A plan was in motion. William had gotten in contact with Vera who wouldn’t stop yapping about what a dumb decision it was — Theresa succumbing to Simon Tunes’ threat. Also expressing her disappointment in the fact that she allowed the situation take that long before alerting the cops, albeit promising to be discreet about the whole situation, as proposed.
Theresa on the other hand, simply muttered a 'hmm' each time she spoke over the phone. No way this woman was adding to the boiling exasperation she has been feeling for days. Two days. After she had disentangled herself from Sam’s embrace earlier, teasing him, knowing fully well that he was beginning to get heated up, she slowly backed away, wearing a smirk on her face. She had whispered to him that she would relieve him of that suffering if he came by her apartment later that night. Hence the wolfish grin. She left the doctor's office feeling even more dejected than she was when she went in. Sadly, it wasn't the news she had been expecting. Actually what she had expected was either a yes — to a successful surgery operation — or heaven's forbid it, a negative answer. Now, she had to wait around for that answer. It was the buzzing sound of her phone that woke her up that morning. She had slept off on the couch last night. She rubbed her eyes with the back of her palm and reached for the back she had thrown to the sofa yesterday, digging dip into her bag for her phone. She found it and turned the damn thing off, it was her alarm that she had set to remind her to actually wake up on a Saturday morning. It was usually set for ten thirty during the weekends. When she remembered that she would be expecting a call from Margaret, she immediately turned the phone back on. She hadn't gone through it since last night so she seized to opportunity to do so. Who knows? Margaret might have given her a call. As expected there were a lot of her calls from most of her colleagues at work.
