Chapter 5

"That… I have a new assistant"

"Isn't it's common for the president and CEO of a company to have an assistant"

"No man, it's.. It's a girl" Blake paused few seconds and said, 

" You like her, don't you?" it's more like a statement. 

"Are you mad how can I like a girl who I only met today"

"Man there is something called love at first sight don't you know" Blake said in a teasing tone. 

"I know but it's impossible for me to like her"

"Oh really then why she is messing you"That .. we went for lunch today"

"Wow a lunch date" Blake teased him again. 

"Stop it or else you won't hear anything from me" Zane yelled at Blake. 

"OK ok continue"

"I asked her a simple question about her university when I didn't get any reply, I tilted my head to look at her. I was really shocked by what I saw. She got a panic attack. I have no idea what on earth could have triggered her."

"So you want to know about her"

"It's not like I am curious Blake it's just I don't know what's going on with me I am confused and to be precise my mind is messed up"

"If you want to know about her you can have the details within 30 minutes, do you want me to talk to Rey?"

"No no, I want to hear from her. I don't want to invade her privacy, I don't think she wouldn't like it if she knew about it someday ."

" Are you serious , cold devil for whom the whole business world and underworld afraid to mess with has been knocked out by a little assistant. I think This is not my devil king Zane, you are someone, tell me where my Zane is."

"Stop your drama and give me a solution," he said in annoyance. 

"I am sure you have fallen for her and the solut

"And why do you say that I like her? And how can I be with her? We only met today morning and still I cannot figure out what kind of feeling I have towards her." 

"Because if you are curious about something or someone you have never bothered about their fucking privacy or feelings, moreover you have never been so curious about a girl, this is the first time you are talking about someone who works in your company and that too a girl. You are different in her case. You definitely like her man."

"I agree I have a feeling for her but I cannot figure out what kind of feeling is that, I am confused Blake, help me with this. " he ran his fingers through his hair in frustration. 

"But I am 100% sure you like her and to know your feelings you will eventually know it, so relax now and stop drinking you have finished half of the bottle." 

"Oh you are sad because I drank your half of the wine."

"Come on it's no important than you I am worried about that you have to drive back"

"I am planning to stay here"

"OK as you wish". 

He went to his suite and Hit the bed yet he cannot take those grey eyes from his mind. Slowly he drifted into a deep slumber because of the effect of the wine.

Next morning 

He woke up with a severe headache. He cannot even open his eyes, but somehow he opened it with great difficulty to check the time, it's almost 9.45 a.m. Instantly he got up from the bed and went to the bathroom. After taking a quick hot shower, he went inside the closet and took out his suit. He wore a midnight blue tuxedo suit with black shirt paired with black shoes. He has kept some of his formals, casuals and nightwear in his suite room because of usual stay. 

He wants to take off today but he doesn't want to miss the chance to see his little assistant. He entered his office, he turned to look at Ariana but to his disappointment the Cabin was empty. He thought she might have gone to grab some food.

 Around 20 minutes later, She entered his office, greeted him with an angelic smile "good morning sir" he raised his head to see her and greeted her back with a heart throbbing smile "Good morning Ms. Ariana. "

 "Sir these files need your signature" she said and kept those files on his desk. He asked her to sit. He could feel that a pair of eyes staring at him intently. 

"Why are you staring at me Ariana? Do you want to say something?" she thought for sometime and spoke. 

"Sir are you okay?". She asked with concern. He immediately knitted his brows together and gave a questioning look. 

"You look pale sir and your eyes are slightly red" her voice sounds concerned. 

"Oh that.. I have a headache and didn't get a good sleep last night. Could you ask someone to make me a cup of coffee and order a light breakfast." She Nodded and left his office. Around 30 minutes later Ariana entered his office with a tray. 

"Sir your coffee and breakfast". 

"Please keep inside my room". She placed the tray inside his room and returned back outside "Sir it's done, you should eat something now it's already late to have breakfast" she spoke politely, she could sense that something was not right with him. 

"Thank you Ms. Ariana , you can leave now and carry on with your work" Ariana nodded and turned around to leave but stopped by Zane. " And the files I will read and sign them in a bit, I will call you after it's done."

