolves or whatever else the other beings were.

All of sudden I caught a glimpse of myself in a shield that was jammed into the ground. My ears were elongated with thick brownish red fur. My eyes seemed to shimmer a different color no matter where I looked. Then my hands had the same color fur as my ears. My nails had turned into claws. I even had a long fluffy tail. "What is?," I opened my mouth to speak only to notice my canines were a little longer and they were almost cutting into my bottom lip when I closed my mouth. Even with all the fighting going on I began to move closer in shock. But before I could take the second step I felt pain shoot across my back. I arched to my tippy toes and then spun around. I was once again facing another one of those things that I thought was a wolf. Only this one was a little bit more whole and smaller than the last one.

It went to swipe at me again and on pure instinct I rolled out of the way before its claws could dig in. I saw in the shield that the new cut was through the front of my dress. In the reflection of the shield I could see in the opening of my dress a red and white symbol or something was on my chest under my collarbone. Looking back at the half wolf I got angry again like I did with Jamey. I noticed there were more wolves behind the first. Without thinking I ran and attacked. I ran my new claws through the shadow of the wolf meeting its neck. Wolf after wolf I felt skin give way and bones breaking. With every twist and turn I felt one go down behind me. Jumping from wolf to wolf It was so easy that I kept running and kept clawing until the line of wolves were down.

Not breathing too hard I looked to see if there were more coming at me. Then I spotted what looked to be some kind of mansion or castle in the distance and ran for it.

A pack appeared of what looked to be normal-ish wolves blocking my path. A few of them noticed me and started towards me. I crouched down in my earth stance like I've seen the warriors in my pack do when fighting without their wolf. I could tell they were wolves but there was something magical about them. I wasn’t going to wait for them to get a hold of me. I launched as they started towards me. They were good fighters it seemed. They dodged my claws but weren't fast enough. I caught two on their shoulders as I was trying to get by them. Their wounds weren't fatal but it kept them away.

Before I could strike a third wolf the same way I had struck the others I heard someone yelling, "Stop!" The wolf I was going up against pulled up a shield before my claws could meet their flesh and was knocked back quite a few feet.

I turned to the other wolves advancing and started to feel that hot feeling again. It was mostly in my chest and throat again. All of sudden in what felt like a different voice I said, "Yield. Don't come any closer." All them except for two of the wolves in the front fell to their knees turning their heads to show their necks in submission. There were a few in wolf form who went to their bellies to do the same. The two in front did not submit but wore shocked faces as they looked at me. It was a male and female. Maybe the alpha and luna. I don't know what they saw but, I could still feel the heat in my chest and throat. It felt as if the pressure was building. I think it was because the two wolves were still standing. They were fighting with my command.

The male finally spoke. "Little one. It is alright. You can stop fighting. We are going to give in so we do not hurt you. But don't hurt us once we do. We're going to help you sort this out."

I couldn't speak because of the hot pressure. I was able to move my chin up a little. Once I did they got to one knee as if to bow and then turned their heads to show me their necks. As they did they also pulled their collars to the opposite side showing some kind of symbol. It kind of looked like a sun.

All of sudden the heat was gone faster than it came. My body got very heavy. As I fell forward one of the two wolves caught me and held me close. They held me like they knew me. Like they knew who I was. Like I was their child. I looked up and found the gold eyes of a she wolf. She moved my hair out of my face while asking, "Where did you come from little one? This battle is not a place for you to be playing around. It is also not yet your time." I tried to tell her the name of my pack and who my parents were but I began to shiver and feel so sleepy.

I closed my eyes for what felt like a split second.  When I opened them again I could tell I was being carried by someone. I turned my head a little bit to the side seeing a glowing of what I thought was the sun. The small amount I could see was weird. It was black but gave off the orange red glow on its edge. My head was too heavy to keep this up so I turned back and saw a glowing moon in the opposite direction. It too had a black center but had a colorful light on its edge.

As my head rested on the stranger I looked up into the gold eyes of a man. Then I hear a lady's voice. I can only assume she is speaking to the man carrying me. She told him, "Seer can't tell us where from or how far she has traveled. We will have to use her as the key to take her back." The man spoke up next. "Would it not be best for us to keep her to protect her until her time comes?" Before I could ask what he meant, she ran her hand over my face and there was nothing but darkness.

