Part 2, Chapter 23- Heading South

Maverick

I was at the back of the rental house sitting on the tailgate of my truck as I sipped an ice-cold beer. Our plans had failed miserably here in the US so far, so I was drinking a six-pack to dull the pain of everything going down the drain. I was frustrated and trying to figure out how we were going to get out of this mess.

The first order of business I had was killing Cote because he was a liability. I didn’t need him talking to anyone in his pack about where we were and what we were doing. Sure, he didn’t know our plans, but he knew where we were and what we looked like. He could point us out in a crowd and get a slap on the wrist for helping us. Fuck that. If we were going down, that bastard would too.

I hope that little fucker knew what he was in for when we snuck onto Juniper Moon territory tomorrow night. I was going to slit his throat while he slept in his bed thinking he was safe. I held great joy thinking of him laying there looking up at me while gaspi
