Chapter 12 : Two Serpents
Angela dashed into the house without looking back at the studio. She couldn't stand it when she saw Fredrick and Lara kissing inside Leonardo's studio. It was one of the most heinous acts of betrayal she had ever witnessed. She wished to erase the image of Fredrick and Lara rolling around naked on the floor in their animalistic sexual act. She wanted to vomit but couldn't because her stomach felt like it was being yanked out of her throat. Then she slammed into the main door, not realizing Mrs. Gale was on the other side, and they collided on the floor.
"Oh, God!" exclaimed Angela. "I'm truly sorry, Mrs. Gale."
Mrs. Gale was still stunned by the blow and asked, "What happened to you? Why did you run like that? "

Angela stood a few steps away from Leonardo, like a statue of liberty. Leonardo was enraged because she had lied about her appearance. "What bothers me the most is the liar. Angela's gloomy mood had not been lifted by the scenic beauty of nature. She was already outside the mansion, still enraged at the prospect of Lara agreeing to stop working in order to marry Leonardo. She was well aware that Lara was simply lying in order to gain his consent."You're insane, Angela," Lara yelled from behind her. "Tell me, are you in love with my boyfriend?""Wh-what? Angela parked the car a few meters away from Leonardo's studio. "We're here.""Is the gardener around?" Leonardo asked."I didn't see him.""Good. Angela was delighted by the stars blinking up in the sky because it was such a warm night. It was already eight o'clock, and the silence of the night indicated that no other souls were awake except hers. She couldn't sleep thinking about the hidden painting on the 7th ceiling board in Leonardo's studio. Why was it hidden from the view of others? Who is the crying lady? She pondered. And their hand-painting made her happy. She could still see Lara's face furiously complaining about her as Leonardo's hand-partner in that painting. And the result was fantastic. They created a beautiful spiral design of such a colorful painting, with their hands visible as the last marks over the spiraling multicolor rainbow. And the thought of Leonardo wanting to hear her mention his name, "Leo," caused her to experience a slew of unexpected emotions. She was overjoyed just thinking about it. Angela was stirring her coffee while listening to Leonardo and Lara's loud arguments inside Leonardo's room. Leonardo's decision to postpone their wedding enraged Lara. She wanted it done right away, but Leonardo was adamant about his decision. "What happened, Angela?" Mrs. Gale asked as she emerged from the market with her purchases. Time flies, and each day becomes more exciting for Angela. Leonardo was eager to paint the second painting after "Perspective of the Blind." After their walk, Leonardo decided to create the second painting with Angela. And they're going to make a finger painting. "What are we going to do in finger painting?" Angela inquired as if she were a child. Leonardo and she were both at ease in each other's company. "It's in the title, the finger painting," Leonardo said, smiling. "It should only be painted with our fingers." They were in the middle of the studio's small hall. And the canvas was spread out on the easel in all of its primary colors. Angela was staring at it nervously. "Give me your hand," Leonardo said softly. Angela passed her hand over Leonardo's, and Leonardo caressed it. "You really have soft hands and small long fingers; it's so nice to squeeze," Leonardo teased.
