Xiang Chen had left by the time the car stopped in front of her house. She quickly looked away and asked casually, "What were you talking to him about?"

Jing Liyuan continued to tap his fingers on the wheel, but if she had taken a closer look, she would have realized that he had slowed down. He finally stopped tapping the wheel and turned to face her. "Yin Xiaoxiao, don't you think you should stay away from other men now that you've decided to marry me?"

Yin Xiaoxiao froze. If they had been an ordinary couple, she would have thought that Jing Liyuan was jealous, but she knew very well that they were not an ordinary couple. They were not dating, nor did they marry for love. They had only found their way to each other by chance and had their own reasons for getting married, so there was no reason for Jing Liyuan to be jealous.

She knew she was in the wrong, so she heaved a deep sigh and kept her head bowed as she said softly, "I'm sorry, I didn't expect him to show up. He is my ex-boyfriend but there's no longer anything between us. I will only see him as my brother-in-law in the future."

Jing Liyuan's eyes narrowed and he pursed his thin lips. He didn't interrupt her and seemed a little contemplative.

"I don't know how else to explain it, but this is how things stand at the moment," Yin Xiaoxiao said. She had thought that she would have a lot to share with Jing Liyuan, but after she started to speak, she realized that she could summarize her relationship with Xiang Chen in just a few words. He was someone who had once been her boyfriend but was now her brother-in-law, and that was all. She felt very relieved after she told him about Xiang Chen, and she sounded a lot relaxed as she said, "I'm sorry for not letting you know earlier. I'll watch my actions in the future."

Jing Liyuan's brows arched and something flickered in his gaze before he turned to get out of the car.

Yin Xiaoxiao immediately wondered if her first marriage was about to come to an end. Soon, she saw Jing Liyuan walk up to her side of the car, open the door, and help her out of the car.

The Land Rover was a little taller than most normal cars and Yin Xiaoxiao was wearing heels, so she slipped while getting out of the car, lost her balance, and started to topple forward. Jing Liyuan quickly caught her in his arms. His warm hands slipped around her slender waist and she instinctively wrapped her arms around his shoulders. They looked like a couple who were deeply in love...

Yin Xiaoxiao immediately looked down and blushed when she realized what she had done. She could feel his warmth through the thin material of her dress and this made her feel a little flustered. She quickly said, "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to do it."

Jing Liyuan helped her steady herself before he turned to close to the car door. Then, he walked her all the way to her front door.

"I told him that you are mine," he suddenly said.

Yin Xiaoxiao blinked a few times before his words finally sank in. The red blush that had stained her cheeks earlier suddenly came back with a vengeance as she nodded shyly.

This was the first time she had felt that the distance from her front gate to her door was extremely long. She was so embarrassed that she wanted to die. She had pulled down his bath towel the first time they met and had just fallen into his arms earlier when she got out of the car. God knew what he thought of her character right now!

They finally reached her front door, and before she could even bid him goodbye, she heard Yin Ruoyun say happily, "Brother-in-law."

Jing Liyuan glanced at Yin Ruoyun, who was walking toward him, and completely ignored her. He stood in front of Yin Xiaoxiao, suddenly placed his hands on her head, and stepped forward. The next moment, she felt a gentle kiss being planted on her forehead. He moved away before she could bask in the warmth of that kiss and said softly, "Goodnight, I'll pick you up tomorrow."