" Those files don't require your attention urgently, you should take some rest after breakfast." He nodded with a wide smile, she left his office in a minute. 

Once he was done going through some important files he went inside his room to have breakfast. The room was fully furnished.

He sat in a small dining table inside his room and opened the lid covering the tray to eat. His lips turned into a wide smile when he noticed two pills and a note on it.

 ‘Sir, have breakfast and then take the pill, it’s not good to take in an empty stomach.’ He remembered he didn’t ask her for pain killers. ‘So she cares for me’. He finished the breakfast with a smile on his face.

 After he finished his breakfast, he ate the painkillers too. He changed into a t- shirt and shorts. He is not comfortable sleeping in his office dress. When he closed his eyes for a few minutes his mind drifted to her thoughts, he couldn’t understand why or what was happening to him. Though he didn’t have a girlfriend before, he has met girls who were around his age, not once but many times, every single one of them was pretty and beautiful but none of them could ever manage to capture his eyes let alone his attention. There was something different with that little kitten , he wanted to know more about her.

He was attracted to her specially those eyes, those grey eyes which had their own light, their own glow. Thinking of those beautifully glowing eyes, suddenly those eyes turned into petrified eyes. Instantly he opened his eyes with a sudden change of emotions in her eyes.

‘What is happening to me? Those scared eyes made my mood worse than ever. What does it have to do with me?’ he ran his hand through his hair in frustration. He decided to go back to sleep, because of the painkillers and heavy headache he drifted off in a deep sleep.

He woke up after eight hours of sleep. He was shocked to see the time, office hours were over. He slowly got up from the bed and went inside the bathroom. After getting refreshed he went out of the room. He walked towards his desk and sat on his chair. He just turned his head to the side of Ariana’s cabin, he was stunned to see Ariana still working, ‘Zane this is the right time, go, talk and build a friendship’ his inner voice screamed in his head. He exited his office and reached her cabin, he opened the door after giving a knock on the door.

She raised her head to see who was knocking on the door. When she met his teal eyes she was speechless for a few seconds but soon she regained her senses. She stood immediately and greeted him with an adorable smile “good evening sir, do you feel better now?”. He walked inside and sat opposite to her while replying to her question.

“Yes, thanks to you I slept well because of the painkiller” he spoke in a hoarse voice whereas she found it sexier, when he spoke out her blood rushed to her face made her blush ‘Ria what’s happening to you? He makes your body feel different types of sensations just by his voice’ she has no guts to face him. She replied with a nod without looking at him.

“why are you still working Ariana? “

“you haven’t left yet so…”

“Are you waiting for me to go home? “ she nodded with a smile.

“And Why is that? Am I a baby?”

“It’s not like that, you weren’t feeling well in the morning. What if you needed someone by your side? I don’t want leave you alone, So I didn’t leave moreover when you are in the office I can’t take off, it’s not appropriate.”

He smiled inwardly when she said ‘I don’t want to leave you alone.’

“ Are you hungry?” she shook her in disagreement. “But I am famished, come let’s go” saying that he stood from the chair and walked out of the door to reach the lift area, she picked her mobile and hand bag before running to catch up with him.

He asked her to wait in front of the gate and went to take the car from the parking lot. He drove the car and stopped near the gate, swiftly he got down and went to the other side to open the door for her, after he settled inside the car he came back to his side and sat. He noticed she hadn’t worn the seat belt. He leaned to fasten the seat belt when he tried to pull out the seat belt he felt she was gazing at him. He turned his head to look at her, they both were lost in their eyes. He leaned into her face, she could feel his hot breathing. Suddenly he pulled himself back and started to drive the car.

She turned to glance at his face. A small smile formed on her lips without her knowledge . Ariana is also attracted to Zane, she is too disturbed by his teal eyes, his charming face, his dark brown with a touch of blue silk smooth hair, and his muscular body. She likes everything about him at first sight. She cannot figure out what kind of feeling this is. She loves to be around him but she is not ready to be in a relationship due to her past and moreover he is her boss.
