Chapter Five| Friendship.

I stared at him as I processed his words, 'You're late', he said. Now I for one don't agree and I'm going to shed some late why I don't.

"It really depends on the way you look at it," I said and he raised his head looking at me straight in the eye but not before his eyes taking in what I was dressed in, he gulped and sat straighter cocking his head to the side.

"What way are you looking at it?" he asked and a smile formed glad that he is interested in knowing my view.

"Well, late could be a stream of possible varieties. Looking at this context or should I say your context, you are saying I am late because you came here before me, and that could have been too early. So we don't really know what late is, it could be after I come or after you come," I explained and he pulled his lips into a thin line.

"That didn't make sense at all Amelia, but in your context, I come after you, that is early."

"Huh?" I asked confused and he sighed opening a file.

"What time is it?" he asked paging through the file with a crease on his forehead. I looked at my left arm and glared at the watch disappointed at its correctness, why couldn't it be tardy just like me?

"Eleven o'clock," I whispered and he looked at me with a little smirk playing on his lips.

"Louder please, Ms Adams," so now we're going all formal on each other? Okay.

"Eleven o'clock, sir," I emphasized on the 'sir' and he nodded his head.

"So is that late or early?" he asked folding his arms.

"I'm not a kid," I mumbled looking away from him.

"What was that?" he asked and I looked at him with a smile.

"What is needed of me, Mr Daniels, I mean my occupation?" I asked in a professional tone.

"You're my new PA, the last one quit," he answered looking back down to his files and I frowned taking a step forward.

"But that isn't something I studied for," I told him and he once again looked up to me, his glasses reflecting a bit of the light from the sun, I didn't see it then but looking at it now, this guy has got quite a wonderful view of the city below him, I could sit here and not even worry of my fear of heights.

"I know that, but what you did study for is somewhere along the lines of being CEO, and I can't hand you my company on a silver plate right?" he said and I bit my lip thinking of an answer.

"So you're saying, if I work for you as your personal assistant you will give me your company?" I asked and he dropped his head into his hands. "I'm just playing."

"Ms Adams, we're currently at work, whatever sort of friendship we've got outside of work stays outside of work. Right now I require you to be serious about to job and act professional please," he said and I nodded.

"What do you want me to do?" I asked tilting my head high up pretending as if I wasn't hurt by 'sort of friendship'

I really thought it was somewhat more than friendship... I don't think I want to be here anymore.

"Firstly, you need a tour around the office, let me just finish up here and I will show you-"

"No, it's okay, I'm sure somebody else wouldn't mind showing me around," I said with a small smile and he nodded looking back at his papers.

"Alright then, afterwards I will need you to file those papers and scan all of them into your computer in the correct order," he pointed to the bulk of papers that were on the far end of his table and I sighed mentally looking at them.

"Okay, is that all?" I asked ready to get out of his office and away from him.

"For now, yes," he answered and the crease on his forehead had deepened, what is he thinking about? Not that I should care.

"Where's my office or workspace?" I asked him and he typed something on his laptop before scribbling down a bunch of numbers and letters on a paper.

"Sorry, what was that?" so he wasn't listening, great.

"My workspace?" I repeated and he nodded getting up.

He led me to a smaller room, yet spacious room that was conjoined to his office, it also had an amazing view which I was happy for, and the room was filled with dull colours but the serene paintings did manage to make it, lively yet peaceful...I liked it.

"So that you're closer whenever I need you," he said with his hand still pressed on the lower part of my back. "You know, I could just give you the tour right now since I'm already-"

"No it's okay, you seem to have a lot of work to do. Thank you for showing me the office," I respectfully dismissed him from my personal space, we're not friends here so he cannot be in my personal space.

I placed my bag on the chair and walked back to his office gracefully keeping my head up and not sparing a glance his way. I grabbed the bulk of the papers and took them to my office.

Once I was done arranging my desk the way I wanted it, I left 'our offices' and I saw someone already standing by the door.

"Hi, I'm Kira and Mr Daniels asked me to show you around the office," she said extending her hand and I brought mine to shake hers.

"Amelia," I answered and she smiled.

"Right this way!" she was awfully cheery, and I liked it. She had short curly hair that she let hang around her oval-shaped face. She also had light freckles scattered around her face that somehow made her Jade Green eyes pop. She was a bit on the curvy side, and her black suit was really fitting her well, point is, she was stunning.

She showed me around the office and introduced me to almost everyone, everyone who I probably won't even remember. She talked, a lot, and I enjoyed listening to her tell me little details about herself.

For example, she's afraid of dogs, not really a fan of going out, she is married and she's twenty-eight, she also works in the accounting section and says she was surprised when Daniels asked for her to show me around. Apparently, he's a dick at work.

"He sounds like a dick," I commented as we rode the elevator back up to Mr Daniels floor. Kira burst out into giggles and covered her mouth when a little snort came out, she's super cute.

"Please don't say that in front of him," she said and I smiled watching the shade of pink fade away from her cheeks.

"I make no promises," I answered as I got off the elevator. "Thank you for the tour Kira, I really enjoyed it."

"No problem, Amelia, hope to see you around?" she asked and I nodded smiling.

"Will definitely be escaping from this box to your floor," I said and she giggled again as the doors closed. I turned around and walked back to our office and found Daniels still crunching numbers or letters while simultaneously scribbling on his paper.

I swiftly made my way back to my office and got started on the task he had assigned me. I don't think I'm going to enjoy this.