Kayne’s POV I stepped out of the shower and grabbed a towel to wrap around my waist. Then I grabbed another to start drying my hair. I opened the bathroom door to walk out. As I took the first step her scent hit me along with her signature perfume. I groaned on the inside so I didn’t let her know how irritated I was. Jillian was sitting on my bed as I fully stepped out. She got up and walked over to my balcony door. She had her hair in big curls today. She was wearing a black business suit and red heels that clicked as she moved about my room. She peeped out the curtain and then turned towards me. I continued to walk into the room not missing a beat. I grabbed my clothes from where they lay on the bed next to where she had been sitting. I turned and walked into my closet, shutting the door behind me. I grabbed a new tank and cargos to put on since I didn’t want to smell like her. I finished getting dressed and walked back out into the room. She was standing in the spot wit

Kayne’s POV I pulled my shirt over my head and threw it on the bleachers as we walked over to have a seat. Drills and a workout had me ready for the day. I needed to go grab some breakfast. My beta Sam tossed me a bottle of water and began drinking his own. “I just caught wind that your brother is here today,” he said. I looked towards the entrance of the gym as Blade walked through it. Blade is a Seer and he has been with my pack since I was a pup. He isn’t a shifter but he pledged his life to my father once he became of age to do so. Before then he was under my father’s protection and now I’ve taken on that pact. He is one of my best friends. His position isn’t normal, as a Seer is usually a female. It's for that reason he is doing his own research on his background. For now he can keep his privacy on it so long as his safety or the packs’ isn’t in jeopardy. He walked over to where we were sitting with his hands in his suit pockets. “I knew I’d find you two in here. Dril

  • Witching: Her Trial, His Error   Chapter 13: Fiery Dreams

Kayne’s POV How did I get here? I looked around the dark passage. If I wasn’t a wolf I wouldn’t be able to see a damn thing in here. I started to hear some noise down the tunnel I was walking in. It sounded like footsteps. I couldn’t tell if they were coming or going yet. I kept moving but stealthy so I didn't let whoever it was hear me approaching. As I got closer I could see an opening. I saw a figure stumbling through the open space. I waited before getting any closer to see if they were alone. I didn’t see anyone following them so I started walking again, moving closer. As I approached I could tell it was a female. And she was naked. Before I could get a better look or even a scent, water started pouring from the ceiling into the open space. She looked back at the sound. When she saw the water she turned back the way she was going and began to run as the water chased her down the passage. I began to run towards her but it was too late. All the water that came down wa

Chrysalis’s POV“Chrysalis?”“Chrysalis?”I groaned a little as I began to stretch. I heard my name being called again.“Chrys darling. Please wake up,” my mother whispered loudly. My eyes popped open. I looked up at my mother leaning over me as if she had been trying to wake me. I was hot. I started kicking out of the covers. I wasn’t sweating. I was literally hot. I put my legs over the side of the bed. My mother backed up with her hands covering her mouth.“What is it mother?” I stood and walked towards her. Before I got too close I saw my reflection in one of my mirrors. Even though the room was dark I could see my veins were glowing under my skin and so were my eyes. I shut my eyes and took a breath. When I opened my eyes there was only a dull glow. My mother touched my shoulder and turned me back towards her. “Are you okay Chrysalis? What happened?,” my mother asked.“Nothing. I think I was dreaming and you woke me up. What is wrong with me?,” I panicked. Before she

Chrysalis’s POV I coughed into my hand as I stumbled through what seemed to be an underground tunnel. The walls were made of dirt. I could only see due to my wolf senses. It felt cool and damp as I kept moving along the walls, but my body was hot. I could see steam rising from my arms. I had no idea where I was going. I could feel my body being pulled in what felt like the right direction. It was the feeling I got when attaching to the gateway in the forest. I don’t even know how I got here, or where here is. I just kept going. I came to an open space that had multiple tunnel entrances that looked to lead to different areas. Each one had a different color of light glowing in them. This space had a serene feeling. As I stepped out of the dark tunnel I was in, I saw a drop of water fall from the ceiling. I looked up and saw nothing but water. I threw my hands up thinking it was going to fall down at any moment. When nothing happened I realized it was safe. I put my arms

  • Witching: Her Trial, His Error   Chapter 10: Precious Gifts

Chrysalis's POV Sweating, I walked back into my mothers study. I’m not even this tired after kicking ass on the training grounds. Dueling with Gan-Gan was fun and invigorating though. For the first time the walls lead me straight to my mother. She was beginning to stand as I walked through the door of her office.“Already finished? It looks as though you thoroughly enjoyed yourself.” I nodded my head as I walked further into the room. She closed the book she had open on her desk. Placed it on her bookshelf and turned to walk to the door.“Shall we?,” she asked as she opened the door.Again, I nodded and followed her out.“Are you too tired to make the connection to the gateway after your lesson?” She asked. I knew what she was doing. She was upset and sulking about the whole dream thing. I shook my head to let her know I was fine and began to create the connection. Once I had it I took us through the portal. Since it hadn’t been that long in between travels it wasn’t as ja
