Jacob Yesterday we put a solid plan together to catch or kill this guy, Maverick, and his team. We knew that they would be coming after Torin to kill him; we just didn’t know when. Torin also said that they might be coming after more cattle at Wolfe Ranch because they loved mom’s cattle. We made plans to have people watching both the ranch and Juniper Moon. We got ready for everything to happen last night just in case they came, but they never showed up. With their absence, I knew it had to be tonight that they would show up. Ivy It’s been two weeks since this whole fiasco started and Jacob killed Maverick. We got the cattle and horses back a day later. When the guard unit found the property, Torin helped section off what animals went where and coordinated pick-up with each pack and human-run ranch. Jasper The radio in my truck was playing country music as I flew down the highway to my next stop. While my music played at a moderate volume, I could also hear the light snoring of my companion. Corbin was a bronc rider from Wyoming that I picked up along the road. He needed a set of wheels and offered to help with fuel costs. I figured why not have someone around to help out and watch my back? Besides, he was pretty funny. Corbin was a tall lean guy with copper-colored skin, black hair, and dark brown eyes. He had your typical Wyoming accent and some ordinary cowboy bad habits like tobacco use. He was nice and would help you out if you needed it, but there wasn’t really anything special about him, other than his ability to ride. I looked at my GPS on the screen of my truck and sighed. Jasper Our weekend in Estes Park went by quickly, so we found some quick temporary work for the week in the area before moving on to the next rodeo. It was important to stay busy while making a little money. We arrived in Colorado Springs this morning for the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo. Corbin signed up for the bronc event and I signed up for the bull riding event again. We were handed our numbers and pulled slips of paper to find out the names of our rides. We left the sign-up office and Corbin looked at the slip of paper in his hand. He started laughing and I looked at him like he was nuts. “My bronc's name is Spicy Lance,” Corbin told me. I started laughing along with him. Who the hell named that horse? “It sounds like something someone would name their dick,” he said as he kept laughing. I laughed even harder before I asked, “How do you think it’s going to sound on the loudspeaker? Corbin Martinez riding on Spicy Lance.” “Oh fuck! I’m gonna sound gay!”
Wolfe Ranch Part 3, Chapter 3- New Mexico
Jasper We were on our way to Santa Fe, New Mexico and I was looking at all the messages on my phone from family and friends back home. A lot has happened back home in the past couple of weeks. Both Ivy and Jacob found their mates and claimed them. There were cattle thieves on the loose, but they were taken care of. My dad killed the neighboring pack’s Alpha and so his son was finally able to take over. Talk about an interesting month for my family. I’m kind of sad that I missed all the fun. I felt bad that I was being so reclusive, but I just didn’t need a lecture from my parents right now about what I was choosing to do with my life. This was my life and I needed to explore what was out there. I needed to find the things that made me happy and fill my soul with meaning and purpose.
