It was as if Diya and I were going in circles, but I cut the rope and lay some ground rules. The ball was in her court. I did not have time to worry about her running off with another man this time. If she wanted to be with him, so be it. She was more that welcome to leave. She can go elsewhere, not anywhere near me or Theo. Theo was going to need all our attention, not half measures.
My grandfather’s words wormed their way into my head. What kind of man was I? Why did I hurt Diya? What have I done so far to get Theo back? Are you going to let people walk over you like this? Is the empire getting too big for you or maybe you have gotten weak?
I was not someone who got walked all over by people.

Ruby I was never going to shoot him, but he shot Filip. After the gun sounded, I felt as if I was paralyzed and shocked. Tears were coming from my eyes, but I couldn't speak. It was as if my voice had been blocked. Ace and Filip seemed casual about it. “Ace would have killed you for pointing a gun at him. You literally declared war on him,” Filip said. "This is him being lenient." he groaned. “Now that’s settled. I think you need to get ready before the police arrive. Get someone to clean this mess,” Ace walked away. I was sure I didn’t want to be in this house anymore. If what Filip said was true, that would mean he would have killed me. I tried to open my mouth so I could try to speak but nothing came. Matt I just knew something had happened when I tried to call Diya earlier and her phone kept ringing with no response. When she had eventually answered, I could tell something was off. I was trying to be calm and understanding, but I needed to know what was going on. I wasn’t sure what was happening and not knowing was driving me insane more. Diya When the police came and took me, I was tired. I knew I was innocent. Screaming or shouting was going to stop them from taking me. I would waste energy trying to get my husband to rescue me.
