Chapter 15- Send Off

I crawled into bed and slept for several hours after I watched the guys go to the guest house to go to bed. I knew the wolves wouldn't be back and I wouldn't get any answers tonight, but at least I got information by spying and got to watch my man shift. My man… I liked that thought.
When it was time to get up and start making breakfast, I got dressed in my work blue jeans and a gray t-shirt, then went to the kitchen. I started the coffee pot and started cooking. Amber came stumbling into the kitchen as soon as the coffee was made and headed straight for it. She made her cup in silence, then sat at the table drinking it. I looked out the back door window and saw that no one was headed this way yet. I needed to have a quick conversation with just her.

OwenI sat in the hospital room with Cat all night. She didn’t move or make a sound as she slept in the bed. Preston let me know that the two rogues we had were healing from flesh wounds and had shifted back to their human forms. They were given clothes and water like I had instructed, and nothing more. It was close to four in the morning when they went back to his house to finally rest.I didn’t sleep worth a damn on the hospital chair next to Cat’s bed. It was hard and uncomfortable but I wouldn’t leave her side. Someone needed to be here when she woke up and I wanted to be that someone. I hope she wakes up soon so I can take her home.
