Someone For Sharing

"It's true that the most dangerous thing for a human is their mouth!" Vivi grumbled as she roughly cleaned her hands and mouth with a tissue. "Do I have to pay more than 20.000 dollars for all this food?"

Vivi walked to the door as the bell rang. And she snorted when she saw Darren standing at the door, looking at her with a raised eyebrow as if wondering something.

"I should have known that a fraud like you would never have any sincerity. How could I believe that you wanted to apologize and–"

"Why did you start eating without waiting for me?"

Vivi stopped speaking immediately. Not only because Darren interrupted her but also because of the man's thumb, which touched her lower lip and then, with a very gentle movement, wiped away the remaining sauce from the seafood Vivi was enjoying.

"W-what are you doing?" Vivi asked curtly, trying to act fiercely despite Darren's treatment of her could make her nervous. She was a married woman, but Lucas had divorced her without even touching her, so a touch like that on her virgin body, which a man had never touched, really managed to make Vivi very nervous.

"What are you doing?" Darren casually turned the question back to Vivi. "Why are you eating alone without waiting for me?"

"Why should I wait for you to eat?" Vivi asked back in an unhappy tone.

"Do you think you can eat all by yourself?" Darren asked again.

"Why can't I?"

"This is a portion for two people. Are you sure you can eat it all by yourself?"

Vivi let out a long sigh and looked at Darren with annoyance. She should have known that a cunning man like Darren would never do a favor without an ulterior motive.

"Then wait here. I'll pack up the food and give you everything. EVERYTHING!" Vivi said irritably, emphasizing the last word.

"Actually, it's not about the food, I just want to be able to eat with someone."

Darren's words made Vivi change her mind about leaving the place. She looked at Darren, and her little heart couldn't help but be disturbed when she heard what he had told her.

"I've wanted to eat this for a long time, but since the portion is for two people and I don't have anyone to share it with, I decided against it. Now I've finally found someone to enjoy the food with, so can't you join me to finish the food?"

"Just eat this. I've separated the meat for you."

Vivi, who was about to take a crab, immediately aborted her intention when Darren placed the crab meat separated from the shell on her plate.

"You said you wanted to eat this for a long time, so why were you busy peeling this and that for me?" Vivi protested before stuffing the crab meat into her mouth.

"Watching you eat is more fun than eating it," Darren said as he placed the abalone meat on Vivi's plate. "Here, try the abalone sent directly from Jeju Island."

"I can take care of my food. You finish your food and leave," Vivi scolded.

"What would you like to eat tonight?" Darren asked, making Vivi look at him with a frown on her forehead.

"Why do you want to know? I want to eat everything by myself, so don't even think about coming back and eating with me like this! This is the first and last time I'll never eat with you again," Vivi said, which made Darren frown again.

"I just want to help you achieve your dream. But why are you acting like this?" Darren grumbled.

"What is my dream? What do you have to realize for me to make you have dinner with me?" asked Vivi, not understanding the meaning of Darren's words.

"You said you wanted a warm marriage where you could eat with your husband every day, but the contract marriage you've been in has given you a husband you can't even cook for," Darren said, making Vivi's eyes widen. It seemed as if the woman was surprised that Darren could know her hidden desires that she had never told anyone before.

"You told me everything when you were drunk," Darren explained to answer Vivi's confusion. "About how you want to be hugged, loved, and really treated as a wife. You told me everything when we met at the nightclub."

"I immediately got karma trying to start being a bad girl. I'll never go to a club and drink recklessly again!" Vivi grumbled, taking out her frustration on an innocent lobster shell.

The woman looked at Darren and said, "And you have absolutely no obligation to comply with my wishes just because I told you so, sir."

"I can't ignore it because it's my dream, too," Darren said. "Having someone who can eat and talk with me like this, without caring who I am, is also a hidden dream of mine."

"But I'm not enjoying it right now," Vivi argued. "Maybe you enjoy it, but I can't enjoy it at all when a strange man eats in my house like this."

"Then I'll come more often so you don't feel strange anymore."

Darren's words, which sounded so easy, made Vivi shake her head. It seemed true that for wealthy people with a lot of money, everything in the world was very easy and simple. And it annoyed Vivi because Darren also considered her to be part of that easy world.

"I'm done with my food," Vivi said as Darren put the clam meat on her plate. "I'm going to my room, and you don't have to say goodbye when you leave. Just make it quick, please."

"Why do you keep rejecting me?" asked Darren. "I offered you a marriage contract with far more rewards than your ex-husband gave you, but why do you keep rejecting it?"

"Before I answer that, I'm going to turn the question around to you," Vivi said, which made Darren straighten up because from how Vivi talked to him, it seemed like this would be a really serious conversation.

"Why do you want to have a contract marriage with me, with a woman you only met once in a nightclub? I'm just an ordinary woman, what if I do something bad to you after I marry you because I want to control your wealth?"

Darren knew that Vivi was asking him this very seriously, but somehow it felt ridiculous to Darren that he had to cover his mouth to keep from bursting out laughing in front of Vivi, who was staring at him sharply.

"You wouldn't be so blunt if you had bad intentions toward me," Darren said.

"You never know what's in a person's heart, sir!"

"I don't mind if you tell me your heart right now, miss."

Vivi snorted loudly before saying, "My heart right now is that I want you to leave my house and never show your face in front of me again, FOREVER!"

Darren nodded his head as if he understood what Vivi wanted. Then he leaned over to Vivi and looked at her closer, saying, "Don't you want to know what's in my heart right now?"

Vivi didn't answer, but her gaze, which never left Darren's eyes, seemed to challenge him to continue.

"Damn it, I want this woman more and more," Darren said in his deep, heavy voice, combined with an intense look that somehow intimidated Vivi and made her unconsciously hold her breath.

"This is my heart right now," Darren said as he pulled his body away from Vivi, allowing her to breathe properly again. "And you know, I'm someone who always follows his heart."

Vivi turned her face away from Darren to avoid the man's gaze, feeling that she could no longer stand the tensions he was giving her with his intense gaze. This made her feel a strange throbbing that she had never felt before.

"That doesn't answer my previous question," Vivi said, not daring to look at Darren directly. "What exactly made you offer me that contract marriage?"

"I already answered that. It's because I want you," Darren replied, finally making Vivi look at him.

"Do you like me?" asked Vivi–which without realizing the question she was asking Darren, made her heart beat faster as she waited to see what kind of answer Darren would give her.

"I want you." Darren just gave her the same answer as before. "And I'm someone who always tries to fulfill his wishes."

Vivi snorted as she turned her face away from Darren. Her confidence seemed too high to dare to think that Darren was doing this because he was in love with her. Obviously, this was just about the ego of a rich man who thought he should always get what he wanted.

"It's only three years, right?" asked Vivi, which made Darren raise an eyebrow.

"Will you accept my offer?" Darren asked back in an incredulous tone.

Vivi didn't answer yes to the man's question. But she implicitly showed that she accepted the contract marriage offer when she said, "We can draw up a written contract later, and you'll give me a down payment when I sign it. I won't be shy with you because I know you are wealthy. So prepare a lot of money to make me your contract wife, sir."
