“Elisa,” I called, “Wait a second.” I tried to talk some sense into her.

“Shut up,” she glared at me.

“Hold them down.” She shouted.

Ace and I shared a look. I hope now he gets that I was on his side. The odds were against us. Six guys plus Colin and Elisa and I bet there were more upstairs where Theo was crying his lungs out now.

All I needed was to get to one guy, and the rest was to follow. I knew that one person would shield Elisa first before guns started firing, which made the odds look a little better. I caught Ace giving me a nod. I saw him get Diya down and took that as the signal before we both attacked.

I shoved the two men quickly and elbowed the one on my right on the neck just as quickly and circled around him to shield myself before I could get a bullet. He was dead, but I needed the shield as I pulled the gun from his waist and shot at one. Two down and I saw Ace holding his own. Making it four down. Odds were looking good and on our side.
